I like the idea of the more personal blessings, but I think long term it's more important Snowblossom be bigger. If we potentially take over as Viscount when we hit that point it would be better I think, versus having her only really helping in the seat

TLC said it best: stick to the rivers and lakes that you're used to. Let Snowblossom grow as herself. The Upper and Lower River can develop their own spirits and we can be friends with them, too!

Logistics wins wars, and infrastructure builds nations. Plus, Zhengui is going to be the size of a small mountain eventually, with a domain spreading across the land. A full river will match that better than a single lake.

This seems better in the long run. The fief is more than just Shenglu, even if Shenglu is the only notable settlement for now, and having the entire watercourse be a single spirit is better for the fief as a whole.

I still think that the whole watercourse option is better on the long term, and not just because of the ease for trade.
When, eventually, new villages are built near Shenglu they will most likely be placed along the river.
So having an unified spirit spanning a larger stretch of the river would make it easier to grant them blessings and protections.
And if the river ever gets upset and needs appropriation we can perform the rituals at Snowblossom, which would be more direct and efficient.
Though it is true that Snowblossom as the local god of Shenglu, making it more defined and perceptive to human behaviour, would make the option using of the boat to commune with her more viable.
And that's definitely the option I want for when we do the Snowblossom Shrine project.
