They might have been involved in a sabotage of our personal endeavor. That's far away from sabotaging the Duchess' mission for her daughter. And even then the Diao supports Shenhua's efforts to overcome the fractitiousness and infighting among the ES nobility, which them fucking with us is very much not in line with. It's possible they were involved but we have another quest to deal with that so lets not spend our limited chance on it here.
Like, bear in mid that if we choose Diao here we might get more information of the inner workings of a clan we'd likely have a hard time manipulating than we do on clans we want to work with and need to know how to approach effectively.

While i don't consider Diao as high a priority as the Wang or the Meng, i do consider them the hardest to do anything about.
With Meng and Wang we have something in common, goals, values, shared purpose, we don't have that with Diao so any information would be helpfull.

For this part of the arc, we got enough bonuses stacked for the other options. Long term also getting to know the Diao better is something I really am not interested in seeing. They will never be an ally as long as current Matriarch is around. Even after that LQ just goes against too many of their beliefs.
We had our investment in Diao to the point where it is needed. Time to move on.

I have very little interest in the Diao. I would prefer to not make them our enemies but knowing the details of their inner workings is rather pointless.
Additionally I would prefer an approach of being conspicuous in our displays of respect of them and the Wang, such as how we are going out of our way to speak with them during the tournament. This is fundamentally not helped much by private information because the whole point is being public.
In the case of the Wang I honestly just doubt that they have much in the way of secret factions at the moment. They are one of the smaller Count clans and they appear to value being straight forward and honest. The gains here seem modest at best
The Meng Clan, on the other hand, are a deeply private clan whom we want to court as far as we can for a variety of reasons. Hidden information here would help smooth things over and broaden our understanding of them beyond the faction that we've already been introduced to.

Hm. The two clans we have the lowest reputation with are Diao and Meng (both at -1). We took an action to grant a synergy bonus to Diao, but we didn't take one for Meng IIRC. With that in mind...

Because we're about to learn about them by interacting with them? We doubled up on it, even.
We are already spending a double synergy action on them this arc. That is more then enough for our goals with them. No need to make a trippel action out of it.

Statistically better for what outcome? Also not necessarily true given we don't know what value was placed on the synergy bonuses.
