[X] Plan: The Might of the Cai

Gank has some weird assumptions, like that Six can speak to someone several hundred meters away. We never seen such range from them, at best they could talk to people in the same room. And that it wants LQ to coordinate a plan with her grand war skill of F. Let those actually good at it like CRX work out plans for themselves here.

No, in both plans we link up with CRX' forces to buff and approach as a group. Using sixiang is about their privacy tech, to avoid having the enemy listen in on the plan, the attempt to split the two works much better if it comes as a surprise. And if CRX has a different plan, thats fine, but Yrsillar asked for us to make a plan, I don't think "we don't, let CRX do it" is the right answer to this vote... Narratively, of course LQ would go along with whatever plan CRX comes up, that much is obvious.

I think having Ling Qi be in the battle against the Green 5 from the start might make a bigger difference than her joining in with her spirits halfway through. The beginning of battles is the most important part, at least in the video games I've played recently.

  • [X] Plan: The Might of the Cai
-[X] Begin the Spring's End Aria bolstered with Echoes of Absolute Winter (With relevant Arts augmented with Joyous Toast), and clear the board and airspace by detonating Traveler's End, taking advantage of the paralysis effect to Lunatic Whirl any of the surviving Third Realms or enemy rangers to neutralize them. Regroup with Renxiang and company (Recalling our Beasts and playing taxi if needed) to face the rogue Bai, and support her and the platoon with our arts from Harmony and Thousand Ring Fortress, relying on Zhengui and Hannyi to be contest his own Spirit Beast's control of the battlespace with the support of the rest of our unit. If we get a chance at a sneak attack of Call to Ending, take it, otherwise, let our liege take the lead here and back her as best we can.
    [X]Plan Gank the Snek
-[X]Use the TE AoE damage to eliminate the bandits and clear line of sight for CRX, take care of any leftover bandits still looking to fight while we link up with Cai and buff. Have Sixiang ask for permission and coordinate our plan to take on the snake with CRX. When CRX and her soldiers join the battle and distracts the Bai, have Hanyi draw the snake spirit while protected by LQ and Zhengui. Zhengui and Hanyi should keep it in place as LQ uses FSS to eliminate it as fast as possible. After defeating the Snake, join up with CRX and her soldiers to fight the Bai. LQ should use FSS as main attack, but use FVM to trap him, if it looks like he will run

    [X] Simple five-point plan
-[x] immediately detonate TE to even the odds and clear the way for our troops. See if we can catch the Bai in the blast with a quick dash forward, but don't worry if he avoids.
-[x] lock down the greens with LW
-[x] move to support Renxiang et al. with defensive buffs (though don't spread expensive techs like HRA around on everyone - keep those to the greens)
-[x] Hanyi: ranged dps support. Help our troops fight the bandits if they need it, otherwise Zhengui. Do not pull aggro from Bai or his snake.
-[x] Zhengui: keep snake busy while Renxiang and we engage Bai

Mmm, I don't like leaving Renxiang to fight a green 5 by herself. There seems to be a lot of assumptions in the snake plan that the troops won't be busy fighting the bandits, and I'm not sure that's safe to assume.

I also think that a buffed Zhengui can keep the snake busy fine.

I think that she and her army can do it. Sure, soldiers might die, but that will happen in all the plans we currently have.

In addition I am quite confident that we can defeat the bandits with TE given how we were already able to overpower their spiritual defenses and B damage on top of the damage from this turn should be more than enough to defeat most, if not all of them. The only ones with an at least theoretical chance to endure are the 2 greens and I expect that LQ can finish the fight against them before the stun effect against them ends.

And about zhengui vs snake: I doubt he can actually win that, he can only delay and that means there continues to be a green 3 threat on the field. Zhenguis taunt is really expensive, requires close range and lasts only a short time. That means he probably needs support from Hanyi to contain the Snake. And since we already commit both of them to this, then we might as well have LQ join in on it

This chap would have worked a lot better if it had been from the Point of View of one of the Early Green leaders.
I feel this was a missed opportunity.
Omake opportunities.

Also why are the plans to detonate TE not using JT to up the level? It might even take down some high level players.

Since a one on one between him and Renxiang is really more of a three on one, thanks to Liming and the Sword Spirit. All of which are at least at Green Foundation, the same as her.

Its not exactly an enviable position for him to be in either, given Ducal bullshit :V
Maybe not safe, but hardly terribly disadvantageous.

Yo @Yrsillar

Do Liming and The new Sword granr multiattacker modifiers for Renxiang?

YrsillarTuesday at 6:58 PM

They can

Liming and the Saber Spirit can grant Multi-attacker modifiers for Renxiang since theyre independent entities.

That ought to be enough to patch over the two realm difference a fair bit should it come to a duel between them.

Also, wow if we do pop the TE SP attack, how is that gonna look to the army following us.

"Whohooo, we finally caught up! Now it is time for glorious combat agaisnt these vegabonds!"

*Ominous mists abruptly fade away. All the bandits are laying motionless on the floor.*

"...Fuck."
"As my mistress Cai has requested - one enemy force, suitably delayed."

Yeah, that's fair.

Given how well she held out against Sun during redux despite still being yellow, it's not unreasonable to expect her to do fine here.

Yeah, even if its just a stalling game while we wipe out the enemy snake and the hangers on as Qi batteries, Renxiang should prove more than capable of holding her own while the rest of the party simplifies the equation.

As far as the killing thing? Right now, we're here to back up our liege. If we want to angst about it with her later in one-on-one discussion, we can do that, but right now we should be backing her up... and she herself straight-up indiscriminately disintegrated a decent number of them as her "Hi, I'm here" move. If she wants this set of bandits kept alive, she's doing a really bad job of showing it.

I mean, if some of them survive long enough to be interrogated, unraveled into their constituent parts, examined thoroughly for useful data, and then woven more or less back together so that the shambling nearly-human husk that remains can be publicly executed as a messaging tool? I'm not going to be upset by that or anything. Having a few live is probably a good thing. Still, it's likely that a few will live regardless, unless we're checking the kills to be sure (we won't be) and we don't really need more than that.

As far as votes go?

{JK} Plan: Screw the Rules
{JK} Stay true to Ling Qi's first loyalty, the snakes, and attack that annoyingly bright light.

Either way, flat-out revealing himself and claiming to be a Bai was two stupid moves that'll hurt him.
He doesn't expect to lose, if he did then he would have quietly slipped away. Announcing he is a "Bai" gains him advantages if he wins (like he expects), and if he loses he'll be in a horrid position either way (claiming to be a Bai doesn't make things much worse).

That he's slightly overconfident and decided to reveal himself is something I totally believe given he's (probably) a Bai (with pride and power that entails) and green5 and he has more greens on his side and a larger army (with 9 (-2?) household troops). It's not hard to see how he can look at his forces compared to these uppity peasants and expect victory.

Hmm, I'm a little concerned that the 'Bai' will flee once he sees the majority of his backup mooks dead... Should we maybe take the initiative here and try to engage him instead of going back to link up with CRX after the TE bomb? We stand no chance of actually winning of course, but if we rush at him, we should be able to stop him fleeing and CRX should catch up to us pretty fast. She can take over the offence once she joins the fight.
