My big question regarding this option is what "conservative" means in context. Are we talking the Meng and Luo, along with the other Weilu conservatives? The "Imperial Conservatives" faction? If this pleases the Imperial Conservatives then that's amazing but I don't see why it would.

This mostly seems like a great way to get a lot of foundational work done, such as learning their language in truth and a justification for infodumps in the future. It also helps everyone understand the landscape of the relationship better, potentially laying the groundwork for an exchange of people in a couple years. It is the grounds we made the talks back at court in the first place, so it would help show that we were serious about it.

I agree with Abeo, having someone join us is a really big responsibility that I'm not sure we are currently up for. For starters they'd almost certainly have to meet Shenhua to ask her for permission and protection. That's not really an experience I would wish on anyone at this point.

This would also be a huge gift to the Meng which, if we are really throwing our weight behind the Weilu faction, would potentially be a good thing? They've been fairly sidelined in the current political political landscape, this would basically guarantee their political relevance.

Lots of typos in this interlude. Don't have time to point them all out, though.

I wanna go for the exchange student. We wanted Ling Qi to be a bridge to the spirits and the humans in the empire. Doing so for the still human southerners seem like a good foundation to start on.

I mean, both ES and polar gates/white skies seem to have a lot of conservatives, so this is actually a fairly large target group we are talking about. It just doesnt feel very personal to us

On the one hand, we can maybe exchange one of our boys for a girl, which would be a clear improvement. Also, they would be an exchage student. However, we wouldnt be the exchange student staying with our new friends, so im a bit sceptical

Yuan He's declining lifespan is probably related to why Jiao picked Argent Sect to be his retirement home. Gotta have at least one Prism hanging around the battlefront between Empire and Cloud.

I wonder if it would be possible to use Imperial or Cloud Nomad spirit binding techniques (or some combination thereof) to bind a ShiShiGui to a human cultivator as a familiar. With the intent being that the familiar could act as an active purification system for the Cultivator by drawing the impurities out of the Cultivator.
