[X] (Gender) Roll the dice
[X] Friendly and laid-back mid-teen
[X] First Spell: Physical Heal

I don't care that spell and gender might not fit the name. I'm sure Silently can come up with something.

Gender:
[ ] Roll the dice

Age and personality:
[ ] Roll the dice
If people vote to roll the dice, good luck figuring out which stat they want to roll... might want to adjust that.

I may have missed something....but why are there name and gender votes when Zeus was specified as the Familiar?
Can the spell change gender?
I've removed the name portion. As for gender, yes actually, it can change when using the spell. Many mages don't care, but it was built this way such that if a mage had a pet that's one sex but they have some kind of issue dealing with people of that gender, they can alter the resulting Familiar so as not to be constantly uncomfortable.

Keep in mind that while the spell talks about "uplifting" an animal, in reality you are creating a body mostly out of magic and then forming a personality that has traces of the animal's thinking pattern. That makes the final result extremely malleable and customizable.

Or, in the words of a song I think I've heard every day this last week when I'm driving to work, this IS build a bitch.

This is WAY too strong. Familiars can only learn Basic tire spells. This is more along the lines of a WTF spell.
Gotcha. How about this?

Why are we even voting for gender, age and so on when we did not for other Familiars?
Previously we've voted for Guardian Beasts, where you can randomize everything for extra/more powerful spells (Samantha, Cat Sith, Olivia) OR you can pick which class along with gender/personality/age and know exactly what you're getting (Nostromo and Firefly). However, the spell lists are locked and can't be affected by the players in any other way.
Familiars are completely designed by us, starting with picking the gender/age/personality and a starting spell, and then they will gain XP and participate in spell votes as if they were a Device Mage, so we can build the entire spell list.

It's basically discount Shadow Stalker, the spell...
It's really not, quite the opposite. Goldfish's original idea had the spell confer intangibility onto other as well + was only halted by magical effects, of which Arcana is the strongest game in town. That's way better than Stalker's power. Even then, Intangibility is just an inversion of Invulnerability, which is definitely a WTF spell, so I'd agree that it belongs in that category.

Maybe we can compromise on Kayleigh?
Get her Maintenance or Mass Weapons Tech?
The main issue is that the economics are better with the Gear. Mass Weapons by itself means Kayleigh can only build solid state weapons or tools. No mechashift, no power armor, no energy-based anything as she would need another tech skill to get them. Maintenance means Kayleigh can fix anything from the Basic Tier of Tech, but she can't build anything, so we would still be reliant on Tim to build stuff for her.
With the Gear, we can build standard weapons and tools, Mechashift devices, energy + laser weapons/tools, power armour, vehicles, and mana batteries. We can also choose to donate the Gear's build slots into making new types of magical ammunition for Kayleigh's weapons. And of course, should we choose to, the Gear can work with Tim and provide one more Tech slot to his weekly build vote, increasing his output.

...if you're gonna give the girl a Pikachu, then by God you need to lean into the gimmick!

(Also this vote's gonna split so hard goddamn.)

[X] Bolt Blade - Mana blade projection in form of a lightning bolt. Can be thrown for a limited ranged attack.

Would this be more "Volt Tackle" or "Iron Tail" ? 🤔

And is "Circus" a valid pick for familiar's gender? :V As I'm a bit torn on whether even sidekicks can break the "Magical Girl" squad themeing, buuut admittedly I think the magical-pet is often more male themed (Kyuubey comes off that way, Kerberus from CardCaptor Sakura, Chamo from Negima....) so it still works.

A bit hoping to outsource some of Missy's "act like a teen" to Zeus in the way Samantha also prods Taylor to socialize more too, not as sure if thats more likely with perky younger teen or 'cool older kid' ala Taylor herself for Missy.

Or Yuuno from MGLN Season 1. :D

Question for people voting for Nerve Zapper. Is this supposed to be a mid-range or short-to-melee range spell? Kind of important for a couple of different reasons.

I would assume short to melee? Like a magical stun gun/taser.
And I know the name says nerve, but as it is a paralysis spell could it paralyze things without nerves like machinery?
