Impossible to achieve yet weirdly hilarious idea: corrupt redeem Lash, banish her from Harry's body, bind her into your service and hire her as a governess for the kids. I mean, Uriel would probably prove her credentials, I think.
More realistically - bring someone from our soul's kingdom.
I dont wanna interfere with the Harry/Lash/Bonea plot.
Though I'd much like to keep her alive as well. If only to see Dresden's various baby mamas all in the same room one day with their own kids; Susan with Maggie and Lash with Bonea.

We know our powers can have second order effects, like giant flaming wings hurting stealth even if the charm doesn't say so. So would that apply to speed? Perhaps beneficially if we use it right? What could we do with that much speed?
Chicago is 25 miles across at its greatest extent.
With that much speed we could respond to to any incident in the city of Chicago inside 3 minutes.
We could fly to Toledo, OH and back in under fifty minutes.

COMMENTARY
Signs for the Seeking
Twenty eight people. Oof. Im betting a significant number of those arent museum employees.
Thats a significant mass murder event, and one with major questionmarks about how, since the murders were apparently carried out with melee weapons, and with mutilation of the bodies during or afterwards.

Of course the Feds would be involved, even if only as support. Especially as this is just over a month after Splattercon.

Dresden would almost certainly be getting a visit if not for the fact that the times of death would correlate to when he was in Cook County lockup. And the cops already having played that hand. Corpsetaker unintentionally did him a favor.
Hes still going to get unofficial questions from Murphy.

Marcone would be running interference for Gard if necessary, which would benefit Dresden as well.
"Daad, I can literally live off chips, crackers and Mars Bars and be healthy as a horse, it's part of the whole superpower package. As long as I get remotely enough calories I'm fine."
"Think you can make that point to your mother?"
Touche
Lol.
Phenomenal cosmic power. Still subject to maternal rules about diet.
Kinda refreshing actually.

You know, one of these days Molly is going to have to spend that Dex 4/Craft 3/Excellency 7 + Tool Constructs on actually cooking the family dinner. Just to prove she can.
Soul's Rest Wellness Clinic, is emblazoned in golden lettering on the front. It does not take more than a look down the glossy pictures of smiling seniors to realize that this is a retirement home on the banks of Lake Eerie. Golden years, golden memories seems to be their motto. "Any idea what's wrong with this place. Feelings? Signs?" You could just ask of course... but you only get one question and if you ask the wrong one from lack of context there goes that lead.
Okay. Its definitely not a Blampire operation. They dont have the funds or connections to operate this openly.
The Reds are unlikely to be operating this far into the US Midwest in the middle of the Vampire War; not impossible, just unlikely.
This would require too much setup time.

The Whites could, whether Skavis or Malvora, so pencil them in as a possible.
Could also be Fae. Or evil sorcerer. Or random critter like a grendelkin or a baku-baku. Or a Fomor; coastal op.
Might even be a WoD native, not something from Dresdenfiles. No way to know yet.

Anyway.
We want to find out who runs the home, the staff rolls, and what company owns the retirement home.
And then what company owns that company, and so on. Who the ultimate shareholders are, and who actually sets policy.

We also want to get our hands on their morbidity and mortality report.
They do have to send in reports of resident deaths and reportable illnesses to the local and state health department, so getting our hands on it and comparing it to their peers will help.

Also, local police, fire and EMT department. And the 911 operators office.
If they are getting an unusual number of calls, or unusual type of calls, pertaining the home.
And finally a look at the obituary pages.

REASON
Light on Daedalus.

This is a longterm surveillance project, and not currently time-sensitive, so its a good idea to take our time working our way in to discover our current limits and how good their security is, which will reduce the DCs of subsequent attempts to achieve greater penetration. We will be going up against federal law enforcement cybersecurity; we dont want to spook them without need.

Heavy on Souls Repose.

Its a private company, not law enforcement, and that limits how good the IT of a nursing home company based out of Ohio should be. Even failure would tell us something about the amount of effort they put into their cybersecurity, and who does it, which provides other avenues for investigation.

Plus, its probably time sensitive.

If it's Whites it's propably not the lust-drinking ones for a facility like this.

I'm not quite sure what feelings a Wellness Clinic would have attached that a psychovore monster would enjoy?
Relaxation maybe, or they are literally bringing up good memories to eat them.

A more mundane option might also be possible. Not really mundane of course, or Michael wouldn't be here.
But something that is aided by a relaxed mental state, like suggestion or hypnosis of the patients for future effects.

We definitly should not limit our investigation to the events in the clinic itself, but look into incidents involving the patients later as well.

It could be a joint effort between House Skavis and Malvora. A captive audience of elderly people, all gathered together in one place, stewing in their fear of death or abandonment, despair at their failing bodies and impending mortality encroaching ever closer, that's like a buffet for those Houses.

For dessert, you also have the possibility of family members visiting and experiencing the fear of loss of a loved one and the despair at being unable to help while watching their inevitable decline. They probably offer hospice services, too, for when the end is very near and everyone knows it. Yummy!

And when you don't want to dine on the steady melange of fear and despair that permeates the facility, it wouldn't be much trouble to engineer something a bit more "tasty", actively working to incite the desired emotions in your victims, destructively even. Deaths are to be expected in those sorts of places, after all.
Yeah, but a Wellness Clinic that regularly causes costumers despair would fail rather quickly.

It must be something more positive.
It's a retirement home, one cheaper than it should be. Probably gets quite a few residents who cannot afford accommodations elsewhere. Calling it a Wellness Clinic is just putting some lipstick on the pig, so to speak.

People don't stay long in a wellness clinic.
You would quickly get swamped with bad reviews.
Would they? Its 2006. A lot of the things we take for granted do not currently exist.
Internet rating sites are not really up and running yet for example; for example, Glassdoor only became a thing in June 2007.
And seniors are not exactly tech savvy.

Plus the fact that its underpricing competitors makes for a compelling argument in 2006 America, when medical bankruptcy remained the biggest cause of financial distress.

My grandmother used to work for a regulatory group which did surprise visits and inspections of nursing homes in parts of South and North Carolina. She has so many heartbreaking stories about conditions they found in some places, how poorly residents were sometimes treated, and how lonely others were because no one had visited them in months or years.

Of course, they're not all bad and some retirement homes and nursing facilities are really great, but most of those are also really expensive. I interviewed the head chef for one of the five private restaurants at one nearby luxury retirement community/home back when I was in college for part of my anthropology major's coursework. Beyond having a really long waiting list, the starter package to live there, which basically amounted to having a nice one bedroom apartment, was $10,000 per month. This was 9 or 10 years ago, so that's probably more like $12,500 or $13,000 now.

Anyway, chances are this place is awful and we're going to find some people that need serious killing.

We aren't ready to pick a fight with the government, so slow and steady here.

These guys, on the other hand, are about to get their front door kicked in by a Knight of the Cross on duty, an Infernal, and a pseudo-Exigent. We don't care if they know we're hacking them, because they are very soon going to have much bigger problems that they can't do anything about just by knowing they've been hacked.

It is the cheapest option around and I think you're vastly overestimating the quality of the average elder care center

Alternatively, this could be "sell your soul / body for youth / health" type of deal. Or a lotus eater machine. Perhaps it's our goal here to tarnish these golden memories black. That would be ironic.

[X] [Soul's Rest] Light, track the staff and the reddens. Are the latter communicating with their families? If so what are they saying

This should get us enough juicy info, and less chance of tipping them off early.
