A lot of the recent thoughts Ling Qi has had towards her friends is related to trust. I say we trust Xuan Shi

Because this builds off previous interactions that have Ling Qi trying to learn how to trust others, and might give Ling Qi more character development in that area. Also given how important the stories of the hero who wielded the sword are to Xuan Shi I think this is one trial that is crucial for him to overcome himself.

Let's not pretend we actually know anything but the name of the author, and his slightly questionable love-nest ahem, and do what we were aiming to do in the first place : point Xuan Shi in the right direction and watch him nerd out. He'll be fine.
