I guess we could put the progress prep on turn 9 if we needed to, so that turn 10 is when we head out. Might be a nice closer for autumn if we go around just before winter. Give all the people of the places we visit something to talk about during the snow.

I'm starting to think we should save Progress Prep to Turn 9, so we can manipulate matter at home. (i.e. Give Johanna's child a dragon egg).

However, if Winter begins around that time, we might not be able to visit the North. So, I suppose it is a case of what matters more to us making sure that our half-sibling gets a Dragon Egg or visiting the North during our (First) progress

@Teen Spirit a couple of things

If we want to be here for the birth of our sibling, and leave for the Royal Progress afterwards... Do we need to take on turn nine Prepare for a Royal Progress or we can do it in turn eight?

And you have told us that Viserys wouldn't be offended if we wait or if we go immediately... But if we wait for the birth of our sibling would it impact positively our reputation in court and/or our relationship with our stepmother?

Given the travel speed advantage of a dragon, we could reasonably travel back to the capital for the birth during the progress, but that would likely still be a month or so of time, given we need to get back to KL, wait for the birth and then back to wherever the progress is.

Unless we manage to time it that we are close at that point.

Yeah, uh, you have a dragon.

You can dip out of the Progress for a couple of days to return home while the Progress is in transit, it's cool.

I agree with talking to Johanna, but I'm still not sure about sinking 2/2 or 2/3 convos into it. I can see the argument that if we're going to do this, do it right though.

@Teen Spirit's comment alleviates my concerns about waiting too long on the progress, so I'm more in favor of leaving it until after our sibling's birth.

I'd prefer to do back-to-back training under the assumption that there may be some sort of tourney for our sibling's birth (or shortly thereafter, after they're confirmed living and healthy), and if so it's likely to be a relatively large tourney (which Tarly has said we need). Showing up and crushing it would be a show of strength - while it wouldn't be officially called that I imagine there would be those calling it the "Heir's Tourney."

Edit: On the other hand, if Viserys has soured on tourneys celebrating the birth of his children after the last time, maybe this won't happen.

I'd also like to get in a study: martial or study: diplo or train: ride. While @Teen Spirit has said every action has advantages, so I'm sure there is one, I'm not sure why we'd be sneaking out into the city? In show canon, I think this pretty much only disadvantaged Rhaenyra. While a lot of the reasons for that are not present here, I don't really see any benefits we know about and it could still start unpleasant rumors. Also, IC-wise, show!Rhaenyra does this to get some freedom and escape her responsibilities, while quest!Rhaenyra is already taking her freedom and doesn't want to escape her responsibilities.

Well, we can always start the Royal Progress in White Harbour, travel through the North first and then travel south to continue...

I mean we can count with at least one whole year of autumn, so we shouldn't have much of a problem with it...

It was only really disadvantageous because Daemon basically lured her out in an active effort to disgrace her.

No way is Viserys holding a Tourney for the birth of his kid ever again.

[X] Plan: Progress, Investigation, and Sneakery
-[X] [Conversation] Speak with Lord Commander Harrold Westerling
-[X] [Conversation] Speak With Queen Johanna Westerling
-[X] [Action] Sneak out and Explore the City
-[X] [Action] Investigate the Death of King Aenys
Most Maesters and other writers agree that Queen Visenya had poisoned her nephew, King Aenys, to allow her own son to take the throne. But you have already seen how much those same authors were willing to ignore Visenya's contributions and slander her already. Perhaps this is simply another case of slander. If you could prove that, it could improve Queen Visenya's reputation considerably and make a stronger argument for your own eventual rule
-[X] [Action] Prepare for a Royal Progress

I want to know more about what happened to King Aenys more than learning how to write poetry. We've left that plot thread hanging for too long.

Good to know! I'm sure Johanna won't be happy about that, and it does mean we'll need to find a suitable tourney rather than guessing that our sibling will get one.

… if there's some sort of tourney for Daemon when he wins the Stepstones war, then upstaging him at his own tourney would also be excellent.

Although of course we can look for tourney's and winning some LPs marriage or heir tourney is probably big enough.

Hmm, I'm maybe willing to save the Royal Progress prep until next turn. We can just hurry back on dragonback when the time draws near for the birth of the child, or something like that?

Very well, we start our progress on Turn 10 (i.e. Prepare on Turn 9).
