we really need to hit the smugglers network guys...and i strongly suggest we go live against the spy networks. Playing "nice" will only go so far before we get hit with a briefcase nuke.

The problem with the spy is we don't know who his handlers are, if he's alone or which organisation he works for so if we just strait up grab him now then by the time we can get anything out of him his handlers and any other agents on planet will disappear into the woodwork and we'll be left with nothing, the slow approach may be frustrating but it gives us an opening to take down the whole thing rather then playing whack-a-mole with the less cautious agents who are very likely to be distractions so that the competent ones can have fun while our backs are turned.

Anyone have any input?
I would like to start the "Target Smuggler Network" Action this turn but I'm not tied to it. Also, you have two(2) open research slots that should be filled. I would suggest any of the following (Primitive Energy Shield, Selective Defoliants, Long Range Sensors, Improved Warp Drive, Ecological Adaptation, and/or Stealth Coating).

[X]Plan: Diplomacy comes in many forms

Whoops forgot the X's.

So which should I drop to afford "Target Smuggler Network" the Hasta cruisers or the Damascus carriers?

The problem is that its not practical nor effective, defeating spy networks like that is like trying to make a sandcastle in hightide your going to lose. Operation FLUSH is a perfect example of this, and while we are competent i doubt we'd do much better give our limited resources. We are far better off overserving and containing infiltrators and only moving when absolutely necessary.

This being said i have concluded its probably one of the following, no one else has sufficient reason to or in the position to try
1. Comstar -possible but why would they go this way when they have many other avenues of infiltration/spying?
2. Fed Suns - We spooked them, they are enemies to our ally, they clearly have a taste for our tech, and they have the second best covert ops groups in the IS
3. Taurians - unlikely given how noticeable he is being and that the TC is getting alot out of our alliance but possible.
4. Civilian- Companies, nobles, pirate groups, etc.
5. Celestial Mandate - possible but given their current state i doubt it.
6. Wolf Dragoons- Wolfnet is a thing despite it making no sense and they are in the local neighborhood and have a qusi-presence in the area canonically from the BT game.

2. Fed Suns - We spooked them, they are enemies to our ally, they clearly have a taste for our tech, and they have the second best covert ops groups in the IS
While that is true in a technical sense... its often enough seems to be more the Taurians are their enemy, not vice versa.

The FedSuns at this point, after having cleared out one enemy... are gonna be more focusing on fighting the Dracs now.

If the origin is from the FedSuns... its less likely to be MIIO [or at least central MIIO] and more likely to be the Haseks running on their own authority.

Well it is a difficult choice, but seeing as we are currently building the Hastas to replace our workhorses I would drop the Damascus for now. We could say the production was slowed due to the weapons smuggling crackdown/rooting out, which it is.

[X] Plan Petrusite, October, and Gustave's
-[X] Active Monitoring.
-[X] Weaken Economy (Pact) [Easy]: By utilizing agents seeded throughout Caliban, we can weaken the economies of target by debasing their currencies with forgeries.
-[X] Offer Joint Exercises: With a hostile power to their north, the people of Rockwellawan might be open to joint exercises between the Republic Army and their own militia.
-[X] Expand FTL Comms Network: Having had to promise to link Coromodir to the Republic's own FTL communication network to secure the Aurigan vote for the Mutual Defence Pact, we should build said link ASAP. [Progress: 1/2 turns] [2 Turns Remain Until Negative Effects Occur] [Action Point Locked Until Completed]
-[X] Expand FTL Comms Network: Having had to promise to link Taurus to the Republic's own FTL communication network to secure the Taurian vote for the Mutual Defence Pact, we should build said link ASAP. [Progress: 1/3 turns] [2 Turns Remain Until Negative Effects Occur] [Action Point Locked Until Completed]
-[X] Expand FTL Comms Network: Having had to promise to link Canopus to the Republic's own FTL communication network to secure the Canopian vote for the Mutual Defence Pact, we should build said link ASAP. [Progress: 3/5 turns] [2 Turns Remain Until Negative Effects Occur] [Action Point Locked Until Completed]

-[X] Survey Helghan for Additional Petrusite Deposits: With the news that Petrusite deposits will eventually regenerate, now is the time to resurvey old mining sites and look for new ones. [Progress: 0/5 turns] [Action Point Locked Until Completed]
-[X] Invest in Battlemech Construction and Maintenance Facilities:
Though the Republic currently has a standing force of battlemechs on Helghan, the parts needed to maintain and repair these vehicles must be custom made to order or else purchased from our neighbours. With the help of some additional funding, we can order work to begin on a factory complex specially designed to construct battlemechs. [Progress: 2/3 turns] [Action Point Locked Until Completed]
-[X] Construct two Hasta-class cruiser Squadrons: Task your shipyards with constructing Six Hasta Cruisers. [Can be taken multiple times a turn]
-[X] Construct a Damascus-Class Carrier Squadron: Task your shipyards with constructing a squadron of Damascus-Class Carriers. [Can be taken multiple times a turn]
-[X] Construct a Damascus-Class Carrier Squadron: Task your shipyards with constructing a squadron of Damascus-Class Carriers. [Can be taken multiple times a turn]
-[X] Raise an Army: Task your military with forming an additional army. [Can be taken multiple times in a turn so long as there is recruitable population remaining]
-[X] Contact the inhabitants of New Oslo
-[X] Colonize Charybdis [Progress: 159,744+1(?)/500,000] [Action Point Locked Until Completed]
-[X] Research
--[X] Double Heat Sinks [2.87/6]
--[X] Advanced Petrusite Theory [3.8/6]
--[X] Basic Power Armor [4.14/5]]
--[X] Anti-senescence Therapies [3.15/4]
--[X] Selective Defoliants [0.15/--]
--[X] KF-Drive [0/--] Write-in: Invite ORDI members to join the effort
-[X] H405 Keyzer: A worthy successor to the venerable StA-52, the Keyzer continues with Helghast weapon design tradition by melding a bullpup rifle with a high-capacity drum magazine to create something halfway between an assault rifle and a light machine gun. Taking into account feedback from the Helghan military, Hephaestus has motorized the magazine to allow for faster reloading and have introduced a variety of attachments ranging from ACOG scopes to underslung missile launchers.
-[X] Combat Vehicle Design: Alligator Support Tank

-[X] Combat Vehicle Design: Matriarch Defense Tank

Edit: changed plan A little swapped out arc redesign for another set of carriers.

or some fedsuns Corp, the easier tell would be if the mole takes an interest in anti air tech, then we'd know for sure, or in Autocannon tech in general

Again there are a lot of actors that could be responsible for the spy, even then the spy might genuinely think he works for somebody and that might not be true either

*sigh* probably for the best, I really want to get a least a squadron because their our newest design but I'm not married to the idea so I'll edit the plan in a bit.

Don't you just love spy games where your handler was working for your nations enemy, your supplier is a simulation and your love interest was a duck in a trench coat on stilts.

Is there a reason why this doesn't have anti-grav tech?

@prometheus110 what's the maximum weight our AG tech can handle.
Cause it's an amphibious tank basically it's based on the old LVTs for support on river crossings or beach landings I saw having anti-grav as not needed and just more weight for the tank to have to handle also I do have two other versions of the Alligator waiting that if it's choosing for this turn That I will be slowly phasing in.

Also I was checking over you plan and you might want to adjust you're Infiltrate army cause you have it as infiltrating both Khan and Pact which I believe is two actions. I caught I had the same problem and fixed it just letting you know.

So basic over view of my plan is weaken the economy of the Pact it's obvious by now that they are on the loosing side and really the Khan hasn't shown them selves so far as being as bad as them. Ofcourse working on getting Rockwellawan to join us over time.

Petrusite well I gone into it before Feel it needs to be done, hope it shows us what to look for to find petrusite on other worlds and feel like we've been kicking the can. With the Damacus and Hasta's with the declaration that the Workhorse is obsolete and being pulled out of service we need to start building up the replacements while redesigning the arc cruisers to make better use of new techs.

With the Army like I've said before we're starting to expand and having to spread our military out that we are about to be stretched thin on defense so we need to expand our military forces to secure our territory. Contact New Olso because "you have stolen weapons give them back or be conquered".

So research and procurement. Chose Selective Defoliants because I want to get to the end of that branch because while the animal life is an Issue the Mir Blight was a dangerous problem so probably need to take care of that. KF-drive with Inviting the rest of ORDI well we have had multiple discussions on way getting KF-Drives is beneficial to us and the periphery as a whole.

So for the Alligator um just really need to look at the top of this post to understand it but yes it's a support tank meant for river crossings and beach landings to provide armor support before heavier equipment can be put in place.

The Matriarch I've talked about this in my last big post but the Matriarch is suppose to be a mech battler I was inspired by the tank episode of MS-IGLOO when I was building it originally but also the thought of well mech's can't be everywhere so what happens when you're forces encounter a mech but you don't have mechs nearby? Well the Matriarch was the answer to that and for those saying it's layout isn't the best I am working on different variants and upgrades for the future. And the Keyzer well time to get a new rifle to our troops.

We really should open relations with the FWL - with both the Lyrans and the Feddies focused on the Combine, and the Cappellens effectively taken out of the game, they're now facing genuine freedom of action for the first time ... ever, really. This could be bad or good, depending on what they decide to do with the potential threat brewing on their Periohery borders - we should attempt to reassure them that the ORDI isn't something they need to worry about.

Ah thanks for that I've corrected the problem.

Interesting though I'm not sure if AG can't do the job just as well if not better.

I'm still for holding off on that until we have a proper joint research program going rather then the ad hoc thing we have going right now.

Interesting though if this tank is based on the YMT-05 Hildolfr (that is the tank right?) wouldn't an AC/20 be more appropriate then the AC/10?

You're welcome. Well to do AG i would have done it as a hover and surprisingly Hover and amphib takes up alot of room and tonnage.

For KF Yeah I can se where you are coming from but I see it as doing sooner means we can get proper Joint Research Programs faster by doing it especially when things like PA(L) is completed then DHS well help boost for us pushing for those. Also I'm working on the fact that this turn PA(L) and Therapies finish so we have two slots next turn.

As for the the tank not the Hildolfr but the feddie M61's Hildolfr would probably be an arty support vehicle. Note with the M61's being the original idea behind the matriarch I was going to have it two AC/10s but that was too much weight and didn't allow me to really up the firepower.

Maybe wait a couple of turns for DHS to be available then replace the AC/10 with a second large laser as they weigh less and taking out the ammo also saves some room, it might even leave enough room for a PPC.

@coyote16able As much as I like your plan and it covers a lot of bases we need to cover but maybe swap something out for dealing with the smuggling problem. As much as I hate to say it, maybe swap out the Damascus. Many of those options are already locked in and we need the Hasta cruisers built, we need the extra ground troops too given our expansion. Redesigning the Arc cruiser is long overdue as well in my opinion, sure its arc cannons can poke big holes in enemy dropships but it's been around since at least 2359 (around a year before the end of the Second Extrasolar War) and is based on a ship that takes its design from at least 2190 with the policing vessels built by the Helgan administration before the First Extrasolar War.

I've only just realised that the old Workhorse design is possibly 194 years old now and has probably just been updated over time. Hell, given that the original ships of the Helgan militia were repurposed colony ships (which when we see them look exactly like the Workhorse) the actual design for the ship may be over 257 years old. That's dating back to the original settlers arriving in Alpha Centauri so maybe add a year or 2 for the ships to be built in Sol. Given how similar in design the Arc cruisers are they're probably just a variation on the original design making the original Helgan Corporation colony ship the most produced ship in history in all its variants, though I imagine some BT designs outdo it.
