The constant long term source would be in that we have the grandest temple of the Divine Marriage that they're hyped up on from having been converted, so the pious capable of affording it would likely come to take a visit. If we don't have the Oracle with them then there's no such conversion, elites would come consult the Oracle but the Divine Marriage would still be a weird Italiote thing on the whole.
Alternatively, we synergize the oracle with the temple, generating an ever-increasing stream of pilgrimage to both as the divine marriage spreads through other means like trade, immigrants to colonies, and the eventual stadium/league games.
In any case the quibbling over a minor point of exaggeration of the kind that Eretrians would tell themselves about their city has any bearing on my argument why exactly?
Because at the core, I don't get why the people voting for this would prefer it, because It's a difference of preferences, so I'm flailing wildly.

We aren't sending immigrants to Kymai nor the new colonies, the only window into the Divine Marriage over there are Pharos and Issa which we're agreeing to colonize less and give away the land of to make the new additions stronger. Also, they have substantial population from Lykai that waters down the Divine Marriage. The stadium will almost certainly have to wait until we get the sewers done, as well, given how that vastly outweighed the stadium option in the vote, and who knows how tempting the next tier of Great Works from the Drakonid or Exorian factions will be.

To me it seems we'd be set up much better to spread the idea around if we have centers for it on both sides of the Adriatic. We've done our job well in Italy, but there's nothing for it in Hellas and Illyria. That would change if we had some figure of religious authority over there.

Thus far we've been setting up a relatively decentralized league of strong cities with strong cultural and trade bonds linking them rather than trying to make a tyrannical Delian league expy with Eretria at the imperial center lording over the rest, I'd prefer to proceed on that path.

All true. All reasons why conversion will be slower. Still no reason to rush and sacrifice what is still ultimatly the better long term option.

I too want a strong, decentralized league. That's why being the cultural center of that league is so vital to me. If we don't intend to exercise economic and military dominion over our allies, then once they become our equals, our status as the cultural center of the league is the only thing we have left to influence it.

Friends, we have been given the honor of hosting a oracle. An honor that many would pay dearly for, especially for one such as the Sybil of the Divine Marriage. The fact that some of us here would choose to refuse this honor disappoints me. But it does not surprise me.

For it is Eretrian generosity appearing again. The same generosity that spurred the entire Kymai expedition. The same generosity that causes the Ekklesia to shrink back from claiming a spot in the sun, and instead give what would be a cornerstone of our faith, our divine marriage, the union that our fair city was founded on, to others. Indeed, only Eretria would respond to the fates smiling upon her with the request, 'Oh no, favor another!'.

Fair Eretria, generous to a fault, she gives everything away so that there is nothing for herself. It is no wonder then that her sons lash out in fear of being left with nothing. And as there is none as generous as she, Eretria will choose to be a side character in the epics of others.

I do not wish to choose this fate.

Thus speaks Heliodoros, son of Giorgios.

We're separated from them by a formidable sea, and we don't culturally have that much in common. Living apart in this era tends to only magnify differences unless there's specific action to work against that, so I would much rather that we mend this while it's possible and we're still coasting on their goodwill rather than trying to convert cities of hundreds or thousands by jumping on the occasional elite seeking guide from an oracle. Furthermore, I am plenty fine having the Oracle accessible but at arm's length to not constantly meddle in the affairs of our city but still give flavor once in a while.

They'd have one oracle on us but are basically starting from scratch out there, while we have not only all our existing works but are adding to them every four-five years with huge scale projects. Even their max potential population is dwarfed by ours and we still manage a huge growth rate. That's a lot of inertia working in our favor that they'd have to overcome to usurp us.

Two deputies, more stability, no possibility of nepotism.

Thus speaks Heliodoros, son of Giorgios.

It is a test! It is all a test! By granting the League their privileges, their Synedrion, their regular meetings, we have made them stalwart comrades in the phalanx. By granting the Metics their privilege, their Prytanis, their right to own property, we have turned them into loyal cornerstones of our Polis. By giving away grain, talents, ships, and effort to save Kymai, we have crafted from their ruin a friend of Eretria who will not forget our kindness in their hour of need. We spend our talents, and for each talent that we spend our purse grows heavy with two more. For each privilege we give away, we become that much stronger. What metic would open the gate to an invader? So that they might go elsewhere where they have no Prytanis, where they cannot own property, where they are heavily taxed with no recourse, no relief for their grievance?

What league city would go elsewhere, where they are just a vehicle for tribute. Where they have no Synedrion, no right to bring grievance and requests before the Assembly? Where if they rebel, uncaring and absentee masters would put them to the sword for daring to disturb them?

No!

Even now we turn our eyes upon Korinth's setting sun. Even now we count the days until we can meet them upon the Adriatic and drive them from what is ours forever! Eretria plants trees whose fruits we shall never enjoy. Not us, but our children, and their children besides. We do not hoard these gifts for ourselves, but share them for others. For as they grow strong, they in turn make us strong as well.

What greater rewards await us, and our children, and their children, by sending away this gift? By turning and passing it back to Kymai, that they might know the fruit of our rule? They will know that though the yoke be placed upon them, it is a light yoke, and they enjoy the fruits of all our labors at the paters table. All partake at our table at the end of the day. The work is hard, for us, and for all who labor for us. But the rewards are real. The trees our fathers planted now bear fruit for us.

So let us plant more trees for our children. Let us build a world were all who call us suzerain know we are worthy of the name.

So says I Arkadios.

Oracle would enable us to do more divine shipping wouldn't they?
While the Kymians would be somewhat unhappy, we've been forthright with them the whole time and so taking the Oracle isn't TOO terrible.

Four vote divergence between where the Kymaian Sibyl will go to, in favor of the site of Nea Kymai for now.

SKANTARIOS: Fair Arkadios, you do rightly note that we have been very generous to friend and foe alike, but past actions need not dictate present ones, and indeed, here past actions obviate the need for present ones. Those of Kymai do know, through our generous actions, that we are a city who knows and cares for its children, as any good father should, and that we care to share the fruits of the harvest even with those who perhaps may not have the best right to them. Knowing this, they are rendered content, and sending the oracle to them is both superfluous and unnecessary.

If the Kymians cannot content themselves with all that we have presently done for them, than it is unclear why affording them the oracle will change matters at all. Thus, we may in good conscience present to the oracle a home in Fair Eretria knowing that we have dealt fairly with the Kymians, and that any umbrage they might incur is a fault in their character and not in ours.

Having the Sibyl of Kymai in Nea Kymai is not an indulgence of Kymai, but rather part of a strategy to insure that the Divine Marriage as the core of the Epulian cultural zone is successfully transplanted on the other side of the Adriatic where the League stands to pick up a number of new members who do not recognize it. Planting it in Nea Kymai insures that the comparatively large city there will start out under the sway of the Divine Marriage and its ethos, and that Melaina Kerkyra and Epidauros will pick it up quickly. If it spreads further southward it also offers opportunities to exert influence in Epidamnos and perhaps Kerkyra itself. There is every chance it will also begin to spread into Hellas, greatly expanding the pool of potential colonists to the Adriatic already exposed to the Divine Marriage and accepting of its implications; and that will make knitting together a cultural union of the Adriatic even larger than Epulia alone far easier.

We gave away the chance to provide them a common cultural framework by sending in Epulian immigrants. That would have actually been less intrusive to them, seeing the disparity between the number of citizens who consider the idea in either case. The way to get any sort of commonality left to us is then to convert the existing people who arrive onsite.

If we allow them exception from league laws and then leave them without respect for the Divine Marriage on the far side of the Adriatic with other cities which also disrespect it, we are not engendering strong cultural ties between our league members which leaves it quite vulnerable to falling apart later on. Furthermore, if we greedily hold on to the Kymaian Sibyl then we give up on the chance of a local spiritual center spreading the Divine Marriage down the Illyrian coast towards Hellas such that some of the juicy potential additions down there will be more accepting of our league oath and not consider it as some ridiculous Italiote folly.

We want to spread this, as we hold the biggest temple for the Divine Marriage and so any pious person who gets initiated into the idea has much more reason to visit us on a pilgrimage. Other Italiotes are already on it, there's more fertile ground for the idea to spread elsewhere.

I dont get the joke. Do you think the metics are not loyal? Do you think our strength derives from something other than our explosive growth and large population of metics driving our finances?

Is there anything about my assessment of the metics in Eretria that you disagree with?

I do not think there is a great deal of risk for Kymai to supersede Eretria as a cult center to the Divine Marriage, especially given players invested heavily in the Hill of the Divine Marriage to ensure there is some cultural capital in Eretria. However, there are obviously advantages and boosts to keeping the oracle in Eretria as opposed to Nea Kymai.
