Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Yeah, this is a good point. Thinking about the theme and message of the composition Ling Qi will produce and how it will play off against what Yu Nuan does is probably important.

Also from a shonen battle perspective our song will be a philosophical argument. Hence, to a degree, this could maybe be considered a character development exercise to some degree.

(or maybe I'm just taking this too far)
I do think these nuances exist, but our control and information about them is limited so more obvious factors, such as whose scene we read or whether we win, might be more important.

[X] Sixiang was her muse and her friend. Ling Qi was tired of being ignored. She would get Sixiang's attention and help.

Shes also not hard core depression only though and most of her music tends to shade that way. And if she does goes with zeqing then it's likely to continue being the same kind of feel to it.
I don't agree at all that depression is an accurate characterizations of pieces like FSS and FVM. Things like Loss and Endings are keenly felt, not muted and flat.

[X] She could use a more human perspective. Even if her friends and family were not musically talented, they could give her feedback and advice.

Sorry, didn't mean that that was the explict feeling expressed. Just meant that the associated emotions with Qi's works tend to be more negative. But that was more words than I wanted to type out >.<

And who knows, maybe we get a piece with Si about our emotion angst over the moon memory trial. That should be suitably dark and non optimistic right? :V

Zeqing typically seems to have better purity of purpose in her music and her songs are the type that gloomy Ling Qi seems to default to mood wise. On the other hand sixiang is a straight up muse and doesn't offer opportunities to drag her into things that often. Ultimately I'm going to vote for Zeqing due to sixiang's distraction.

[X] Spend that time with Zeqing, who else could offer her the greatest insight?

Zeqing isn't about depression though.

She's about inevitable ends. Something some might find depressing, but that is far from universal.
Hell, LQ herself said she found the sound to be beautiful.

Spirits tend to have difficulty growing as people once they hit their natural cap , which Sixiang seems to have hit. The Bloody Moon trial affected Ling Qi, but it affected Sixiang heavily too. Being a spirit, they may have more difficulty than us to work on their internal problems and avoid the issue by ignoring it entirely.
How do we fix it? Let's pour our feelings about the trial into music together! The only true power is the power of friendship after all.
