The Path Unending (A Cultivation Quest)

[X] No, I cannot afford to lessen my techniques now. This lesson will be strictly academic. (No technique will be filtered, but Kong Zhi will learn the theory behind how to perform such an act)

Kinda like the techniques we have now as is. Feel like it would be better to see Zhi integrate them as is and evolve them long term to work out any kinks like disparate anam types if that becomes a problem. Like we know form upgrading Northern Aurochs Onslaught that anam types can change in upgrades from inspirations anyway. So why intentionally filter them now when we could upgrade them that way later if Zhi wants or needs to at Teacher.

Time. this Quest is on a clock and integrating all our techniques as they are eats a lot of time. Reducing that load is potentially very advantageous.

I mean any tech we would filter now would be pretty low on the list already. And we have the anam required for each already. So it's purely a matter of integration actions at that point. And honestly those can be done when they are needed. Like the core ones to integrate are the Steel, Smoke and Time techs anyway. The rest are for utility and combat which can be done if needed or left as is.

We need the stats from some of them, most notably the Wits from Searing Chariot. Indeed, we want the stats from all of them, for several reasons.

[X] Yes, filtering a technique seems most wise. The loss in power will be negligible compared to the gain in efficiency. (A further subvote will be called should this option win)

That's very possible. I was just saying why we wanted to integrate them, not necessarily how much this would help. What Technique Integration do you think it'd help with, if anything?
Removing Wood from NAO would be our best bet. Then NAO isn't in conflict with SotP for anam from the Twice Forged Thicket and is about 30% faster to integrate minimum (max 60%). And removes the issue of needing pills or running back and forward between two Wonders.

Oh dear. I think that aside of a poison tech, Bihai did every one of the mentioned mistakes.
The road for a Warlord bard is going to be tough.

Seeing Smoker!KZ was very cool.

The aspect removal mechanic is interesting and I would like to see it in action. The problem is choosing which tech to alter.
Not touching sages' techs and mono type leaves three candidates for surgery:
1. NAO - I highly dislike the War component and still a bit salty over that vote. Unfortunately it seems like I'm in minority.
2. WC - Altering Nokai's gift before integrating it feels off, but doing so will make integration so much easier and quicker. We might even manage to finish it on the road!
3. SC - The main reason for getting it was in order to increase Wit, which should still be possible. But this tech is so thin, removing any of the aspects will turn it useless in a practice. Even worst crime, it will become incredibly boring.

EDIT:

Curiosity over the mechanic just isn't enough.

Check. That does make sense.

This makes the huge assumption that the removal doesn't raise the remaining component at all. If it does, our carefully calibrated pills become a problem, as we may no longer be able to integrate it at all without a Wonder we don't have or buying more pills.

We could go get a technique we don't care about back at the Heart and then filter it.
We still learnt filtering even if we decline to use it now.
Running into difficulties with the Warlord's Step isn't something we need to worry about for a long time.

Bro it probably won't even be nokai's gift anymore. He said that removing an element without replacing it changes the technique. It could very easily become something unrecognizable. I'd rather not give insult by spitting on a gift like that.

I admit, NAO and WHC has sentimental value while also being important steps for KZ's life so I don't want to touch them and would rather let them evolve naturally or at least figure out how to swap in another element.

Chariot has none of that due to people picking it up as a Stat stick. There's no guilt in gutting that.

Zhuan Hun's mother and Masters are pretty awesome. His mom is a social expert funnily enough and absolutely wreck Clerk Ni in social combat, she also is aware of her son's issues but seems to be happy he's making friends. The Masters are pretty eccentric and insanely good at what they do.
I think the problem Clerk Ni had is that he thought the Zhuan's were like any other spoilt noble and didn't realize that they actually do their damn jobs.

This clan isn't just built different, it's built correctly.

The only technique I'd want to filter would be Chariot, but even that's not that interesting. I really don't want to change Nokai's gift to us.

Searing chariot would be my vote.

People are talking about turning NAO in war/steel eventually. I'm imagining war/time.
