Just as a heads-up, while MSS now has Government in its Passives, it lacks that as a Keyword and instead still has Politics in its place.
It won't loose what it currently has and it has some combat applications, but it is primarily support in a way that the precog one isn't. So yeah area awareness vs. 1v1 precog for combat stuff is accurate
alectai said:A quick question brought on by discord talks It seems to be that the "Oracular hints and nudges" would logically be in Casual Diviner's Poise as that's the one that deals with precognition, but there seems to be an argument coming up that "No actually it would be in the one that focuses on clairvoyance because that's the utility one". So, the question basically boils down to "Casual Diviner's Poise is combat focused right now because combat precognition is the easiest manifestation of it, as we were told by Xin, and it'll branch out as it's developed", or is it a strict "Full combat vs non-combat" divide here?
yrs said:combat precog is the simplest manifestation, so yes one is precog, one is clairvoyance
alectai said:Thanks, just trying to hash out what people want to go for. It does start dipping into non-combat a little bit at the late end though, right? Just like how the other version mostly focuses on utility but still has combat applications? The "Gambling while knowing the odds" part that Xin also said?

I mean the goal is to have both, eventually. :^Tl;dr when it comes time to vote for CDE+ just vote for what you find a more interesting direction for LQ to explore; Shenhua-like area omniscience vs being a jedi.
Idk if its possible/feasible to eventually learn both versions of the CDE+ successor art.I mean the goal is to have both, eventually. :^
Ling Qi knows when you're awake, she knows when you've been bad or good so be good or she kill you a year before you can do anything.
I'll note that what we do about MoSS is in many ways completely seperate to the argument over PMR vs MSS vs PMR/MSS.I for one do care about our ability to interact more with spirits, especially since a big reason for our success is the continued favor we get from them
There is a good argument that MoSS might also help with Sixiang, Zhengui and Hanyi, too. Like, making sure we actually understand each others as well as we think we do.I'll note that what we do about MoSS is in many ways completely seperate to the argument over PMR vs MSS vs PMR/MSS.
There is, I think, broad agreement that we want it. The question is where it falls on then priority list. There is a strong argument, I feel, for dropping 1-2 AP in it in a few months for large marginal gains. Beyond that, however, things get more complicated in terms of how the investment/return curve shifts. Level 3 costs, what, another 2 ap? Then level 4 is probably 3-4?
As you say, spirits can be super useful, but it's very much a gamble.
Once we know what SSC means by "rewarding dealings with the spirits of the world" though it will become much less of a gamble. We'll have some concrete information on how our cultivation art rewards us for interacting with spirits and MoSS will be incredibly valuable in having a solid art in which to better communicate with said spirits. As you say, spirits can be super useful, but it's very much a gamble.
