The Path Unending (A Cultivation Quest)

[x] Uncle Han's. A humble stall with an incredible beef noodle soup. The best bowl in town, and it has a gregarious owner. Perfect place for a bowl and to hear some gossip.
[x] Write-In: The Filigreed Carp: A high end pastry and dessert shop run by a set of triplets, each of whom tries to outdo the other in artistry and delectability. The anam-laced desserts are truly spectacular - tarts that burn with heatless fire, bird-shaped pastries that flap their wings and turn their head, and candies that let out thundercracks when bit into. Just walking by the shop and looking into the window was an experience itself - Father would only let you *inside* once per trip, and each time was to be treasured.

In no universe will we introduce Kumi to Auntie Bi, no matter how much we love our dear aunt

AMR can't hold mental stress.
Yes, it can:

A Moment's Respite (Rings)
Monk Charm 1 (Earth)
This set of bejeweled bone rings is your first finished product as a charm crafter. They draw the power of earth anam to allow you to withstand more that you otherwise could. Once per day, you may store a full box of Mental or Physical stress within this charm, freeing it and allowing you to continue on as if you were undamaged.

[X] Ismail's Kebab Shop. A small shop selling grilled ground meat cooked on rotating skewers and a vertical grill. The aroma of cooked spiced meat wafts down the entire street while the always cheerful Ismail makes small talk with his customers. According to Aunt Bi, it makes a terrific late night snack after drinking at the bar across the street.
[X] The Furnace. A barbecue place with the finest cuts of meat. Also, your father said it's the only place in the city that has a bar worth anything. Pricy, but you know that Artists looking for the best of Immortal Cuisine in Soaring Crow go here.
[X] Old Cookbooks. one of the place where Aunt Bi took you and where she met one of your possible uncles it is a hidden but homely place that let you read they're many books and drink warm tea while you wait your order.
[x] Write-In: The Filigreed Carp: A high end pastry and dessert shop run by a set of triplets, each of whom tries to outdo the other in artistry and delectability. You used to treasure just the opportunity to walk by the shop and look in the window at their delicacies when you were a small child - your father only took you there on three occasions, each very special

A small, gelatinous echo of a bird pulls itself out of the swan's painting. It is no larger than a cat and only comes up to your knee, but it lets out a screech of menace that forces you onto your back foot. It steps forward, flapping its wings at you, its ethereal neck twisting and darting forward like a snake.
I think he was too quick to assume all of the paintings were hostile. Swans are assholes.

[x] The Cobalt Kettle. A tea house with an incredible selection of teas, and selection of light snacks. They have a reasonable selection for Artists and it is also a wonderful place to study

I believe this is the place Kong Zhi would normally visit.

Though for Kumis benefit we could direct her to Uncle Han, hearing a gossip, or two won't hurt.

Somehow, it does not reassure you that Chui Dao agrees with you. It is a fairly odd spirit in it's own right. It calling something else strange… it feels akin to you telling someone else that they are too obsessed with charmcrafting.

Surprisingly self-aware of Zhi here. With his... arrogance one would expect that he would deny being obsessed, though this is Zhi so that may not mean much.

...or maybe you should stop being foolish and think like an Artist already.

Pausing only to shake your head at your own foolishness, you reach down deep into your core and step into the Garden.
SEG for the win! Helping us circumvent challenges since we got it!

You shrug in acknowledgement and continue. "Anyway, what is in Soaring Crow for you?"

"Spirit Beasts, what else?" Kumi asks rhetorically. "There have been whispers about a colony of Spirit Beasts living in the catacombs beneath the city and feasting on the flesh of the unwary. It's fairly standard fare, but the reports have gone on long enough without an answer from the Breath that Master has decided to send me out to investigate them."

Kumi sighs. "But that's boring," she states. "We can talk about ravenous Spirit Beasts any time!
Hmmm... it seems that an imposter has snuck into the Caretakers. The Real Kumi would love nothing more than to discuss the possible spirit beasts that may be nesting under Soaring Crow. The Real Kumi would talk incessantly about the varieties and distinctions those possible spirit beasts would have, as well as the likelihood that a specific variation would find a home underneath such a city. This Kumi wants to talk about something other than spirit beasts.

Clearly an imposter! We must alert Elder Siani at once!

Sweets shop.

That Elixir is really sweet loot. We can use AMR to hold mental stress, but clearing a box in under 24h is tricky.
The elixir means that if we have to use AMR for mental stress, we can safely avoid the Consquences before AMR expires.
