right personal perspective he's in love and putting in effort is a good place to start. And on a more important note from a strategic perspective we could really use a strong ally to put together a faction that gives us the fire power to act on a strategic scale. Ensuring we have a good relationship with them will be extremely important.

Personally I think putting in some work with his dad would be very worth it and potentially could lead to some serious magical goodies.

I think we can trust them to stabilize their city. and because it stable stabilize the region. which puts us in a fairly good position all things considered.

Disappointed we won't be able to work with Jasmine from the get go but that's workable.

Honestly, I could go with the alternative path regarding Jasmine, but Aladdin is going to need to put a fair amount of effort into self-improvement to be an effective ruler and mechanically having that one extra personal will probably be useful.

I'm glad I was able to break my block here. And really happy to see that people are enjoying the update. For those of you asking about the dagger, watch "Aladdin and the King of Thieves". That'll answer all your questions.

I am curious as to what people think of the whole interaction between Iago and the Sultan; and how they think it'll affect things going forward for the bird.

Heh, yeah the Queen of the "Galafems" and the Sultan were in fact a cute couple. Whether or not they meet here... well we'll have to see.

Yeah, I rewatched some of the cartoon episodes and did some deep diving on the wiki to expand him out. I'm of the firm opinion that the near-incompetent we see in the first movie was because Jafar had wormed his way into controlling the greater majority of things in Agrabah, leaving the Sultan at loose ends. He also trusted Jafar implicitly, so his guard was pretty much non-existent when it came to the man, leaving him exceedingly vulnerable. But even then he was able to shake off the hypnosis when it came to Jafar trying to force the engagement to Jasmine. With Jafar gone he'll be kicking the rust off and seeing to the ruling of his kingdom again.

yeah it's been a long time but the update reminded me that yeah he was actually a good guy and not just a bumbler. Iirc he used to be a badass in universe and took down and then looted magical power armor.

look forward to having someone trustworthy to work with world's scary enough as is.

The magical armor was his ancestor's; but when a minotaur attacked the city and Aladdin couldn't defeat it, the Sultan donned the armor, even though it was cursed. He ended up possessed by the spirit of his ancestor until Aladdin was able to break the curse by tricking the Sultan into destroying the anchor for the spirit. But yeah, he was quite the explorer and adventurer in his youth.

I don't trust magic enough to just leave behind something that was so important to Aladdin forgotten.
