Vortex Isle Conflict Concluded?

Get ready for some purrfect news readers!

The Blessed Host has scattered Vortex Isle's forces to the four winds and claimed yet another great victory in their war for justice! This short conflict was brought to a close when a grand subjugation army led by the venerable BishopChessmon halted their attempt at summoning up another wind barrier. Meow. Talk about scary! Who knows what those temple fanatics could have done with something like that!

Don't tell the other wind temple this readers, but this kitty is glad the Host wiped out those annoying birds! And I'd have loved to sink my claws into them too!

Be sure to thank the brave heroes responsible for bringing this victory to fruition! Remember the Mutant Gryzmon responsible for driving off Wolfmon? Well he's back and meaner than ever! According to sources within the Host he deleted the Legendary Warrior Chackmon. I'd suggest any others watch out, he might be coming to kick your tails next. Keep this up Bellator and you might manage to get a fanclub soon!

And don't forget! None of this would have been possible without the Locomon Union! Nyah, breaking the treaty really blew up in their faces and if anymon reading needed a reminder of why it's a bad idea, just keep reading! Sources have confirmed that the Legendary Warrior Shutumon ordered the deletion of several Locomon that were transporting Host forces. And in response, The Union was roused for the first time in a decade.

Their Rep GrandLocomon crashed right through Vortex Isle's vaunted barrier and while Information is scarce, there are claims that one of the world's Megas, Griffomon has been slain! And if that doesn't ruffle your fur we have accounts of him moving on to demolish the Temple venerating the Beast Spirit Of Wind. A true tragedy that such an old structure was destroyed, but let it be a warning to all you out there thinking about interrupting the network. That treaty is in place for a good reason! Make sure to paws before even thinking about breaking it!

Even after finishing the article, your stomach continues to twist in disgust. Whatever Shutumon ordered or did, the thought of destroying something so important like one of the temples is... just wrong. After all, while you hadn't visited them, Gramps apparently had. They'd been important to him.

And GrandLocomon had just destroyed one.

Then there's how they twisted what happened into a *Victory*. Bastemon hadn't mentioned how many of your allies had fallen, or how BishopChessmon had stayed behind for everyone else to escape. Even the praise heaped upon you feels... hollow. Murdering Chackmon after his defeat wasn't something a hero would have done.

You sniff once, holding back the now familiar anger while Sparks flips through to the back page. This one bears another... odd image of the supposed author and just like before, he rips it out and shoves it into his bag. You're still utterly confused as to why he's doing this, but the uncomfortable nature of the topic keeps you from satisfying your curiosity. In the end you just shrug it off and continue walking with the one-armed mon.

=

Three days had passed since your encounter with those oddly familiar digimon. And with the enemy forces defeated, you'd finally received some time to relax after the week's less than stellar events.

My thanks to... the Ten? For that? Not sure if thinking this is okay considering what happened with Chackmon... do not think about it Verge. Calm heart.

The supply fort your squad had temporarily been assigned to isn't exactly the most comfortable place, lacking a proper gym. Heck, you can't really even fit inside any portion but the Trading Post for twenty-two hours of the day.

But with that said, even the courtyard is sheltered enough from the howling wind and the guards are nice enough to bring out *tarps* to keep you dry when it rains. At the very least, this makes your own Kata training quite easy, there's plenty of space after all.

HolyAngemon had flown back to Alt City the day after arriving, so you'd lost the chance to ask him about the investigation about Lunamon, Thresh and the others. Something that while infuriating, was also oddly relieving for some very strange reason.

Ever since the battle ended, Pit has... changed. Your cheery, fanatical friend has thrown himself into training like never before, even cutting his *preaching time* to continue sparring. An odd change, but something you can understand. By your guess it likely has to do the fact the Host had to retreat, or was triggered by him seeing the ridiculous power Shutumon wielded. Either way, it means that the angel has spent most of his time with Beat and that's unlikely to change in the future.

You just hope this doesn't lead to the Stingmon joining Pit's eternal crusade.

On a slightly more positive note, the Greymon and Sealsdramon pair from before actually managed to both survive the battle. Despite never personally interacting either very much, it's good to know that they both made it out okay. Though the pair wound up being transferred away since the other members of their squad were deleted.

In other news, Imperius Angewomon is loving having her Ultimate form back and lets every digimon in the area know it. The wommon spends a good portion of every day *strutting around* (at least that's what Sparks called it) which somehow gets her free drinks. Many of the other digimon seem to like looking at her even more now and you even caught Pit blushing when she pulled him into a hug. You try very hard not to think on the subject.

The rest of her time however is spent training with/on HippoGriffomon against the garrison leader, a small round digimon that you might have thought to be a rookie if it wasn't so powerful.

On the second night there, she took your squad out for something she called "Group Therapy". Which consisted of buying everyone drinks, then airing out her gripes with the "Fucking Idiots in charge" to the squad. Sparks was the only mon who actually liked it and even then you're convinced that's only because he thought it was funny.

Though... you have to admit the barrel of *Sweetened Mead* she bought you was quite delicious.

=Inside The Blessing Host Trading Post:

"And that's..." The Tailmon in front of you pauses for one second to pluck away at an odd buttoned device on her counter. "Five thousand, two hundred and fifty Bits for you Bellator Verge. Please give me a second to ring it up." The small Beast digimon grabs a bit chit from beneath her desk and plugs it into the little machine. One point three seconds later it lets out a little *Beep* indicating the odd arcane process to have finished. "Nyah? Why is it over seven thousand?... Oh! Lucky you mister Bellator, it says here that you've got a bonus from the Cherub for *service beyond the norm* cool."

Service beyond the norm?... Perhaps for Chimairamon? Or Chackmon...

The feline flinches back, turning anger into confusion at why she'd react that way. But before you can ask, Sparks coughs once, drawing her attention his way.

"Hrmph. Our last discussion ended with thee investigating the subject of mine trade. Tell me then, the relevant information, has thou found it?" The champion tilts her head at his words, eyebrows furrowing in confusion.

"Whaaaat?"

"Hrmph." Sparks reaches inside his Satchel, yanks the Digimental of Love out and slams it onto the desk.

"Ooooh. That! Yeah uh, I have figured out how that works Initiate and talked it over with the bos-I mean sergeant Pidmon. Not your sergeant but..." she trails off, practically withering away under your friend's glare.

"Enough of thine trivialities, tell me the Hosts price."

"Yeah, uh right sir! I calculated the fees for transportation, paying those involved and consider-"

"The cost. What 'tis the cost. Speak."

You eye the clearly uncomfortable feline and wince in sympathy.

I'm uh, sorry about Sparks. He's... just a bit impatient with this.

"T-ten thousand bits." She gulps, "A-and that's with the soldier discount. If you were an ocifer it would be less but-"

... ocifer?

"I need no more of thine prattling. 'Tis a concept I understand. Thine price will be payed."

"It shall." You agree looking down to regard the bit chit on the counter.

"Think naught of it Verge, mine wealth can cover this fee."

You:

=== Choose One:

[] Insist on paying all of it. It's not like you need that much money right now anyway.
[] Insist on paying for half of the price. You did swear to help him out after all.
[] Insist on paying a quarter of the fees. That way you still get to help out and Sparks gets to cover most of it.
[] You don't like doing this, but fine. Let him pay the entire thing.

Choice of how much Verge wants to kick in. Sparks wants to pay most of it.

Verge seems like he'd actually have a hard time with not contributing anything.

Also... darn it Verge has all this money and no spider bois to look after... I miss them already.

We're getting pretty high up there on those skills!

And our first talent upgrade since evolving!

We already were a massive help to Sparks on this matter, what with obtaining that Digimental as a loot drop, so I'm cool with letting him pay the rest himself.

Let's honor Sparks' wish. And there's a lot to unpack here, so I'm gonna need some time.

So, this mean that Sparks is getting the Digimental of Courage? Reducing the price by using the captured Digimental of Love?

He's basically covering the entire price with the Digimental of Love. The 10k bits being paid now are the two way shipping and handling fee.

Wonder if we can do a training action with both Pit and Beat together, be a group thing.

Don't tell the other wind temple this readers, but this kitty is glad the Host wiped out those annoying birds! And I'd have loved to sink my claws into them too!
Okay. This implies that there's a second wind temple. Which, I think, means that each of the Spirits is kept in their own individual temples, one for the Human spirits, and one for the Beast spirits. And if each temple has at least one Mega in it... Oh man, if they all band together that's gonna be bad for the Host. And any City-States that support them.
Keep this up Bellator and you might manage to get a fanclub soon!
A fanclub may actually help Verge's stability, or it may hinder it, especially if it's made up of mon that are drinking the zealotry kool-aide. A mon asking him excitedly about how he beat Chackmon could lead to a very public dressing down and description of exactly how Chackmon looked before he died. Of what he said, and what he implied. And that he must have had a reason for it. A pebble does not fall on its own, erosion and gravity both work to set it in motion.
Something that while infuriating, was also oddly relieving for some very strange reason.
Verge has made the connection on a subconscious level already. Maybe Ardat's virus is messing with his perceptions, or Repulsa's is.
You just hope this doesn't lead to the Stingmon joining Pit's eternal crusade.
Little enough chance of that, Beat is too grounded to fall for zealotry.

Huh, I guess getting her old body back has made her a lot more affectionate? Either that or she's just really enjoying teasing the other mon.

Okay, the Tailmon got a laugh out of me for that.

Say drex I've been meaning to ask among Mega how strong is Hi-Andromon? I ask because it apparently has a further evolution that's a royal knight (Craniumon) which while good for esbalishing a power ceiling doesn't do much for it's average.

And even the power ceiling might not be accurate if Craniumon happens to be one of the stronger royal knights or gets a boost from evolving from an actual Hi-Andromon over say a Knightmon.

We are bros and partners, so going in as equals seems like a fair way to help and show our support here.

Verge would want to help, though Sparks got a share of our big bounties too, so not TOO much.

Hunny!

Good news is, information on them should be up relatively soon!
Wonder if we can do a training action with both Pit and Beat together, be a group thing.
Theoretically possible now that Verge has more self control. But he wouldn't get that much out of it, since he's currently just a lot stronger than either mon. Hehe. For now at least.

Hi-Andromon comes from Andromon which is considered a rather powerful *normal* Ultimate. I do believe that Inphysicslly pegged them as roughly same as Vamdemon in terms of physical power. So Hi-Andromon would roughly be a step above soemthing like a WarGreymon, Rosemon or metalgarurumon.

So theoretically at least we're talking about having some stats in the mid-high double digit thousands.

I've pegged Craniumon to be around the level of Dukemon/Gallantmon, (not counting the Mode Change) and slower, but more enduring.

As for the species. Yes normally a Craniumon that evolved from Hi-Andromon would be stronger than one that evolved from Knightmon. It would have lower multipliers, but the higher base number would edge things out still. Kind of how I'm handling getting a digimental as a rookie versus getting one as a champion.

So... no discussion about what's happened in this update? not even about there apparently being twenty different Elemental temples out there? What about ideas for how to help Beat? C'mon guys, let's not just vote and ghost.

Not much other than this means their might a 'natural' elemental warrior of wind running around like their has been for a lot of the other ones.

So if for whatever reason all temple spirits are in use would could have around 36 LW mon running around.

..... Thats a lot of legendary warriors.

The temples thing honestly didn't really surprise me much. If you have the resources to do so, it makes sense to store each of the twenty artifacts in a separate fortress.

If any of the temples are open to visitors, it also gives you reach over a greater portion of the world.
