The Path Unending (A Cultivation Quest)

Right. So now we have Mo potentially being the patron of a charmcrafter so good Zhuan Kun bought a charm from him. This is bad?
It is bad because if Zhuan Kun does take a liking to the charmcrafter the charmcrafter now knows he has options which means that Mo has to expend influence to convince the charmcrafter to stay with her. Also if Zhuan Kun doesn't like the charm crafter then Mo will know that Kong Zhi is not that loyal to her.

> getting in the way of Mo paying an up and coming artist in exposure by making him worth more

You're still not exactly selling me on how this is a terrible betrayal :V . Like, Zhuan doesn't play the same games she does. They aren't direct rivals in that way. This also isn't some weird poaching situation, it's effectively directing a commission in someone's direction.

If Mo wants exclusive access to a charmcrafter's efforts, she can pay for it. But I don't see why she would. She gets far more by being patron to a better known one who has done commissions for more important people.

[X] Yes, you may as well. You want everyone to be able to put forward their best effort in this competition.

This is working exactly as I intended. We are supposed to get something out of this competition beyond just being Mo's minion.

[X] No, you should not. You should avoid any appearance of impropriety.

Anything else feels out of character to me.

Magic training chambers? Yes please.

And why wouldn't Mo Hanying just ask Kong Zhi what he thought when he did what he did? She knows that Kong Zhi is authentic and can't bluff for shit. Zhi is not doing this because he wants to betray Mo Hanying. She'll think he's naive, but that's not exactly news.

This is gaining some more traction and Kong Zhi's Uncomfortable Authenticity should work for him if anyone accuses him of taking a bribe.

Can he be challenged to aim higher? To make a modular feature that allows for multiple users?

If so, it'd be of interest even if he lost, and it could feel like less of a bribe since a demonstration of multiple trainers can presumably take place.

[X] A charm such as this can only be put to the test by the best. Find Zhuan Kun!

worst that could happen is thay he says no for a cameo or asks for an appearance fee

Something that comes to mind, if giving the calibrations to another is truly on the table, is the dude that got saved from the Phantom Point.

No clue what happens to him now that his "sudden" growth has vanished abruptly, but it seems like a nice thing to do/keeps a possible nemesis in view.

Giving the charm to Zhuan Khu is not a good idea, this competition is for Mo's benefit. I say we let him measure us, the charm has a bunch of flaws. What happens if we get stronger in 1 week? What happens if we change our combat style?

I say we take it:

A frown twists across Bihai's face. "Are you certain?" he asks. "I would not wish to burden Jai Fa with my words and my presence if they are not wanted."

You blink at the frank admission and can only sit in stunned silence. Is that… is that self-awareness? You had not truly thought that Bihai was capable of such a feat.
We need to actively befriend him. He's an actually decent guy.

What really captures your focus though is his face. There is no other way to describe it: Boil Guozao is a remarkably fair man. His cheekbones are high, his jaw square, and his eyes a striking green. Now that you are actually looking at him, you wonder how you missed him in the first place.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

YES YES ALL THE YES

Ves himself said the more we put into this contest, the more we get out of it. We should benefit as much as possible and take this.

If we're going to have it calibrated for a noble, it should be for Mo, not for Zhuan.

Why in the world are we not going for it? We've already established Zhi as a character willing to do whatever it takes to get his prize.

Zhuan Kun is obscenely rich. He probably already has a bunch of toys that completely overshadow this.

I'm honestly disappointed
