I have been convinced that since this is what we are presenting this is what we should do. Even in small things its important to keep promises, implied or otherwise. That builds trust and trust is what we need to see this thing through.

Jowkeen brought up a good point. We're getting information either way, and Jaromila wants to have a personal talk with it.

They're in a private setting now, this is a rare opportunity they've earned to mutually vent about all the hoops they've had to jump through as chief diplomats to drag this summit into existence, with someone who knows exactly what it's like from the other side.

Since, it has been a bit since the last update, let's remember what we learned from the Seared Lands delegation

She gave a small nod, she'd talked to him, occasionally in person, mostly through letters, on the subject of how the Xuan handled foreigners. They did so with a careful distance. Quarters set aside on certain Xuan Wu cities, or smaller isles and ships marked as neutral ground. They had a set of laws and treaties, a compact of behavior which all present at these places were required to follow. Being able to understand and agree to this compact was a requirement for docking. There was some kind of judicial element as well, but they hadn't fully discussed that.

Basically a shared treaty both sides have to follow and a judical institution to arbitrate disputes.
This kinda align with the Luo's demand of having more than words to ensure any pact is respected.

After learning this, my knee-jerk instict was going for the professional option. To learn how other factions inside the WS view the summit and the empire would be really useful to tackle any issues or negative impressions.
In particular I like that the option explicitly mentions Ling Qi sharing a bit of the Empire's side situation so Jaromila can do the same.

But I have been convinced that the friendlier approach is more in line with Ling Qi's LingQiness. That's how she rolls. She knows how and when being professional but feels the most confortable and gets the best results from being more casual and friendlier in informal meetings.
Jaromila is truly our counterpart in the WS. Just like a lot of the Empire's attenition is due to Ling Qi pushing the Summit hard, I'm sure a lot of the WS/Polar Nation attention is due to her own personal efforts. Fostering their relationship is actually the best way to increase the WS's interest.
It's better to have an ally inside than trying to sway other people that may not even actually listen to us nor truly take us seriously due to their prejudices.

Besides, as the update noted, Jaromila is so invested in this as we are. She no only wants the Summit to succeed, she needs it. She is stacking her reputation in it.
So, if there is something we truly need to know, she will tell us. Or at least hint it at us. So there is no need to inquire her.
