Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Yes? She answered all those letters? It gave me the feeling that the subject was left very open... I'll have to reread it...

She answered after that.

On the other hand, the Central Valley had been upturned, there was a chaos and alarm there. Dozens of letters asked for advice on spotting and combatting ith-ia spies and impurity. There was a great deal of panicked alarm there, but also a deep well of anger. The central valley was safe. Not since the Duchess had risen had they faced Cloud tribe raids. This was not how things were supposed to be.

A grudge, in its infancy, coming screaming into the world. It made her wonder about the ones the Duchess had subjugated, and in her replies, she was careful to emphasize the name of those responsible, as a tribe and government. She shared what she knew freely, described the methods and ways she had experienced.

I also prefer Wang over Diao a thousand times but we have missed an opportunity... and what? LQ will not give information about the Ithia from her experienced perspective because the voters didn't choose that option?
It was a vote about which clan we're focusing on for the Summit, not "which clan are we only talking to from now on?". We're still gonna maintain communications with the Diao, we're just not gonna be trying as hard to get in their good graces right now as we are with the Wang.

Its just going to be harder to get them to more moderate sentiments without the opportunity. We'd have to deal, the choice is made and griping won't fix it.

I like [ ] Walk low, and know the Nightmare of Final Conquest (+1 Ending XP, Explores themes of loss with party.)
It levels up our endings concept just before we finally start working on FSS+

Man, Kongyou and Xuan Shi is literally the 'I can fix them/I can make him worse' meme made manifest.

[X] Soar high, and and witness the Nightmare of War Unending (+1 Power XP, Explores theme violence with party.)

Ugh, I really don't want to do the other one. Do you think this is going to cover any new thematic ground, or is it going to be the same themes in a slightly different context? Because I think Ling Qi is going to have a pretty easy time relating "conquest" to her time on the streets, when others felt they had the right to exercise their power over her.

Violence, on the other hand? Ling Qi knows violence, but she knows it as a brief experience. She knows the outbreak of war and she knows the fighting of an individual battle, but she doesn't know a conflict that keeps going and going and going without end. While I expect she can already emotionally relate to Conquest, this is the girl who has difficulty understanding grudges: she can't emotionally relate to what keeps a war going even when it isn't being driven by material concerns. If you want her to understand grudges, then being in a nightmare of perpetually renewed war will help her get there.

And there's Sun Shao. Because he's almost definitely going to be some kind of midboss on the way to Shenhua, and The Nightmare of War Unending could easily be another one of his epithets. It'd be nice if she understood him by then.

And finally, between the Ending XP and the "loss" theme it's basically got a flashing THE THREAD WILL PICK THIS ONE sign, and between that and the expected repetition this is spiking my sense of spite something fierce. Come on, walk the road less traveled! Let's have some novelty!
