Consider the scenario where we want to bait an ambush of Mathilde on a city street while she waits in hiding to counter-ambush, which isn't one that is so unlikely. Sending out an Apparition with blatantly supernatural features that she doesn't already have will be less likely to succeed at pulling off that kind of thing.

Right, the seviroscope.
I'd rather make a visual one now, give it to Kragg to use, or ignore, as a tool to study the golem, and then figure out auditory ones after.

[X] [RIDER] Mounted Wraiths

Nazgûl are best of course

[X] [RIDER] Knight
-[X] Mathilde's Heraldry and Dwarven Plate

[X] [RIDER] Knight
-[X] Mathilde's Heraldry and Dwarven Plate on Winter Wolf

[X] [RIDER] Knight
-[X] Mathilde's Heraldry and Dwarven Plate on Large Tiger

But I am okay with variation of knights on Mathilde heraldry, but for cats I prefer tigers, tigers are cool

And the seviroscope before I forget

As one of the default options with the best chance of gathering momentum. Per earlier discussion, I am not worried about Hexwraith confusion as a possibility. This is totally fine.

[X] [RIDER] Mist-shrouded Grey Wizard on a Shadowsteed
A decoy option, for those who want to be able to confuse enemies at a distance but don't want to just slap our face on something we hope to codify. Boney has confirmed that the Staff of Mistery won't interact with the mist, but it can still serve the role of disguising the rider's identity.

[X] [RIDER] Knight
-[X] Demigryph Knight
I've been convinced about the value of monstrous cavalry. Demigryph over Winter Wolves because the Winter Wolves are a specific order and things could get awkward. Also, kittybird.

[X] [RIDER] Spider
It was my idea and I'm duty-bound to vote for it.

The auditory approach as a Geiger counter for magic is an intriguing idea, but I am in this for Grandpa Crankypants, and this is the thing that is most useful to him if we can get it to work.

I will undoubtedly approval-vote widely, since I am honestly fine with almost any of these possibilities, but am extremely anti the "Mathilde on a Shadowsteed" option. I'd take basically anything over that.

I think the auditory one is the most likely to get us Grandpa Kragg headpats. Because it's the most Dwarfy: Reliable, simple, reproducible, operates in a way that would be familiar to Runesmiths, and doesn't rely on any magic in the device itself to work. Sure, it takes more time and effort to use for an in-depth scan, but since when is that a problem for Kragg?

Compare that to the visual one: A one-off prototype, complicated, fidly, and it uses Wind enchantments.

I heavily disagree on this. An auditory one would take Kragg 100s of years until he eventually figures out the Runes in Bok.

Compared to just one moment with the visual one.

Just to give an example this means that anyone except Kragg and Thorek would be unable to use the auditory one to see the Runes in Bok's soul.

Except maybe at the very end of their lifespan of they dedicate their lives to it.

A Mathilde clone gives us a much more versatile and valuable tool, and gives the Colleges a marginally more valuable one. The potential downside risk of miscasts causing reputational damage is small and one I believe can be mitigated by the Grey College.

Not getting the Mathilde Rider seems like it would be squandering an immense opportunity to give us the unique and irreplaceable capabilities that an autonomous solid cone brings.

Listen. Don't Worry About It.

[X] [RIDER] A man who could look like a depiction of Ranald, though there a lot of ambiguity about it due to the smoke drifitng around him partially obscuring his face at all times, in a knight costume, wielding swords, riding a horse-sized housecat.

Aside from all the various practical arguments in favour of it this is the project I want to read Egrimm and Mathilde working on, because their Windsights are visual, and because it's probably directly going to use Egrimm's Wind, and because it's using an idea Eike came up with. The auditory version also sounds like a cool project, but I feel like it fits our cast less.

I don't feel nearly as strongly on this one. There's a few ideas I dislike and a lot of ideas I'm pretty ok with, so I'm currently voting for my top picks but will probably add a bunch of approval votes depending on how the votes goes.

The default ones i am ok with.

Because it is funny and i think/hope Ranald would agree.

[X] [RIDER] A rider formed of shadows wearing robes and a Witch Hunter's hat on a Shadowsteed, with their face perpetually obscured by mists and a cloak of mist trailing from their shoulders.

Compromise option for the people who want to make a mini/mega me, for some reason i don't really get.

[X] [RIDER] Mist-shrouded Grey Wizard on a Shadowsteed
[X] [RIDER] Misty Wraith on top of a Giant Wolf

These are cool as well.
