I'm going to join the chorus about not using this for the Diao, mostly because while it would be helpful to get a head for who's likely to oppose Ling Qi, that's rarely going to be useful information, since she's not going to be doing a lot of interprovince work. The Meng are kind of the same, sure more information would be good, but they're so very distant that the information isn't going to be very relevant to Ling Qi's 9-to-5. The Wang on the other hand are going to be the only counts that directly border the new Cai lands Renxiang will be overseeing, and knowing about any potential hot-spots or notorious personages there will be more relevant both now and in the immediate future.

I concur with the fact that knowing our "enemy" would be better, but it would be a waste of intelligence to use this opportunity to grab data on a clan we do not yet interact often with. Plus, they do not like us for whatever beef the matriarch has against CRX, so no Diao for me.
Between the two other, I think the Meng have the more potential, but I'm heavily biased toward them due to the good impressions both the 5th realm and Moon cultivator Martial Brother made before and during the journey in the south.

I think his cultivation makes forming relationship kinda difficult, even on top of everything Bai bring in.
He is a bad parent, because Meizhen does not feel supported by him, large parts of it is Bai culture, parts of it is his own cultivation, and no doubt parts of it is Meizhen herself.
But the reasons are less relevant than outcomes in my opinion.
Also, i did not say Hou Zhuang was a bad parent, i said he was "not great".
Relative to some parents and parental figures we have seen (go fuck yourself Sun), he is goddamn amazing in some ways.
