What should your focus for the rest of the Quest be?

Okay y'all. A somewhat serious thought.

Spend 8 actions over the course of the next 6 turns infiltrating every planet in the Black Ash Clan and just absorb them that way.

Edit: It's a bad plan but honestly it's the extreme end of solutions

@HeroCooky if we formally introduce ourselves will we get an action to address the shit show that we caused immediately?

That's not what happened. We tried to switch focus away from it and got the following note:
So therefore, we could keep the focus on it and just ask them to wait for overt action. I've already asked what our options are without kicking off a war, here:
Again you are mistaken. I wasn't talking about that, I was this
-[X] (free) Ministry of Subversion, Infiltration, and Interstellar Communication to delay the open capture of Branus for 10 years, focusing their effort on making the change of control happen as peacefully and seamlessly as possible.

We already delayed the subversion as much as we could so far.

I will make mention of the fact I WAS warning the thread about it around the 40 years to be Ready point 'hey maybe we should stop or put it on hold' and it wasn't until the 20 or 10 year mark and put to peacefully take over until we stopped that as well. it could have been avoided then.

1. Obviously it's a bad idea to switch doctrine every turn, but can we get a rule-of-thumb on how often we can do it without penalties?
2. What will the chickens do? I'm operating under the assumption it'll impact development.
3. Can we get more civilian industry/medical/agriculture research options? I'd love to see better farming techniques spread from the agriworlds (maybe we can put those floating plants into other gas giants - every 2 gas giants colonized is another Food Development?) or other similar things. 4. What's the difference between relations & influence? One is how much they like as and the other is how much control we have over their internal politics and the likelihood they'll decide to confederate with us?
5. What's the path towards integrating the Ashan? Up our influence with them? We already did one thing to do that, will they auto-join us if we do the other 3, or if we do one or two more will we get an new action to offer & force their integration? I just don't understand this mechanic.
6. Will Military Integration and Improvement actually let us use the Ashan fleet if, for example, van Zandt attacks us?
7. Does Economic Harmonization do anything mechanically the way that the other options did?
8. The 'peaceful' subversion of Brans is a bit awkward. What's going to happen at the end of the timer, the leaders of the planet just decide to peacefully join us? What are our options for modifying it? Can we direct them to stay quiet and use Brans as a base and expand through the rest of the Black Ash clan, spreading covert propaganda about how great we are so we start with already positive relations/influence? Or use Brans as a base to subvert the leadership of the Black Ash?
1. 10 Turns.
2. Be chik-ans. So a delicious, nutritious, and cheap sour of meat and eggs. On a nation-scale.
3. Sure. More Actions to the Action Pile Hell!
4. You got it.
5. You need another one before unlocking the "Buy-Out" integration option.
6. Yeah. But under a Joint Command rather than We Own You Bitch type deal.
7. It boosts your integration.
8. It's a slow build-up of pro-Federation and anti-Clan sentiments, with all the tiny stuff required to make it happen. I just can't show all that because I don't have the time. So you need to use the power of ~imagination~ to figure out that the timer is an abstract representation of efforts. You have no options to modify it. This is already the slowest it can be. And no. You didn't start with that, let it go until the last second, and then panicked and switched. That ship has sailed.
1. Oh since you're telling us about the tau currently, how are things for the Imperium on the other side of the rift?
2. Qm, are we looking at the remains of the loyalists of the traitor legions souls forming these spirits or just the innocents all caught up in this gathered in a safe place in the warp until the Ruinous powers coming knocking and most got picked off in their route to Mothome?
3. What IS our livestock in the federation anyways? what animals do we raise for food or their products?
4. Also is it gonna be possible to get the designs of the other types of Knights from the Black Ash Clan should we get good relations and alter absorb them? or is this a case where you NEED the STC blueprints of it to build more of them and without them you can't do much?
1. *Anguished Screams Of Innocents* Pretty normally.
2. How should I know?
3. Grox. Some fish. Some mammals. Some lizards. Some birds. Etc.
4. You can get the designs.
Do we produce surplus food?
Not enough to matter in interstellar diplomacy.

Yep!

Yeah, in hindsight we should have just went for the Black Cat Company since they only had like 1 planet. Still could actually.

Ah fair enough. Fair enough.

What do you think of this option?

Federation Fortress Expansion: States closely aligned to the Federation haven't always had the kindest neighbours. The Federation's Fortress Stations are a necessity and often looked upon in envy. Close allies can now enjoy the benefits that come with this program as stations manned by the Federation's soldiers will be built to protect their citizens
(Basically we are using our federation fortress initiative and essentially, through the existing infrastructure we built for station production, building them their own fortress project. Nothing says influence quite like building stations over every planet and larping as the US)

Too much?

2. AH so that's the thing, I guess when scaled up to what we are working with, chickens would be a great improvement since its both meat and eggs in large supply. looking forward to the results.
5. hmmmm Depends on how much because I'd rather stay the course and keep integrating them.
6. Ah fair enough and not good enough considering how facing the dutchy would be.
8. Yahhhh, I figured that was the thing when we waited to the last minute to swap and then changing it to peaceful but not stopping it completely... we dug our grave and we can lie in it. I would push for formal Contact with Black Ash next turn along with building the Anti-Dutchy fleet or doing more dipolmacy actions.

1. fair enough, business as normal.
2. fair..
3. ah so normal stuff, I'm guessing some kind of pigs maybe? I know Groz were lizards ranched and such so I figured cows were around but I honestly thought Chickens would have been around already. Guess not.
4. Yay, okay we don't lose out on it.

Y'all I have found every EU funding program. Here. Help me do blatant plagiarism as we take all the EU programs and use them for our diplomatic integration efforts

Here is one I am stealing with adjustments

Defence Fund: The galaxy is a dangerous place. With Orks, Dark Eldar, Chaos and Star Child knows what else the best way to survive is to have teeth. This fund will help all members fund their military needs whether it be research, fortifications or fleet building.
(Basically a "fund" to help states develop their military. It's unobjectionable enough that most states would want to join if invited. Everyone would contribute in a "Free Action" sorta way)

Prometheus Initiative: Education has, in many ways, fallen to the wayside in this galaxy as survival has taken priority. As things have grown safer now is the time to bring back the old principle. The program seeks to support education in it's member states to the highest degree possible

Again you are mistaken
It appears I was.

So now we have the options between making nice and potentially a war. I really don't want a huge action drain when we're trying to integrate the Ashan - which we're likely two actions away from.

I could see doing a surge of things towards them in the three turns between when we're introduced and when the world gets taken, to frame it as a sort of "Look how awesome we are, also one of your worlds has chosen to join us of their own free will, the rest of you should consider doing the same!" Diplomatic actions are more impactful when spread over less time. Doing it this way gets us one more action to spend on them, as it were.

We might also make nice with the Black Cat, in order to avoid them getting hired to fight against us. Since as it stands we completely dumpster the Black Ash fleet, so them trying to attack us wouldn't go so well.

Oh yeah, and we need to wait like 6 more turns for this. Oh well.

Or we could go really hard in supporting them, like help them kick in the Croaf Hegemony's teeth.

And maybe spend more than just an action per turn, but we do have an advantage since we'll be building relations up passively and we have Bran as our (wo)man on the inside to try speaking favorably of us.
I'm pretty sure that the relation won't go up passively since the 'relationship go up' department is busy slowly introducing the Federation. We don't get to have our cake and eat it too imo.

Either we bite the bullet and spend a action to diplomacy them in the immediate turn or we start at the bare bottom relations wise in 5 turns when the department finally opens contact via the auto action.

I would say just to do the Black Ash Clan next turn just to do it and get to the point where we can move stuff and try to frame it as people seeing how good it is on our side and they wanted to join us. Seriously just do a full diplomacy turn or the like. Oh and do the Anti-dutchy turn as well at this point, we're starting to do the Subverting Black Ash Clan world and stopping at the last moment with those Rad Lance fleets.

I'd much rather square away the Ashan first and then do a full-court diplomacy after the auto-ticker finishes.

We just have a billion other things to do, especially since I expect more tech/development options to open up soon.

We picked the diplomacy path. We need to do more than the bare minimum. Also, one turn is not enough to get serious diplomacy done frankly.

We really need to stop waiting till the last minute to do stuff.

We're... focusing on one thing at a time? Currently, that's the Ashan. We've been told that if we wait too long, our previous diplomacy stops counting as much. If we spend 8 turns squaring away the Black Ash, then we'll lose ground with the Ashan Famlies. Let's spend 2-3 turns dealing with them first, maybe make inroads with the Shipwrights', then focus on the Black Ash clan.

Should probably do that then.
We have a grace period of 1-2 turns between when our auto-ticker finishes formally introducing us and when we yoink their world. We can do the option then. We do not need to rush this.
