Going with this. The Diao option is a trap that locks us into a quest with a faction that does not like us, will never like us and will eat up narrative space from people that actually are, ya know potential and actual allies.
 
Diao reputation will stabilize on it's own (likely after giving us another chance to reduce their rep) but in any hard dilemma we've been pretty consistent in voting against their cultural interests and we'll likely continue to do so unless one of their factions are friendlier to us. I'm not saying it's meaningless, it's probably pretty smart, but in worlds where tribulations make for better cultivation and narrative it's not a priority for me.

I don't love another crafting tourney, the last one wasn't my favorite even if then like now Li Suyin and Su Ling hadn't gotten enough screentime. I'd like to mingle with the people we know like mouse-girl and fan-girl, see how Yu Nuan deals in a crowd, maybe give Luo Zhong another chance, make sure we really impress the Wang with Chao's endorsement, leverage Bao Qian for connections here at the event of the year where even the Duchess' travelling court will be present.

Yeah... Not willing to delay stabilising our relations. They likely won't ever like us that mutch but atleat it won't fester. Plus that trade quest involves both Wang and Diao if I remeber corectly so them not being ignored likely will help there.

Besides obviously wanting to see Su Ling and Li Suyin, I want to explore the Diao issue. Not necessarily dying to patch up things with Lingqin, however...people have been giving answers right and left on why Lingqin dislikes CRX and opposes her. We won't actually know for sure until we investigate though. Its all just conjecture. I wanna find out and then make the choices on whether we should patch things up.

It seems odd to me that Diao Clan stuff is so unpopular. Making sure our boss' mother's girlfriend/right hand and her clan don't hate us seems like a no-brainer to me. The added synergy from The Craftsmen's Tourney makes it even more appealing.

The Wang stuff is also a pretty easy pick; current quest advancement, chance of raising our reputation with our soon-to-be new neighbors, and the synergy of Boulders and Bluster letting us boost those odds (or maybe give additional rewards, to be seen what synergy really entails) all while introducing Best Boy Xuan Shi to new friends (and maybe acclimating Zhengui to him)? EZ pick.

As for the third professional option...eh. Personally, I could go either way between Meng and Bao, but since there's now a Meng amongst CRX's retainers, it might be a better idea to reduce the possibility of Meng disruption by proxy through our fellow retainer.

I think EO has the right idea with Misty Connections. We feel out a clan that has split opinions on us in the Meng, stop a clan that is in the ear of the Duchess from hating us more, and make inroads (heh) on our upcoming diplomacy project with our probable future neighbors.

The only alteration I'm thinking about suggesting is swapping the Wang personal for the Meng personal just to see dream senpai, but that would be less optimal for more !fun!
