We are really hurting for anam capacity. Our peers ahve far more anam.

This is easily the most powerful option here. Not only does it increase our avg. cycling result by ~4. It also significantly smooths out our expected results. The Nat 1's subtraction had weird effects on the tail ends of the outcome distribution. The core expansion is interesting, however the 10% still pale in comparison to what could be achieved by faster integration of a CON/RES(/other Phys Stats) technique. For now.

The bonus to integrated Anam sources is also very interesting. It would for now be ineffective and actually weaker than the Nat 1 negation, but we are severely limited in Time Anam sources. This is something I expect to come up when we proceed with the Farmer Step. Making the Second effectively 20% larger would be a large boon.

But I just want to point out, Running out of anam is the issue we run into the most consistently and this buff will kick in right away which will help us for the duration of this trip.

Because in the end, what usually makes us vulnerable is running dry, this gives us a fair bit extra in the long run.
I'd argue that running out of anam is normally a problem because we can only get anam from particular sources, like Natural Wonders, and it's not always possible to take time to visit them and top up. Though this is less of a problem while at the Delving Heart, it's much more serious of a problem while travelling, which I expect we'll be doing more of in the future, given our career path. Being able to cycle anywhere makes being out of anam a problem that we can always do something about, as opposed to being the kind of problem that can only be addressed by spending tons of money.

It opens up a lot more Anam aspects for us to cycle from. You never know when you'll need 5 Hunger Anam or a quick hit of Star anam. Cycling different types of Anam would also help further KZ's cultivation knowledge and could help with insights.
"Spend resources to get item X that provides anam of Y aspect" is already something we can do; pills exist, and I'd expect drawing anam directly from a material directly to be strictly worse than having that material refined into a pill which we then take. If we have mats and want anam, we could theoretically just sell the mats and buy pills.... except for the part where it seems like turning down an opportunity for future shinies. We already don't sell our mats, since there are better things we could be doing with them, so I'm inclined to think that we wouldn't get much use out of the material cycling perk.

That said, becoming able to cycle anywhere, probably get many of the same benefits from exposure to different types of anam, and once we've spent a bit of time figuring out which environments tend to produce which sorts of anam, it's likely going to be possible to get at many specific types of anam from non-Wonder sources.

Consensus seems to be for the nat 1s thing though, which is understandable.

I'm interested in not being restricted in the techniques we can learn by the availability and proximity of natural wonders or treasures. It seems like a lot of the more advanced techniques require a few dashes of exotic aspects to bring to fruition, and getting, say, a material with courage or savagery (beast and war?) is going to be a heck of a lot easier than finding a natural source.

Being limited by the availability of materials is almost as much of a restriction; acquiring a specific anam of material is already something we'd need to quest or shop for, unless other circumstances happen to conveniently drop the right thing into our lap. We can already get around that restriction to some degree by buying pills, or if we happened to have the right mats, commissioning pills made from those mats. Beyond that, I'd be inclined to expect that unless we're looking for some really exotic aspects, we'd be able to get most of those benefits from just picking up the cycle anywhere ability and using it correctly.

Well, all of these are pretty damn good. I'm not sure what to pick, to be honest.

If we go with the elimination of Natural 1s subtracting successes, we should ensure we take another action that should increase Knowledge (Cultivation) to 8 before we get back to the sect so that we can enjoy the benefits as we finish up integrating our core techs. Probably wouldn't be a horrible idea to stop at the archives in Honeydrenched Hills or Jingyi's Summit to see what we can find.
