Going to have a chat with Depression Sword is the sot of thing it is possible to do wrong. Having Xuan Shi aware of what he's walking into reduces the chances that he'll do it wrong. The inevitable expositing that will occur reduces the chance that Ling Qi will do it wrong.

Admittedly, going the other way might give us more of a clue about what's going on with the nightmare spirit, but....

I have no memory of when the decision was made to invite him anywhere. Can someone link me to where the vote for social options was?

Also, anyone remember which chapter we found the sword?

Surprises are best when you know exactly how someone would react to them or want to probe them for a reaction after all.

Given the atmosphere of the site I can't really see how this would go well unless you literally feed on his shock.

Both have a chance of going bad, really. I just want him to nerd out in front of Su Ling and Li Suyin.

Hmm gonna go with this, Qi herself has no idea the nightmare spirit is malicious to Shi so she may intuit something from conversing with him rather than having her ears talked off one-sidedly by a nerdgasm is my reasoning.

I think Ling Qi is atleast suspicious.
Though i doubt the conversation would lead to suddenly figuring it out if not, and (Get your ear talked off by a fan, learn more about Xuan Shi personally.) kinda leads to me to believe telling about the destination giving a better change of learning about the spirit, or atleast having better tools at our disposal to deal with it when we do.

Also i want to see Xuan Shi go full fanboy, actually having Xuan Shi go full fanboy is my main reason to vote telling him (also i kinda dislike surprise destinations most of the time personally).
