this is an unworkable way, this way will destroy her foundation. to cultivate one gives up their humanity to become closer to a spirit. if her way is the reverse of that then she will no longer be able to cultivate. hence why we want her to work out her trauma and not enshrine this into her way

I think you missed the point about the ultimate goal of every cultivator not being white.

[X] Su Ling was doing well already, she had already turned her blood to her own purposes. Why waste something you had already stolen? Wasn't it a better revenge to use your enemy's tools against them?

[X] If Su Ling truly desired to rid herself of her mother's traits, so be it. She hoped Su Ling would be careful and seek advice and help if she was going to undertake such a project though
[X]"Do you hate it because of it's link to your Mother, or do you hate it because it's wrong for you."

this one is...wholly personal. use everything at your disposal, twist your opponents to your own ends. The greatest victory is assimilation.

irrelevant. if your way is the antithesis of cultivation it will likely mean you cant cultivate AT ALL, effectively dumping you back to effectively a mortal, unable to advance or restore your qi through normal meditation methods. if her goal is to kill her mom with her own hands she likely wont even be able to do that.

again, she needs to address her trauma, not be railroaded down a path that can seriously harm her if thats not truely what she needs or even really wants deep down

I do not believe that we should encourage the surgery at this moment in time. It is highly risky and does not deal with her internal mental trauma. We need to encourage her to look deeply within herself in order to figure out her own personal value.

Edit: Added this write-in after I saw it posted.

Ancestry is a heist!

More seriously, this feels like the line of discussion Ling Qi is better equipped to push. Su Ling's path is her own to decide, so I'm not really worried about pushing her in one direction or another. We might even give her a heart demon, which is cool!

Also, I kind of regret not poking at this issue the last time we had the opportunity, a bajillion years ago.

Cutting bits of yourself away to become something else is an ongoing theme of cultivation, Su Ling should be allowed to lop off whatever pieces of herself she wants. She doesn't have the same obsession with power as Ling Qi so the whole 'but you already have this power' just seems like an issue relevant to our character rather than hers.

She will take LQ´s advice under consideration. Good thing about yrs characters is that they usually do things by themselves based on their own values and goals. This wont be a direct "Su Ling does what we tell her" but it will probably be a factor in her decision making.
Keep in mind, one possible way it could impact her decision-making is "Ling Qi doesn't approve, so I'll avoid asking for advice or help where she'll hear about it."

When Ling Qi is sitting on access to the best help and advice locally available on the topic.

Two metal clad fists crashed together. “Greetings, honorable allies!” Gan Guangli was much the same as he had been when Ling Qi had seen him last. He had gained a few centimeters in height, and his shoulders were a touch more broad and his short blonde hair had been grown out just a bit. Yet he...

Pretty sure this is the next chapter to RR

Not really, no.

Just because she discards this brand of being a spirit does not remove her from cultivating herself into a spirit of a different kind. Remember that there is an already Ascended White person whose way was Angles (or Perfect Angles? Perfeft Right Angles? can't fully recall).

Cultivating a Way is open by design. Rebelling and resisting fate or blood or the heavens is also a perfectly valid Way.

I dislike the other option the more I read it, because "self-acceptance" and "this is really a part of you" and "please don't hurt yourself" aren't anywhere in those listed reasons--it's even explicitly labeled as "your enemy's tool," and that's what Su Ling finds disgusting about it. It's just about power, and that is an argument Su Ling is not even going to humor... And "the update won't actually go as the option is written" feels seriously dubious. I'd rather not trust that.

I just really dislike the idea of her blood being seen as this source of corruption and evil to be rooted out.

Her ancestry does not decide who she is or will become.

Choosing this. She is already pretty late in her path, her cutting off parts of her foundation that isn't a parasite or a negative will just cripple her. Also you can't just erase your ancestry like that, even more so in Xianxia. Distancing and letting it left unused? Sure, but what she is talking is another matter entirely and left alone the further she got in her cultivation the more ways she will find on how to mutilate herself which is NOT healthy. Hate and be disastified all you want, but don't hurt yourself in the process.
