So then...Could Daemon himself have once been a Mon with good in his intentions and heart as well? Given how Pit is pretty much a replay of him but on the other side, I'm gonna say he likely was.
So while there's no doubt that the Old Gloaming Squad were villains, they at least had some measure of standards and good intent at first. but as time went on, every last one of them bent and compromised their beliefs until they eventually became the fiends we now know them as.

I am not allowing the Daemon Lord to freely give us a boot to the head and call it a lesson. Might let him stick a bit of sloth in us or something, a little trick that'll sabotage us in later rounds that normal healing won't pick up on or fix.

…. I think we should watch and attempt to steal this technique. It's a kick and he's shown preference to using his gun if he wants to make a point.
 
If I remember right, Maverick seems to be his more favored move, as the few times we've seen him fight, it's Maverick that he's used. and nothing else.

I mean, it seems like Daemon went bad pretty quickly since Sistermon Noir and the Vergil project happened quite a few years ago from what I understand.

Whatever slippery slope slip and slide he went down, it seems like he went down it pretty quickly compared to most of Patches and co. Plus a surprising lack of vehemence towards Daemon given what he wound up doing to his friend Shuzen. It just seems like we're seeing very little of the whole puzzle

The description of Maverick as "releasing all of the user's pent-up Dark Qi" is interesting to me. Besides probably getting Wrath powers, it might also get Lust as well, and may even be a way to calm Verge down if he's ever feeling particularly angry, since it may feed off of his Wrath in particular.

This is a fairly young server ,remember a few years is longer then the age of most mons.
Hell verge is only a few years old at this point.

It's been at least 7 years since SlashAngemon had to step up a one of the hosts leading figures based off what Ophanimon has said.

Ciel was only made after Vergil died, but has been trained for years.

And while the server is young that's a relative statement, it's still got history. I think the Host is over a century old, and that means Daemon's gloaming and Daemon himself probably had a good few decades to operate

It's sometimes translated as 'self-pity' so it's actually pretty on point of what we see of Astamon.
