Sasuke definitely wouldn't leave willingly. The thing with canon Sasuke, on top of having a cursed seal eating away at him, was that he felt like he was falling behind, having lost to Orochimaru, Gaara, and then Itachi in short succession while watching Naruto surpass him. The hokage was dead from Orochimaru, the Leaf were weak from the invasion, and Itachi just brazenly walked in to break Sasuke's teacher and traumatize him again. He felt like the Leaf was completely incapable of helping against Itachi and that their training wasn't enough, so he had to take drastic measures. Orochimaru offered him power, so he took it.

Here though he's been part of a close team of peers for several years running, hasn't suffered as terrible loses, is growing at a good tempo, and is generally in a better headspace. Orochimaru's canonical offer just plain wouldn't work. He's not getting into Orochimaru's hands without getting kidnapped, which would be hard to pull off at this point. The power of friendship is just too obvious and undeniable right now for him to reject it.

The Trenchcoats would have to get pretty creative to get him to leave. If they just want him to leave getting Danzo to chase Sasuke and Hisana out of the village might work, but angling things like that would be tricky with Tsunade having no reason to go along with anything Danzo likes. Canon is kind of broken beyond the point they can just show up to exert extra force on things. Too many people are dead, relationships are too different, and so on. They can't keep canon on track without personal interaction, which Hisana is a constant threat to even if they tried.

That Jonin in Snow did have suspiciously good information on Hisana. They might have tilted the odds there a little to have her die in combat while still weakening Doto enough so he'd get finished off.

But such a calculation is hard to make and they missed by a bit.

We need to get FIT. Also I'm curious if she picks up anything more on 8 Gates and integrates them into Hurricane seal.

I'm advocating for an unusual vote spread here. the reason is because in my opinion, both the talon and armour are things that will be picked up and improved later on inevitably, the gai/lee training feels like a mystery box that might open up unusual growth options, and additionally, right now seems like one of the few opportunities to train with gai and lee for any large length of time without badly affecting the growth of our other skills.

On another level however, we hardly see any ninja at the high levels of combat who fight without the use of taijutsu and throwing weapons occasionally, and even though hisana could make fighting without taijutsu work to an extent, it would remain a glaring flaw in her fighting style that others could exploit and take advantage of; At the highest level, flaws are what get you killed. Personally I wouldn't see Hisana doing too well fighting sasuke and naruto at their strongest if she cannot use her arms and legs to fight, since she will be very locked into a single mode of combat. Attaining better taijutsu skills would also involve a certain level of body training, which turns this vote into one for three methods of body/speed improvement (assuming speed does actually increase from it).

Personally, the concept of a high level ninja unable to fight hand to hand is one to be considered crippled in a core skill, so i'd prefer we change the skill from crippled to average at least before we enter the big leagues.

From a perspective of overtones and ideals, most fodder ninja are demonstrated as inflexible and very vulnerable when forced to use an untrained skill, in comparison to the protagonist or antagonist characters that are far more flexible. Even if Hisana becomes capable of making up for her piss poor tiajutsu skill, it'd feel off since it'd give off too many fodder vibes in the sense that there is less variety, and she is forced to avoid situations where she would fight in taijutsu - Thus giving control of the engagement to the enemy should such a circumstance occur.

Well, hello there. I guess my glee over Wind Chakra Shroud leading to us being able to access the bullshit that is Chakra Cloaks/Armours wasn't unfounded! This could be very useful to cover for our weaknesses in unarmed combat.
Oooor we could develop the armor sets we just looted which rely on our sealing skill.

the fact that it will lead to work on Orochimaru's cursed seal seems like a nice bonus...

The Lightning Blood Seal is awesome, but also has significant flaws, flaws which have been pointed on film. There's a very reasonable chance that the next significant fight we'll have will be against someone who is aware of these flaws, and will try to take advantage of them. Let's make sure they are the ones who receive a nasty surprise, rather than us.

The other significantly flawed yet highly important part of our arsenal. Whereas Lightning Blood Seal just generally makes us a lot more capable, Beast Slaying Vacuum Talon is more of a... problem-solving tool. It's usually not relevant to our combat performance, until we encounter a problem that can only be solved by using it. In fact, there are many times where BSVT isn't just "the best solution", but "the only solution". We cannot afford for it to have significant flaws that can be taken advantage of, or we will eventually encounter a situation where it bites us in the ass.

I'm reasonably split between this and researching the Chakra Armor, and think there's really good arguments for both. Taijutsu is a weakness of ours that will inevitably need to be patched up, and Gai and Lee are pretty ideal people to train with. I wouldn't be surprised if this would also up our speed.

Also, Gai and Lee are wonderful, and I want to see Hisana interact with her fellow "genius of hard work".

As for the chakra armor, though, I'm interested in it for other reasons than to just have chakra armor ourselves. Its kind of a "mystery box" research-wise: we don't really know what we might learn from it, but for all we know, principles from it could be used to significantly improve certain aspects of our Sealing. We won't know until we try.

Another thing I think people are overlooking about researching chakra armor is the fact that we have enemies that will be using it, and by studying it, we become better able to defeat those enemies. Chakra armor has gaping flaws that our allies were able to take advantage of, and it would be nice for us to be able to do that as well.

Still, I feel like the "Taijutsu with Lee and Gai" is the more time sensitive option compared to studying chakra armor, and I think it is greater in importance.

...One thing I will mention, though, is that I may be underestimating how much getting the Sword of Spring devalues "develop Beast Slaying Vacuum Talon" and "learn Taijutsu" as options. A sword that can reform itself does fix a significant problem with Beast Slaying Vacuum Talon, and it means there's one less way we could be forced to fight with Taijutsu rather than Kenjutsu. I will think more on this: perhaps I'll change my vote later.

Re: the trenchcoats getting Sasuke to leave Leaf, the obvious method would be to just kidnap him, perhaps during a mission like the Land of Tea race. Then gradually brainwash him using Sharingan genjutsu or something until he's committed to reenacting the actions of his canon self as closely as possible.

That would be really unsatisfying and forced, though. This kind of power was astonishing even among the Mangekyou. There's a reason why the Kotoamatsukami was such a big deal in canon, even when it was limited to one use per decade. Considering this and how much effort into keeping our team stable and united, it wouls feel really cheap to just have this reversed because lolsharingan.

At this point, it would be easier to have their super special Uchiha OC play out Sasuke's role in Shippuden.

I did say "gradually." I'm not talking about something on the level of Kotoamatsukami. We've seen other methods of eroding people's free will to some degree, including Orochimaru's Curse Marks, Sasori's Memory-Concealing Manipulative Sand Technique, and even some applications of generic Sharigan genjutsu. (Perhaps the most extreme case is Obito's control of Yagura, although he may have been especially vulnerable as a Jinchuuriki.) These kinds of methods have their limits (the Curse Mark didn't stop canon Sasuke from killing Orochimaru), but they're the most plausible path the trenchcoats have at this point.
