I prefer the idea of rewarding the best and motivating the rest. Plus, maybe this option will lead to the development of a handful of prominent and competent members of the household. Whether cultivator or mortal, I think subordinates are interesting characters to have in a story, and necessary to really drive home that Ling Qi is a noble with her own base of power outside cultivation and allies.
 
Fits better imo, first tour deserves a more intimate audience.

@yrsillar, is this a tiny continuity error? LQ's mother already knew that she was in contact with the Bao Qian, although I suppose it's possible LQ discussed the trip without mentioning the business implications.
