That sounds weird.
We always work 5 times faster, 10 times faster if working with high tech but we can only summon tools if we spend Essence.
I think these are two different effects.
That sounds weird.
You have a habit of trying to needle more out of existing mechanics that I find very bothersome. That sounds weird.
We always work 5 times faster, 10 times faster if working with high tech but we can only summon tools if we spend Essence.
I think these are two different effects.
Then how do we work faster if we use existing tools? You have a habit of trying to needle more out of existing mechanics that I find very bothersome.
In this case not really. You have a habit of trying to needle more out of existing mechanics that I find very bothersome.
Mm. I saw this and assumed were angling for "Tools created by the charm should probably include higher than normal"i think the tools created by the Charm probably should include higher than normal, but not too sci fi tech. Since its from the Wicked City which is full of cyber hell stuff.
How much could be done if theoretically our tools are just better?
Edit: Also, isnt that 5 micrometers per hour at base? We work 5 times as fast due to magic.
Edit 2: Nevermind the edit.
A thought, but if we get the right type of personal hell would we start pulling tools out of that rather than the Wicked City, so the aesthetic could change?
Makes sense.By subtly improving the tools to be more like those of the Wicked City when you use them. As you are not pulling them right out of your well of essence it does not come with a mechanical cost. As soon as you let them go they go back to normal.
Makes sense.
Another question, this one I don't expect to be true but just in case.
Synthesizing diamonds uses mostly high tech stuff, even if I barely understood a few words of that paper.
Do we get 5x speed due to working on a crystal which isnt high tech, or 10x due to working with high tech?
Either or makes sense to me.
I actually didn't think of that, but makes sense.Making diamonds counts as crystal since it looks at what you are trying to do not how you do it otherwise everything would be high tech as the Wicked City itself is that.
I actually didn't think of that, but makes sense.
Choosing mechanics was actually not bad with 10x speed.
A clockwork watch does count for it, right?
In fact I was already counting on using mainly the native demons of our own hell in the creation of formori.Yes, same as with the dark spirits you make fomori out of if you take Devils for it.
Huh. So:If you can theoretically do it with modern tools and modern level tech you can do it with Tool Transcending Constructs, but it is not going to be fast since you have to wait for them to crystalize just like with modern tech and you need the charm on to give them the conditions for it. Also you are going to have to find someone to certify them.
Alternatively, take a greater loss and fence them at a pawn shop or something.
Not in our business.Volume takes more time and gives us less social connections. You want to sell prestige items to rich folks as an artisan - it puts you in contact with those people. Most expensive watches go for as much as 25 million. I am willing to bet we could break into 1 million dollar range fairly easily. We could then gift those to people as a way to establish social connections. And then sell to other people.
Five days to two weeks for diamondsAccording to this is takes a month to grow a 1 carat diamond, you are five times faster because hell magic so call it six days, six days in which you have to sit in the room with the charm on because if you leave or turn it off the conditions for crystallization fail. You would also need to buy that no sleep charm because if you go to sleep the crafting charm obviously fails.
Unlike the billions of years it takes to create mined diamonds, lab grown diamonds typically take less than a month to grow. White diamonds take the longest time to grow, with it taking 2+ weeks to grow a 1-carat diamond. On the other hand, yellow and blue diamonds take 5-10 days. It is important that the growing process is not rushed when making diamonds. If the process is rushed the crystal will fracture.
The Knights of the Cross dont really have a uniform or dress code.I feel it wouldn't be a terrible thing to make clear which side we're on. We'll have enough of a reputation as it is with the hellish imagery, so I think we should dress to match our dad in some way. You know, publically align ourselves with the Knights of the Cross.
Thoughts?
What about puzzle boxes?MONEY
1)Rebuilding cars/bikes/machines for secondhand sale
2)Making jewelry-grade gemstones from their chemical constituents we can buy at any chemical supply store.
Then finding someone who can buy them.
That's not really her default neutral though, if you look at her normal style. The Knights of the Cross dont really have a uniform or dress code.
Michael does the white cloak over armor thing, but Sanya and the late Shiro did not.
At least not that I remember.
And IC, I dont really get the feeling that Molly has made up her mind on what she wants to be and how she wants to present herself. So Im defaulting to neutral

Besides, it fits with her having gotten into two fights in street clothes.
Simple Crystal diamond growth looks looks fine, five milometers per day it is, though keep in mind that a day is 24 hours so that is at least one sleepless night to make those five milometers
A lot of your magical crafting includes the remains of powerful supernatural beings, once you get the charm for it
It's not 5 mm radius. It's 5 mm thickness. The CVD technology is used to make diamond windows. The diameter can be as large as 10 cm. See the photo I linked in the previous post (and personally I have seen larger ones).5mm radius a day is still 2.5 days an inch. thats ~5 days for 1 lens for a set of glasses (~2 inches). workable, but still slow.
It's the stuff to make good impressions on a mayor, or a Saudi prince or some such. We will probably be rapidly rising in importance and social rankings. Not in our business.
Those people dont matter. They dont have the connections we need.
And the sort of people who drop hundreds of thousands of dollars on jewelry do not shop very often, which does not help us.
I'd rather make a dollar per unit on ten thousand units than wait on ten thousand dollars off 1 unit.
On the subject of crafting, the author of ExWoD has released a chapter from his upcoming ExWoD Revised Companion on the subject, to replace the Mage system that playtesting has shown to be a bit unmanagable.
Okay, about a Ranged Option in Lanka-themes, here's my very first attempt at adapting an Exalted Charm into the ExWoD mold.
The Exalted base-Charm is Star-Piercing Spear of Glory and its prerequisite Vitriolic Corona Endowment.
Star-Piercing Spear of Glory (•••)
The Infernal calls down a spear of solid fire and light into her hand, blackening her skin even as she wields the terrible power of Lanka's fires against her foes.
System:
The Spear is summoned as a reflexive action by paying 2 Essence. Holding it in her hand the spear deals 1 level of lethal damage per turn to the Infernal until she dismisses it or the damage has passed her soak at least once. Unless dismissed the spear lasts for the rest of the Scene.
It deals Strenght +3 Lethal damage in melee or can fire blasts of energy at Essence x10 yards range (using Dex+Melee or Dex+ Athletics). These cost no ammunition or additional Essence.
Signature Effect:
While in her Shintai form the Infernal may summon the spear for 1 Essence and can also throw it (thereby dismissing it) to attack all targets in an [Essence Yards] broad path with a range of 100 Yards.
So, I mostly used the existing mechanics, changed Archery as an attack-option to Athletics because that's what V20 uses for thrown weapons and picked a Signature effect that I think looks nice.
