Yeah there's no way this isn't the dark eldar. I know it was a random roll but come on, this is absolutely the part in every 40k story where things go full grimdark.
We've even done the classic AoS technique of "hero/protector leaves randomly so that the plot can happen."

Yeah, I'm okay with that.
Quick point of information, we actually can't get there before they leave. What we can do is start a clock for them and if we roll well it will be short, but they will still have time to look (below, per Neablis).
W has shown herself to be trustworthy over the last 100 years, we have her son on our ship ... why would we want to bring some unpredictable faction into this?

There are several reasons to prefer the museum over W's custodianship.
1. Museum is funnier and potentially cute down the line.
2. The Juvenant represents a political lever of tremendous power that should be under public scrutiny in any system with democratic ideals.
3. W deserves a pleasant retirement without stress.

That seems like a particularly bad reason to compromise W's access to immortality juice.

Because an actual fountain of immortality is worth killing for, so there WILL be wars over this of it is public. Even if it's shadow wars between individuals rather than governments.
Having everyone believe the immortality factory left with us makes the stakes a lot lower and removes people's personal incentive to get desperate and stupid about it.
I don't think anyone actually knows what dark Eldar are, or how they differ from other Eldar. Vita wouldn't, she's before their time and all the databases she's got access to push the 'kill all xenos' line hard, so there is no reason for them to not lump all of the Eldar together. Drukari crimes make for great anti-craftworld propaganda of you are the empire.

Frankly I'm ok with W dying of old age? It feels a bit callous, but then part of the reason we gave her access was so we'd have someone on the inside we trusted, except now Denva as a whole is pretty solidly on board, so we don't need her as much.
Personally it'd be sad if she died of old age, but that's not enough to outweigh the fact that it feels really iffy to give one person sole control over the juvenat.

She read Inquisition files deep enough to know about the Fall , she would know about the Drukari, that is much more surface level than ten thousand year old history because it is tactically relevant. For one Drukari weapons are designed to cause pain over doing damage, for another they have no psychic powers etc... Vita did not learn about Eldar from the Guardsman's Primmer.

I don't think this is actually true? I searched for drukari and there were no posts by Neablis with that word, and the only two thread marks that mention Eldar before the current scramble are posted below:

Hmm... Fall isn't capitalized, I think you are right. I thought she knew about the history of the Eldar Empire and how it fell which is considerably more obscure in imperial sources than Drukari being their own thing.

Juvenat doesn't prevent people dying from being shot or stabbed in the right places. W might not age, but in the long arc of history she will slip up sooner or later.
Keeping the Juvenat secret isn't going to prevent the wars, just delays it until the secret gets out or until W's faction suffers a schism. What would is establishing common ownership and terms of use--plus the promise of expanding production, which because we handed our research over they have the blueprints to do.
And, actually, that's the other reason to leave the ship in public hands--the research we handed over includes production facilities for Juvenat, so they're going to start cooking their own at some point. Publically handing down ownership of Juvenat gives us the choice of what Juvenat access looks like going forward, leaving it to W leaves the issue to W's judgement, and destroying it leaves the issue to chance.

Public ownership is going to be a farce when there are only 50 people who can benefit. The people who benefit are going to do anything but to lose it, and that's how you incentive a democracy into an aristocracy.
I want the leaders to not regard losing power as a death sentence, or else they will never give up power without being violently forced. And I don't think there's any realistic way to separate who gets the juvenat from who holds temporal power.
If they have the plans for production facilities to research on their own, cool- they can do a mass rollout once they have it. It'll be a great project for a democracy. But I think leaving existing production to be fought over will make it less likely that gets rolled out, and more likely democracy gets undermined.

They can build more juvenat facilities - and indeed, if they have people they care about, then they'll have to.
I know it's expensive, but it's still possible.
