Also - hot take, instead of closing the rift we could prep for a chaos incursion into Quintira, marshal our forces, prepare defenses and then stomp on them when they come through. Capture and cleanse titan wreckage. It's a fully consecrated system already.
We could also build Defense Stations there, and last I checked an Action on that could establish 5 SBGs worth of defenses so we could try to have them walk into an ambush.

And if we do try to bait them, I also think this would be the most excellent time to sing the Song of Sun, Fire, Death, DEATH, DEATH!!! to nuke those noisy degenerates back to the Warp.

Rather than research, why don't we use the extra AP for Diplomacy instead and improve our relations with the Watchtower confederacy?
Definitely. I'll probably push to include this action in future wars:

-[] [General] Ministry of Subversion, Infiltration, and Interstellar Communication
--[] Extend the offer to the Shipwright's Growth for an even closer union, and determine what is required to fully integrate our two nations together.

And of course we can do the same for the Lords of Eternity.

[] Cleanse The Penitentia Rite
Should have just prayed... At least we can make up for that mistake instead of throwing away a potent tool against Chaos.

Also, please don't leave a door into our heartland open for one of the 3 big bads that Star Child warned us about. This is an end-game threat that requires specialized songs, equipment, multiple next-generation fleets and a sanctified system filled with fortresses and defense stations for where we know they'll have to go through...
Instead, we can just stitch this hole and keep growing instead. We have yet to absorb the Shipwright's Grove, getting out of the friend zone and start super-colonizing everything in sight. We can grow so much before we have to face this madness.

Also can we please drop Hippity Hoppity to get Devouring Mechadendrite on full blast? We can handle our psyker problems faster, meaning more Choirs, including for Hippity Hoppiting!

@HeroCooky, question - if we decide to cleanse the Penitentia Rite, we need to spend that 1 action this turn? No "let's just not use the Rite until we have a good moment for cleansing it"?

A rite is shown, desperation to give damned souls one last way out itself corrupted. Tendrils from beneath slithering into letters and prayers. It would never work as intended, damning all souls willingly undertaking the Penitentia to The Noise That Demands Attention.
Huh, that's actually a pretty straightforward bit of corruption. I had expected something more subtle.

From Ancestors, With Love - You get a postcard from a really beautiful place somewhere in the galaxy, where the ancestors took vacation in. Postcard contains clues on how to get there, and some heartwarming words of encouragement. No guarantees that said place is as pristine as it was back then, though.

@HeroCooky is voting supposed to be open?

While I have your attention - is the quoted diplomatic action valid? Or do we need to do the ISC action to open up the potential for integration?
-[] [General] Ministry of Subversion, Infiltration, and Interstellar Communication
--[] Extend the offer to the Shipwright's Growth for an even closer union, and determine what is required to fully integrate our two nations together.

For free actions - let's turn off hippity hoppity and Glint of Genius? If we have 50 free choirs we get song progress.

Also - hot take, instead of closing the rift we could prep for a chaos incursion into Quintira, marshal our forces, prepare defenses and then stomp on them when they come through. Capture and cleanse titan wreckage. It's a fully consecrated system already.

I don't have a strong opinion about the consecrated world - could do Volion's fall or Terrore in 621.

So we got two options for the Warp Rift, one is the easy option which is sealing it.

But there is another option.

Dump four actions into getting whatever allies and ships we can and Doomstack the Rift.

Turn it into our personal Cadia.

It's crazy, but we know they're coming, so let's turn it on them.
While the idea of "put on the bonus actions symphony and do nothing but spamming defense stations into that system until the warp rift pops" is funny...
Lets not take that risk.
But still would be funny to see at what number of stations cooky goes "no, that system is mostly defense stations by weight. There are no clear shot lines for most of them. The orbits are getting too hard to compute for the Star Mechanicum".

When you put it like that, I think it would be incredibly funny if we spent a decade just making Rogal Dorn proud with setting up a ludicrous amount of fortifications in one system.

The action is green, not red.
Presumably we get at least this and next turn.
So if we turn on our symphony:
1 action turning on symphony
4 actions of bulding
1 bonus action due to symphony
1 more bonus action due to 5 actions *0.25 -> 1.25 -> rounded up to 2

then next turn
5 actions of building
2 bonus actions of building

4+1+1+5+2=13 AP worth of building
each AP worth 5 SBG of defense stations
13*5= 65 SBG of defense stations. In a blessed system.

Edit: If we can fit in one more action of building, we'd have more that 69 SBG worth of defense stations.
A certain Thule would be proud.

[X] Plan: Stitch the Rift and Begin the Symphony
-[X] Cleanse The Penitentia Rite
-[X] [Psykana] To Stitch A Rift (0/3) x3
-[X] [Psykana] Sing a Symphony
--[X] Cry For The Future
-[X] [Free] Consecrate In Sacred Sand (Krumpany - Odrenus)
-[X] [Free] Remove all Choirs from Glint of Genius. Leave Hippity Hoppity active.
-[X] [Free] Swap auto-build to Pyxis-Secundus Advanced Scout Sloop

The plan here (beyond not giving a chaos cult 4x our size direct access to our heartland) is to use our symphony now the warp is still. The Penetentia rite is going to be worthwhile against chaos, so we should get it ticking. Also - you can't have too many scouts, so let's make more now that we're flush with choirs to crew them.

Speaking of, let's leave Hippity Hoppity active for one more turn - maybe the expeditions will combine into a single action. We should still have 50 free choirs to continue the auto-song ticker.

Oh, and let's consecrate Krumpany since it's on our southern flank and right next to the Do Not Enter system. Whatever's there, having consecration nearby can't hurt.

You missed Heartbeat of Industry, our military song, which would combine with the symphony to turn an emergency turn of military building into... 9 actions? I think so, it's +1 military action per 3 regular military actions.

Edit: Next turn if we turn on Glint of Genius with the symphony and plowed all 5 emergency actions into research we'd get... 5x2(base) +3x2 (symphony actions) +1x2 (extra symphony action for breaking 13 non-symphony actions)=17 research actions? Just a thought...

2. Assign Choirs before doing Warp/engagin Chaos shit. And you will find that almost all things Psykana are going to be below abstraction from here on out. You already have the More Actions Songs+Symphony, so if you want more Number Go Up buttons, they ain't here.
Question for when you wake up. Basically the idea is that Songs and Symphonies are more narrative than not. For the purposes of a plan I started working on I am guessing the below wouldn't give action economy but something else?

--[] Symphony of Innovation and rediscovery (tech focused) A Glint of Genius - "Through inspiration, desire" – The spark of invention that drives the entire journey. Diverting Power - "Let Harm not come to us." - why we want better technology, to protect us from a hostile and uncertain galaxy. Hippity Hoppity - "Where is my Star Child-damned inheritance!" – Once we had all of this knowledge. It's been lost and we want it back, dammit! Onto Works Generational- "Worlds born from ceaseless work" – A focus on the work needed to turn ideas into reality. Hiss of the Steam Valves - "The music born by industry sighing freely." – Our final goal, a harmonious society of freedom and abundance, made possible by technology.

This is peak gamba but hear me out. If this song is better for research then we can probably blast our way through most of it. The more concentrated a symphony the better it is. Cooky was talking about how "Cry for the Future" was extremely generic so maybe a more focused son ought to help here

Choir Numbers and Assignments
Thanks to HeroCooky I can get an accurate measure of just how many Choirs we have. Count started at 200.M43 - The Staves Strike the Ground.

Current Total Choirs: 1685
Current Date: 330.M42 - Lu Is 21

NOTE: As of 210.M43 - The Decade Passes, HeroCooky has confirmed that we have 0.3% of our population as psykers (not choirs) of notably above baseline human psy range. This obviously includes the support staff and other psykers that didn't make the cut for being in a Choir.

Growth Per Turn and Current Assignment:
  • 200.M43: (? Previous Total) + (? Growth) = 366 Current Total
  • 210.M43: 366 + 15 = 381
  • 220.M43: 381 + 17 = 398
  • 230.M43: 398 + 10 = 408 (apparently my math is wrong, HeroCooky says we have + 15) Total = 413
  • 240.M43: 413 + 16 = 429
  • 250.M43: 429 + 14 +16 = 445 (math is wrong again...)
  • 260.M43: 445 + 17 +16 = 461 (+16 according to HeroCooky)
  • 270.M43: 461 + 29 = 490
  • 280.M43: 490 + 19 = 509
  • 290.M43: 509 + 50 = 559 (According to HeroCooky, this is the first wave of the Warp Storm/Awakening Psykers)
  • 300.M43: 559 + 348 = 907
  • 310.M43: 907 + 242 = 1149
  • 320.M43: 1149 + 248 = 1397
  • 330.M43: 1397 + 288 = 1685
  • 340.M43:
  • 250.M43:
  • 260.M43:
  • Infrastructure Choirs: 180 Choirs (Unchanged, was 180 last turn)
    • FTL Comms (1 Choir Per System): 100x Choirs - Unchanged
    • Warp Observatory: 30/30x Choirs - Unchanged
    • Free Choirs (For Auto Melody and Song Progress): 50x Choirs - Unchanged
  • FTL Ship Transport: 247 Choirs (Changed, was 172 Choirs) Our fleets are a horrible mess. This is the best I can do without wasting another 2 hours on the specifics. Will work on this when I have the time or after we choose the '-[] Standardize Your SBGs' Action.
    • 50 Andromeda Secundus' (1 Choir per Ship) (SBG's) - Unchanged
    • 63 Pyxis-Secundus' (1 Choir per Ship) (Scouts) - Unchanged
    • 4 Rustbucket's (1 Choir per Ship) (Evac Fleet) - Unchanged
    • 1 Aquarius (2 Choirs per Ship) (Overflow SBG) - Unchanged
    • 1 Cancer (1 Choir per Ship) (Overflow SBG) - Prototype built automatically
    • 9 Nomadic Fleets (3 Choirs per Fleet) - Changed (Obsoleted, Refitting. No further production)
    • 5 Nomadic Fleets (5 Choirs per Fleet) - Added (Autobuild set to Refitting)
  • Choirs Singing: 1258 Choirs (Changed, was 1045 last turn)
    • Singing 'The Devouring Mechadendrite': 20/20x Choirs - Unchanged
    • Singing 'A Glint of Genius': 0/40x Choirs - Deactivated this turn
    • Singing 'Heartbeat of Industry': 50/50x Choirs - Unchanged
    • Singing 'Unto Works Generational': 0/50x Choirs - Unchanged
    • Singing 'No Evil': 500/500x Choirs - Unchanged [LOCKED]
    • Singing 'Hippity Hoppity': 100/100x Choirs - Unchanged
    • Singing 'Hiss of the Steam Valve': 250x Choirs - Activated this turn
    • Foretold Luminous Paths Seen - 100/100x Choirs - Unchanged [LOCKED]
    • Singing 'Paths Without Treason': 0/10x Choirs - Unchanged
    • Singing 'Dutiful Spirits': 138x Choirs - Added 3 Choirs this turn (likely overflow)
    • Singing 'Placebo': 100x Choirs - Activated this turn (ON LOAN to Dutchy)

Yeah, more or less. I think I'd prefer to "only" do 7 research actions next turn (necron stuff, juvenat) and use the spare to get heavy industry X for the research bonus. We might have a spare for diplomacy too.

This is peak gamba but hear me out. If this song is better for research then we can probably blast our way through most of it. The more concentrated a symphony the better it is. Cooky was talking about how "Cry for the Future" was extremely generic so maybe a more focused son ought to help here
Yeah, definitely possible and I don't hate it. I still think I prefer cry for the future for a few reasons - first, we know what we're getting and it's still good, second we probably want to do more than just research - with Cry for the Future we can also do a 7x general action turn for diplomacy and development which we also need (and mix and match with research since we have enough choirs for both mechadendrite and glint of genius).

What I think I'll pitch first is we finish heavy industry, do some diplomacy and get the necron stuff out of the way. Then we'll get an even bigger research bonus for follow-up necron stuff.

Edit:
Math assuming glint & mechadendrite, 5 base actions.
3 research + 3 glint
2 general + 1 mechadendrite
9 actions gives 3 symphony actions
1 research action +1 glint
2 general + 1 mechadendrite
So that's 8 research and 5 general actions. That's enough for necron, juvenat and a floater action, as well as heavy industry X and 2 diplomatic actions, likely to start integration for both the shipwrights & lords of eternity.

This is well past psychic ascension, so I suspect that many Thules are low level psykers.
Ah, well that would explain a lot of things and make sense. It could be viewed as that but I do think its just Faith doing that rather than Psykana.

HAH, figured as much considering how you described the Fed Nun. I can only imagine the sheer smug and how unbearable the Glim Fed Nun will be for the next centuries.

Nope, the "Storytime" was more Abstract Thing That Happened than Strict Reality. Think of it as a live-action show veering off into an animated storytime.
Ah, more for the readers/fans type of thing or using a short animation to just a brief bit to get the point and not have to animate the fight. Clever.

Are we really gonna blast the psychic equivalent of "Let's get it on" across the Federationvfor more psykers? Seems...like an interesting choice
.... I mean, if it works? get all the romantic songs playing.

The staves strike the ground.

Pure minds of devotion pray, their souls fully given to the duty and the damned.

The staves strike the ground.

Thuribles swirl their blessed incense into the air.

The staves strike the ground.

Chants fill one's mind as the blessed hymns uplift one's soul.

The staves strike the ground.

Five-times-Five priests beseech the Light of Salvation for aid in these times, to uncover what dangers had nestled themselves beneath their watchful eyes.
Huh interesting way of going about this but this is a second use of the Starchild phone and this time it isn't the long standing warning the QM has been itching to drop on us, so having it more ritual like is a good change and fits with the vibe. Prayers, incense, chants, and like looking for a sign of some kind.

The staves strike the ground

Gilded marble cracks.

The staves strike the ground...and make no sound.
Andddd that would be it. interesting that it came from cracked Gilded Marble and the fact there was no sound on the strikes after.

Breaths are taken in unison, by the command of a greater will, and the smoke from the incense swirls and dances in the air currents, entering noses and guiding eyes.

A rite is shown, desperation to give damned souls one last way out itself corrupted. Tendrils from beneath slithering into letters and prayers. It would never work as intended, damning all souls willingly undertaking the Penitentia to The Noise That Demands Attention.

But the foundations are not yet rotten.

Two paths snake through time...one of cleansing, and another of washing.

To Cleanse the Rite, make it anew without the words and sigils, the chants and hymns, the knowledge and satisfaction of its function.

Or to Wash it all away, consign the books and velum, the scrolls and notes to the fire and the flame. To let it be forgotten and bring to Ruin none.
Oh it takes all of it and makes an image or message in that, taking all elements to tell the warning. So it is showing the Rite was corrupted... oh specifically to the Cult to the Northwest and fits to how chaos does things with slipping in the small things that make the rite never work as intended. I THINK the reason the foundation was fine because it was made by the Hexee breakaway Branch and on their own before anything, this was an rework or addition/modded form of it.

Honestly I'd rather do away with it due to never agreeing with it in the first place but I think more people want to make use of it so I guess it will Cleanse the Rite. given our Anti-Chaos everything I'd give good chances of it working since we were aware of it.

But as the vision draws to its end, there is another vision. Merely a swirling rift in space...and thundering drums and the cheer of a crowd drawing near through it.
Wait....We get a daemonic incursion in bound through the rift as they find the path to it? I can't tell if its generic or if its the Cult trying to bypass the long way.

[] [General] Colonize (Planet/s)
It is time to bring four more worlds into the fold. Thanks to the Kil'drabi becoming our Kin, we can now categorize Frozen, Ash, and Volcanic Worlds as Habitable instead.
(Gain: Four colonized Worlds.
Habitable Worlds: Ivuh - Ubraka (Planetary Mangroves), Llolanov - Kriegar (Temperate Forests and Mild Arctic), Yeogawa - Gheistheim (Flowering Abdundance)
Hostile Worlds (-1 Void Industry): Olutia - Grace of the Labors (Dry Tundra), Magisch - Hexe (Arctic and Island)
Deathworlds (-1 to All): Qulach's Forge - Qulach's Forge (Fallout, Glass, Industrial Ruins, and Chemicals))
Oh neat, it finished and flowering Abdunance world is ready. I want to see what it does and if we can get more food production from that planet.

I will say we shouldn't try to upgrade any deathworlds from now on considering what the QM told us about SAG's Raised on them being Elite or Veteran status. its only Qulach Forge though and we already terraforming it already. but next time we get a deathworld we should eat the -1 development.

-[] Rejuvenat Experimentation II (0/3)
(Gain: Improve Rejuvenat Access from 1.2% to 1.6%.)
Oh shit, that's pretty good and something we should do, we still are dealing with a lot of new pyskers and were told we would need to have more to be able to support the choirs or be more restrictive of who can join Choirs. plus its an even bigger increase with it going up by .4 percent instead of the .2 before. this should be done next turn along with the Green Guns ideally, and hoping no more actions needed to deal with Warp rift once we close it.

-[] Ship Equipment Standardization - [1 DP Equipment] (1/3)
.... Huh? what's up with this? why did it go up to 3 action needed and that it had one added to that? was that New Dawn?

The Talon - Qo
Suspected Subversion Time: ~110 Years
Modifiers: Extreme Anti-Subversion Tactics +~250 Years, Focused Infiltration -~100 Years

Oq Jubilia - Oq
Suspected Subversion Time: ~110 Years
Modifiers: Extreme Anti-Subversion Tactics +~250 Years, Focused Infiltration -~100 Years
Yes I am going to do this every update. Just stop this now and buy out the damn Mercs.

[] [Military] The Ancient's Bone-Mender Temple - (Write-In Military Forces)
Hippity Hoppity has revealed to us a site where technology, rites, knowledge, or culture of the Ancients yet remain...if not how intact. It is far away from our borders, and thus the fleet sent there to uncover the truth must be guarded.
(Gain: One plundered Bone-Mender Temple)
Well we have the location but we aren't going to be make sure it of right now. fucking hell this is why I wanted to wait on this shit. turn it off and do it later, just do the other songs and Cry for the Future Symphony to do as much this turn as possible.

[] [Psykana] To Stitch A Fift (0/3)
There is a Warp Rift, or rather a stabilizing Warp Rift, in Quinturas Diablo. We know that it leads somewhere to the Galactic North-West, but we know not where it opens to. And it will open to somewhere. We know of this thanks to our quick studies. Now we must gather our psychic might and lore to find a way to shut the Rift before it can open fully.
(Gain: A Ritual to close this Warp Rift shut.)
another three actions... alright fair. just do it now and seal it up so we can be done with it. Wait a minute. to the Galactic North-west.... for a hot second I thought it was to the Halo Stars and we were gonna have to deal with the Rak'Gol again out of nowhere. It makes more sense for it to our Galactic Northwest for the Sector and the cult trying to spawn near their target of the Black Ash Clan Sector.

Time to seal that shit up.

Ah, they're going to try and Deep Strike through that rift to hit one of our major strongpoints with the Titan force.

Well, let's go put a stop to that, shall we?
Indeed, clever of them and might have been some help from their patron considering the dice rolled. lets deny it to them and save our most important system so far.

Bone-Picker's Temple is a long fucking way off apparently, even knowing where to go. I don't want to deploy a force there without a Fleet Tender.
Agreed, and for the LOVE Of starchild make a Supply Ship and Fleet tender and produce it the turn before we send out a fleet to go there so we are ready for it.

Basically finished, no major damage for anyone due to you giving them enough time to prepare against the Warp Storm.

Oh, and the Duchy has been making Major strides in their wars against the Drukhari and the Orks thanks to that.
Oh shit, seriously? I guess the fact them having 19 years of warning in advance and the expected duration being a week helps a lot with that much time to stockpile and make sure anything important wasn't done or underway during that week.

Oh.... that's... good I guess? on one hand, they are making good progress on the two threat that are keeping them from being able to switch focus to us and might result in us getting into another war with the Dutchy, on the other we did get a massive boost to diplomacy we REALLY SHOULD USE SOON. to boost the Iconoclasts in the Dutchy and maybe build up some more Fleets to keep that Cold War Status. Also a lot more pyskers to use.

Now I want to see a Nega-Quest perspective from the Dutchy and the thread there torn on how to feel about the Glimmering Federation.

I... rather not. Don't get me wrong it is a Funny and Memeable moment worth mentioning, but better not to play a game of attrition with Chaos and don't give them the option to drop another Blackstone fortress on a Fortress world.

Since they're cutting through the Warp, it probably means they get to literally connect their core territories and all the Warpiness directly to our heartlands, rather than have to do all kinds of bullshit to extend Daemons and other nonsense across several sub-sectors of space.

Never give an enemy a backdoor to your heartlands no matter how irritating it is for you to clean up the mess.
agreed, we want to bleed them dry over a long route to us, if we absorb the Shipwright's Grove we should expand towards the Cult to make fortress worlds and evac worlds if they break them to deny them any slaves or sacrifices and continue bleeding them. We still need that Military Development X soon. And just don't try to play those games with chaos when there is a warp rift in your heartlands.

Excuse me, but this is 40k. Please allow the Daemonic Hordes access to one of your Core Systems, there is no way that this can go wrong! After all, you can just Doomstack them! :V
Now hold on there, the only reason Terra is has it because of Magnus and the breaking of the Human Webway, that wasn't a design choice and neither will this one be.

I see you are also a fan of Doomstacks, good taste.
