Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

So, I want to propose using the rune caster (or something of hers, I am fairly sure we have something) as a focus to learn how valkyries are made. We know that they are mortals elevated to minor godhood somehow. I want to know how.

I'd guess divine investment from Odin.

We have a definitive proof that god-like beings can invest power into others, with the Akuma we just killed and all their ilk.
So it makes sense that less evil deities can also make similar pacts, only without the complete enslavement.

Yes, sure, but I want the particulars. I hope this would give us a discount on Inner Devils Unleashed. I would also use one of our whampires to learn how first whamps were created.

Basically, if we want to empower people, I want to first study successful examples of similar projects. Whampires and valkyries are the two easiest to access examples.

A bit late now but part of the reason why I switched to go LoC is that I want the cloak of Sunlight in our Shintai form.

[X] Write in. Head to your base and take the time to craft a small token to remember him by. Place it in an area set aside. He will be remembered in this way.

Murphy not to freak out at the Ghoul offering to eat a corpse in the morgue for her... still holding out

Murphy saving the freak-out for the shower like a proper professional, nice.

DP I just binge-read this quest and I love it. Thank you very much for everything you wrote so far :)

I also bounced from this to From Hell's Heart, which I also enjoyed reading. Props for that one, too.

[X] Action, you will make sure something like this cannot happen so easily in the future
-[X] Get some connectivity down there, so emergency-calls from a Cyberdevil are possible. Even if you personally have to drill to the surface to lay a cable.
-[X] Next step doors, defined thresholds and some warding (Call on Cauldron, you are a member opening a new safehouse), that was propably part of the plan anyway, but now it becomes priority.
-[X] Consider plans for an actually secure panic-room in the Station, one that might work even against enemies near your caliber, though don't lock that one in yet, depending on how much money and effort that would take.

Considering Molly very much knows the White God exists, that prayers have power, AND her perspective via Lydia, I'd say she would at least want to include some proper Christian burial rites and prayers.

[X] A eulogy, you have not known him long, but for that time it seemed to you he was doing the best he could with what life had dealt him
-[x] Empathy excilancy well wet.

We should manage better then human limits easy. The audience are CODs. The really question is what message we want to impart.

A speech like that might be Expression or Leadership?

If it's the former, get Lydia's help.

This is a cultural setting moment. We will have the time to do practical things later, given that part about ghouls finally getting the chance to indulge in grief as opposed to survival expediency, I think it'd be bad to immediately go practical since that way lies trying to turn yourself into an efficiency robot with suppressed emotions.

Responding to failures by throwing yourself into fixing them is a cultural response.

Saying that you won't stop to grief, but rather make the other people's lifes safer is a statement in itself.

We looted all of the enemy's weapons, right? Their monetary value might not be all that great, but it should at least give us the start of a decent armory for our people living down in Last Station.

Actually you are right if we want to shape culture with the speech it is likely a leadership roll.

-[x][stunt]"Adam had the right idea when setting up defenses. In fact they likely would have worked against most low level supernatural threats. Unfortunately when it comes to the higher level stuff the most effective defenses require a threshold to work. Which only happens when humans are about a place and considering it a home. I realize that most of you don't have any skills in home improvement, but every little bit of time and effort you put into making this place nicer and more of a place that people want to live the safer it becomes, also be careful about invitations.". Looks over at the ghouls and white vampires "Actually that only applies to the pure humans in our group. It is something of a subtle ability they have. Unfortunately all you can really do is improve on the defenses Adam made and help the humans of our group feel more at home. Sorry to say that currently I can't provide that much in the way of protection. Only revenge."

I think that might help with our current culture Criss that allowing humans to join caused.

Yes and I think an attitude that grief is something to "fix" is maladaptive. Sure finding something to do is a coping strategy, but in actuality it leads to emotional repression since no you can't actually logic away bad feelings. For a more general case of what I'm getting at, see all the literature about interpersonal issues caused by people with 'fixer' mindsets.
