[] Speak of Zeqing as a person, and the insights you gained from interacting with her
[More personal, may be difficult to articulate. More open, may prompt more personal responses in turn and unpack issues regarding Hanyi.]
This should be easy. We have an art specific for this purpose.

Honestly, Qian seems like he'd be more interested in Zeqing as a musician. The fact that it's be easier to talk about is gravy.

Bao Qian is starting to figure out what he's really got himself into here lol, feel so much for the guy right now.

Eh, its not a lie per se. Sometimes, things you know in your heart are hard to parse with logic and/or words, even to yourself.

"So, you know when you see street urchins afraid and downtrodden, alone and looking out as if the whole world is against them?"

Erm, not really, "...yes?"

"I want the opposite of that."

Bao Qian sweatdrop

This is reminding me a bit of the conversation we had with Meizhen, when she admitted she just couldn't completely understand our position having never believed she would really be allowed to die during her training, even if you get the idea logically actually knowing it isn't really possible for a Noble.

I'm inclined to go technical rather than personal considering he has a real interest in it, we need to learn, and we aren't close (yet?).

Ling Qi needs not to be on the backfoot badly. Like I suspect the trouble is that...Well?
The Sect isn't a bad start for new cultivator lineages, but this whole 'suddenly nobility!' thing probably tends to translate to getting thrown in the deep end without much time to adapt. Does not help that Ling Qi is 'Prime unwashed masses' here, what with being a former street rat.

I am really interested in unpacking issues regarding Hanyi. She seems to be very different from many/most spirits and getting the insights of an outside Cultivator about how different she is/isn't would be very informative.

There... doesn't seem to be a lot of people Ling Qi can talk about traditional imperial music? most of her friends either don't really like music (CRX, Meizhen), are commoners (Suyin, Su Ling, Yu Nuan...) or spirits. It would be nice to learn a bit more about the actual culture when it comes to music, given Ling Qi is, you know, a musician.

Oh god this is not going well, even with the successful composure roll. And things being already this awkward, I think finding some common ground by talking about music might for the best here. Going "full open" after clamming up for the first half does not sound like it'll lift the awkwardness one bit

Culinary cultivators
Confirmation of culinary cultivators! I was already playing with the idea of drafting up some culinary arts

Ok, I really liked that update. Again we see yrs shine when it comes to character interaction and drama. Some really nice characterisation from LQ, and Bao continues to be very good. An interesting insight there that a lot of the reason LQ is so tense and standoffish isn't just that she's copying Meizhen, but also that she's constantly stressed out over fucking up looking like a good noble girl.

I'm favoring musician tbh. Like Ark, I would like to focus on music and discussing more - and I also feel that while we managed to get through that conversation ok, it would probably be better not to stress LQ's nerves any more here.

Changed my mind. We've already stretched ourself by going on this date at all, let's not go too crazy all at once. It's more important that the interaction go positively as a whole than that we squeeze the maximum amount of personal intimacy from it.
