It's acceptable in all non-social situations. Meaning all combat, all craft, everything that can be broadly described as PVE.I feel I must point out just how situational Boiling Sea Mastery is outside combat, where anything goes.
There arent many situations where its acceptable to pour anywhere from a bottle to a bucketful of water or other liquid over our head and walk around soaking wet.
I imagine due to our issues with supernatural coldness we don't really sweat much?1) Does being wet include "being covered in a heavy layer of sweat?" I.e. does working up sweat during a workout / training / in hot environment trigger BSM if we continue to train?
I would like some clarifications from @DragonParadox though:
1) Does being wet include "being covered in a heavy layer of sweat?" I.e. does working up sweat during a workout / training / in hot environment trigger BSM if we continue to train?
2) How does "walk on liquid as if it was a solid surface" work in the following edge cases:
2.a) A layer of liquid over a surface that wouldn't be able to support our weight. As an example, let's say there's a puddle of water covering a rusted catwalk. If the catwalk was completely dry, then it would break under Molly's weight. Would Molly be able to use BSM to walk over the puddle without breaking the catwalk?
2.b) MIst and clouds. Mist consists of small water droplets suspended in the air. Can Molly cloudwalk like a little pony? It's a bit too early for her to cosplay Rainbow Dash, but the practicality is there.
Just to make sure I am not trying to hoodwink you. You do realize that this could be used as a substitute to Gravity Rebuking Grace? Not all of it, but the parts where we could walk on even the flimsiest of grounds? Like, there are tons of ways to do it:That will work, you are walking on the surface of the water, as long as it has a surface and surface tension you can walk on it
We should make a concealable hydrosuit to wear under out clothes, that would always be wet on the inside. That would just leave our head, really. We should make a few sets of clothing for various occasions. Both for looking cool, and maybe something that works will with Boiling Sea Mastery.
Wait a second! Can we walk on soap bubbles? That may be water, but it is not a continuous liquid surface for you to walk on so sadly no MLP cosplay there
I really hate that and the CCC-Lock ideas. We should make a concealable hydrosuit to wear under out clothes, that would always be wet on the inside. That would just leave our head, really.
Point of correction:Only magic secrets trigger our urge but yeah. Those were the points why I really want them.
But being able to soak at difficulty 4 with BSM as well as the blanket -1 Difficulty in combat from something as easy as pouring a bottle of water over our head tempted me more.
As I said the decision was really difficult to make. But if the votes tie, I will switch over.
I know how broad, and how limited it is. I was the one advocating that we buy it earlier. It's acceptable in all non-social situations. Meaning all combat, all craft, everything that can be broadly described as PVE.

1) Make our boots secrete liquid on demand. This lets us cover anything we are about to step on in liquid, making it solid ground as far as we are concerned.
2) Make a gun that shoots two or three wires covered in liquid in parallel, then walk on those
This certainly increases the applicability of the charm. Not too much, but a bit.

EDIT:
Wait a second! Can we walk on soap bubbles?
Whelp, one more porject to the pile: build in bubble guns into our boots. That would let us to essentially air walk without needing to roll, spend essence or flare our anima to trigger By Rage Recast: Flight. Certainly a very nice use.
- Sure that is a valid use of the charm, after all it comes with its own limitations like how much liquid is in your boots/gun
- Yes soap bubbles would work, that is technically the surface tension of liquid, what the charm does is make you infinitely light and graceful when you step on the surface of a liquid, in defiance of crude physics. The water does not embrace the infernal unless she wants it
I'd like to continue the brass-and-glowing-runes theme from our Exoskeleton and Shintai.Since flight looks like it will win what kind would you guys prefer aesthetically, onyx wings to go with your Shintai form, levitation in eerie green flame, being carried aloft by freezing winds, something else?
I personally prefer the levitation out of those, but I also really like the "walking on air" aesthetic. Like, just in general, walking like stuff like the laws of physics are for plebeians, but that's my personal aesthetic.Since flight looks like it will win what kind would you guys prefer aesthetically, onyx wings to go with your Shintai form, levitation in eerie green flame, being carried aloft by freezing winds, something else?
Esthetically?Since flight looks like it will win what kind would you guys prefer aesthetically, onyx wings to go with your Shintai form, levitation in eerie green flame, being carried aloft by freezing winds, something else?
I second this. Just plain Flight with no extras please.Esthetically?
Just plain levitation. No lights, no sounds, no effects. Let flight be flight.
The other aspects of Rage Recast are flashy enough in their own right
Personally, I would want wings, as they are additional limbs, and there's angel aesthetic to continue trolling denarians, but they'd be inconvenient: we would never be able to wear anything with our back covered without ruining it. And they take place. Levitation in green flame is noticeable.Since flight looks like it will win what kind would you guys prefer aesthetically, onyx wings to go with your Shintai form, levitation in eerie green flame, being carried aloft by freezing winds, something else?
This I actually like. Yes, let's go with this. And it's our shadow, not anyone else's, so it's ok.Oh, another option going with the kakuri theme would be having Molly's shadow tear itself off the ground and form into wings, you know if you want to give poor Michael a panic attack the first time he sees it for some reason.
Yes.Oh, another option going with the kakuri theme would be having Molly's shadow tear itself off the ground and form into wings, you know if you want to give poor Michael a panic attack the first time he sees it for some reason.
Funny as it might be to have Molly's flight mode look like Nicodemus'?Oh, another option going with the kakuri theme would be having Molly's shadow tear itself off the ground and form into wings, you know if you want to give poor Michael a panic attack the first time he sees it for some reason.
This.We want flight to be stealthy so we can use it more.
The less flashy it is, the less a target we become to guys with guns.
I like this option.Oh, another option going with the kakuri theme would be having Molly's shadow tear itself off the ground and form into wings, you know if you want to give poor Michael a panic attack the first time he sees it for some reason.
That is the flight mode of Nicodemus Archleone, head of the Denarians.
