Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
I thought we'd get another unanimous vote. But I guess the only thing we can all agree on, is going into a sovereign battle to make sure our goals are met. Even though we all know there would be CONSEQUENCES.

Doesn't she already sell Zhengui's ash poop?
Silly dirt lizard, my son is not for harvesting - my son is a renewable resource!

Tbh, the emphasis on "MY" feels a bit possessive.

I imagine that this vote may have consequences, but it's probably manageable.

It is also a direct respons on Kohatu saying "my child". LQ is not happy with that, like at all. It has kinda been building up for awhile, even before this event.

But yeah it is also LQs Way getting pinged. She is a greedy girl afterall.

Also, this is one of those rare cases where English doesn't have enough synonyms, because there's no positively-connotated form of "possessive" in the language. The Merriam-Webster thesaurus lists "jealous, protective, domineering, suspicious, envious, controlling, demanding, overprotective"... You get the idea. One positive word in the list, and even that one's somewhat sideways of the meaning.

Somewhat sideways or no, though, "protective" and "overprotective" both show up for a reason: part of claiming something as "yours" is taking responsibility for defending it from harm. And that's part of why she's getting possessive here, because Kohatu is refusing to believe that Ling Qi cares enough to keep Zhengui safe. To which "how dare you, he is MINE (and therefore I will protect him)" is appropriate!
