Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

[X] Narwhal. Because we don't know for a fact Dragon is heteroromantic, and Narwhal gets her like few can.

The most awkward romance in history. Well, maybe not the most, but definitely really awkward thanks to Narwhal's subscriptions (because Second Triggers don't have just issues) and Dragon's tinyness.

Why not?

I pick this mostly because it's different enough that I doubt I'll see it elsewhere. I've not read enough Worm fanfiction to be tired of any pairings yet.

Who should Dragon date:
[X] Armsmaster. The old friend. The canon option. Has a magnificent beard.

Because Worm!Adam Jensen needs a relationship too, even if he never asked for it.

:V

[X] Armsmaster AND Narwhal. At the same time. And set them up with each other, too. OT3!

I am usually a strong supporter of canon ships.

Though the Colin/Dragon/Narwhal tempts me so, I have such a soft spot for their relationship. It was one of the few things in Worm that gave me warm fuzzies and didn't end up brutally murdered.

Because she's great and we never get to see her enough.

Because that's the least expected option. Also, why not multiple... oh wait. She is now limited in her multitasking so she can't be everywhere at once. Yeah just Narwhal will do fine.

The sheer juxtaposition of tiny fairy and statuesque super tall lady, both of which have very unusual aesthetics on top of that, cinches this one for me.

[:V] Vista.
- She's much closer to Dragon's (chronologic) age than other candidates.
- Dragon had an experience with restrictions put on her by an authority figure and shackling her potential, so she can relate to Vista's frustration with Chevalier.
- We voted for Vista going full transhumanist, and what can be better for that than relationship with the world's first technomagical AI.

[X] No one. Dragon is a strong, independent gynoid and doesn't need to be in a relationship to be happy.

@Silently Watches For my notes, when will Lacey reach her S core? If I'm interpreting things right, I think it will be 10 weeks. If you planned on including that detail in the update where she gets her powers, feel free to ignore this. I'll count not getting an answer as confirmation that you plan on telling us later.

In canon, she turned herself in and requested she be sent to the Birdcage. I forget when this happened so it could impact her current situation. I also don't recall if she had actual crimes beyond murdering some villains like Grey boy. I would expect her to be one of the first to know about Scion dying, regardless, because of how she is connected to all of Scion's shards, including knowing all about the Entities plans up to and including that all Earths would be consumed in 300 years to continue the cycle--or would have, if Eden weren't already dead. She also knew that Eden was dead all on her own. She could tell which entities each person's powers came from, too.

IIRC she joined the fight against Scion because he was going against his own damned plans in a giant tantrum. Hard to read her, but I *think* her game plan was more or less to either reconstitute some kind of Entity so the cycle can complete at last, or put most shards into hibernation so that they might wait for a hail mary.

Once Scion started breaking the planet its no longer an option

Well, to be fair, Dragon's tinyness will be a problem for anyone. Except for the Simurgh. Which... Yeah, no. BUT

Yeah, can't argue with the fact that if you subtract Dragon's height from Narwhal's you get the height of a normal woman . It accentuates how ridiculous the whole thing is.

Edit: Fun fact, Narwhals are called the unicorns of the sea (the common belief in unicorns actually stems in part from narwhals, because in medieval times people would take narwhal horns and misattribute it to unicorns. Kinda like the greek invented dragons from dinosaur bones and cyclops from elephant skulls. Aaand, spontaneous trivia time over.)

I am amazed at how many fairy tale and myth references (Mac, Cat Sith) we are getting in this quest. I want to say it means something, even knowing it's just a coincidence.

I have a variation on an idea I suggested before: instead of having swappable weapon mounts, could a set of power armor come with a number of power ports that can be connected to recharge or directly power other things? Like, say, a plug in the hand/wrist/forearm area to power the weapon the suit is wielding?

What I'm thinking of primarily is a method to recharge gear that doesn't require sending it back to base. That's why we use gasoline powered mana generators, after all, since it is such a reliable, cheap, easily obtained fuel. With the added build slots from our new GBs, I'm hoping to get a bit more gear to send out to allies. Admittedly, we need to get some allies, too, though.

I also have an omake idea that would be related to this. Odds are you'll never see it, as I'm rarely happy with my writing, but that doesn't mean I don't want whatever I write to fit the source's rules.

Yes. I'm much more lenient towards visual arts particularly because that's something I can't do, so it leaves me easily impressed.

@Coshiua actually has an unclaimed training point already, so this makes 2 for him to use.
When Lacey is put in the FAQ and Character Sheets, I'll put both of the points that I have earned into her.

Might I also trouble you for a general description of Standstill? I haven't been able to find anything that describes her general appearance all that well aside from 'goth' or 'goth-like' with 'bad fashion sense'.

Canon gave SW little to work off of. Whether she had an entirely different aesthetic before joining the Adepts, similar to how Foil changed when she left the Wards to date Parian, I have no idea. I share your interest in what descriptions are to come, as until you brought it up, I hadn't consciously realized how little we know about the character.

Personally, I'm hoping she can become our next template character, taking Extinction Knight to complete the set, six weeks from now. It wouldn't take a lot of bringing her and Cat Sith along to social or business outings to get her recruited, I think. I also think we could easily get Purity involved if could ever get in touch with her again. After all, little things like being in different cities matter very little to people who can teleport at will. Yes, we'd have to go to them first, but if people were on time and time was short, we could get both of them and go to another planet in 6 seconds.* It's a shame Cat Sith doesn't have teleportation, though maybe that will give us a bit of a stronger connection to Cat and SS, if we're willing to taxi them places. The two of them being on nothing but Console duty could work in our favor, too =P

*I'm well aware that turn around times wouldn't actually be this fast. Even in an emergency, the seconds spent getting our bearings and grabbing each person would extend the 2-3 seconds it takes to perform the spell. That's the practical element, where I'm focusing more on the narrative sense that means we could get to New Orleans or New York faster than we could run from our bedroom to the front door.

It might just be me but I would much rather see Extinction Knight go to Kayleigh. Forgive the assumption but I would be surprised and disappointed if she wasn't eligible for a template.
