Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

I'm pretty sure SW has OoC banned Missy from getting a template due to the amount of work they've already put in, but I'd have to search to be sure.

She did explicitly say that, but now that we know about Laura's Rare Skill, it's possible she was teasing us on who she was really talking about. Until we see the result of her LCM, discussing whether to give her a template should really be tabled.

Also, now that we know that we only have two viable candidates for a Template(Kayleigh and Standstill), my desire to give Kayleigh a template has gone up enormously. I like the gun wielding D-rank fighting alongside us, but there's a huge present sitting over there with nobody to unwrap it, too.

Mhm. This is also a good point. Kay is also on our team, unlike Standstill.

If it takes 10 build points then doesn't that mean it's going to be two build sessions anyway? (6 per build session)
Yeah, but we might have things for Tim to build for whatever reason, and I'd prefer to get the necessary Devices built ASAP. If we do decide to use them to make a Template for Missy or Standstill, the less drains Tim has to deal with means the faster we can get the new Template ready.

This is why I kept trying to get some Armed Devices built to stockpile for Templates in the last build. People largely seemed to ignore it. A week and a half to build the materials, a retcon in canon for Lacey making giving out Templates the old way a major risk, and that having enough Devices means we only need to wait two more weeks to give out the last template means we really need to get started on building the Devices to stockpile. After giving out those two templates and possibly getting Standstill as a full member of our team, we'll be able to get all three template mages a spell out of every fight.*

*TG doesn't count since it doesn't level up on combat.

I don't see why Missy having Cat Ears / Tail / Whatever strictly NEEDS to even cost a build point..... because that would only be if she requested it later to 'complete her look' or something.

@Silently Watches said they only made the LCM give hair-only because they wanted to leave the other details to a Vote.... okay, we're voting. Edit a line or two in the last chapter or have them show up later as the genetic changes work through, whatever.

But people should be voting on whether or not it adds to the story, not be scared away by some aggressive trolls making heinous accusations and harrassing them, and not (in this case) because they need to munchkin every little build slot no matter if we'll need two build weeks already or if they want Taylor and Tim to go full Burnout-Panacea route with the Grey Boy bubbles.

I do not understand why anyone would vote for this over Burn the Sinners.
Probably cause we won't have our team ready before we go to war with the Fallen if we start Burn the Sinners right now. Besides with three branches of Fallen families to hunt, BtS really should be it's own Arc. I'm also assuming that SW put Daddy's Little Girl as an option for reason and I don't want 'What if?' in the back of my head.

If it didn't cost a build slot it could be different, but it does right and now and so must be taken into account. It's also kind of dismissive to just label anyone on the other side of the argument as trolls or munchkins.

Taking Burn the Sinners now is more to start information gathering so that we can strike later, rather than immediately attacking now without a full team.

That is not possible after the "Bend the Rules" vote results.

Incorrect. SW allowed somebody to reroll, and they did so, successfully giving Kayleigh an ordinary D rank without the 'no template' result, obviating the 'bend the rules' vote. That's why there was no results post for that vote. It was even rendered moot before I got a chance to vote on it, though my vote would have been to let the roll stand rather than bend the rules.

Link, please?

That's option 1. Option 2 is
[ ] Bend the rules

If we do this, I just handwave the rolls away and Kayleigh gets a D-rank Linker Core. No muss, no fuss. This does come with a catch: despite being a D-ranker, she is not a candidate for a template. It's not great, but with the redesigned Device system and some ideas for gun stuff, we could work with it.

Anyway, I'll leave this out for people to talk about.
And this discussion is now moot because @Megagulp took my offer to roll the dice one last time and came up lucky.

Honestly, could we not just go for cyber-neko Vista? :p

Robotic cat ears she can clip on or off as she desires for better hearing and some sort of hacker Jack for a tail?

It'd only require some sort of neural links for them to hook into, and there's absolutely no problems pulling off that sort of highly invasive and fiddly surgery... right?

Alright, so we can give Kayleigh, Standstill, and Missy Templates. Good to know for the future. I do think we should see the Linker Core Missy has before we make any big decisions though. After all she could have another Triple A Core complete with Rare Skill! May be not Ice Affinity, I don't think we'd get another exact same skill set, but Missy might have something else, like a Summoning Skill or a Regenerator Skill!

I'm pretty sure SW wants a least 1 of them to be a normal device mage just to show off what such a mage can do, so I guess it does depend on Missy's Mage Rank.

we didnt use it in an endbringer fight because damage was too widespread right? we could train our control over it? unless im mistaken or remembering wrong

Nope. Only Standstill is in consideration for template.

Kayleigh and Missy are basically vetoed from being Templated by Silently.

Because Silently likes the idea of magical gunslinger Kayleigh and the GM also has a plan for Missy's set up.

I was going to say this, but you beat me to it. One point though: Kayleigh already has her device, it just hasn't been handed over in story yet. That's done. Templating her was possible but we've not gone that path.

We didn't use it in the endbringer fight because Ragnarok's settings are A) 'Destroy that thing and everything around it, the destroy it some more' and B) 'Destroy that thing, that thing too, also that thing, and fuck that city'
We happened to be fighting in a city at the time. One we didn't want to literally nuke.

[X] Bone of the Father – You have heard whispers of several new gangs taking up residence in Philadelphia despite the PRT's and the established gang's best efforts. One may be interesting than the rest. Be available if you need to help out.
[X] Burn the Sinners – The Fallen made a BIG mistake ruining your vacation. The Protectorate should have the most information on them out of anyone, and you need that info to make the Fallen wish they had never been born.

[X] Everything Is Better With Nekos – Spoke too soon! Missy mutates cat ears and a tail matching her hair colours. -1 Tim Build Slot later.

[X] Participate in Law and Order event as a social activity instead of as a main activity.
[X] Hang out with another character(s). This is by definition a non-combat activity.
-[X] Laura, Kayleigh, and Missy. Visit Earth Aleph to introduce Magical (cat)Girl culture and show off the benefits of Team Taylor to wavering recruits

On the catgirl vista thing, I'm not actually interested in adding actual cat parts, I'd be more amused if it was just her hair naturally shaping into cat ears via stiffer hair follicles or something as part of her mutation rather than actual cat ears additions/replacement.

[X ] Explore another world. If you do not select a world where Taylor has been or already knows about, one will be selected randomly.
Random option - Questmaster go wild! :)

Edit - Made optional selections part of social votes.
