Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
I think that risk is present in most places we can seek arts and has the net result of us seeking offensive arts less often.
that's blatantly false. Research in the archives for example gives us the art's elements keywords and venue of attack.

We just had a fight where FSS was not cutting it.
that's entirely wrong too. The only reason deedude lived is because Ling Qi didn't want to kill him. the chap even points out how she was holding back.

Can you cite where "FSS was not cutting it"? I don't remember that being the case
Here:
Using Hoarfrost caress so many times was a drain on her reserves.
And it was three on one to blot
That would be good reason to get arts with bonuses to spiritual offense, music and cold, not random attack art.
It is a fantastic reason to get a supremely good attack art form a White-level Bloody Moon spirit.

that's blatantly false. Research in the archives for example gives us the art's elements keywords and venue of attack.
Furthermore, it's very wrong if you look at our actual actions:
  • Archive 1: heart arts, chose a mixed offensive/defensive art
  • Archive 2: attack arts
  • Ying: area defense
  • Archive 3: ZB successors. Chose utility option
  • Zeqing: chose the attack art option
  • Inner archive 1: perception/stealth arts
If anything we have a tendancy towards looking for offensive arts, though overall it's fairly well mixed.

Ling Qi felt a sinking feeling in her stomach, even as she remained silent, despite the pain of the King's fingers digging into her shoulder, as fury began to leak into his voice.

"They bought metals and stone from serpents and apes, and laid siege to our most sacred temples. They pillaged and killed their own kin and defied the holy conclave of kings. Yet, when this King reached the peak, gathered the scattered courts to war, and awoke the Sea. what good did it do?" The king continued contemptuously. "The followers of truth have scoured them from the land and cast down their blights, regrown the sullied groves on the flesh and blood of chattel and traitor alike. Now, only one foolish man remains unrepentant. It is my brother and nephews who I hunt this night, little dreamer."

Oh, of course, it was your side that was being polite and rational, and the others must be insane. Surely the other side doesn't feel the same about their own position.
The above quote makes it very clear that, whatever happened, it made the Weilu traditionalists furious. Seiging sacred temples, pillaging their kin, that's the kind of language you use when someone has gone against one of the base principles of your culture. They're not just rebels, they're revolutionaries, people who by word and deed want to throw out the old system and replace it with something new.

Keep in mind that unlike the Bai and Zheng, the Weilu first rose to prominence through a compact and partnership between themselves and their sublime ancestor, not a marital union or winning favor. The Bai are the absolute masters of the Thousand Lakes. The Zheng are family, through thick and thin. The Weilu are a court, the lords who meet and mediate so that all parties can walk away, if not satisfied, at least pacified.

[X] Accept the blessing of Hide
Switching to this, as overall I've found I don't actually mind as much between the two blessings. Either should be useful.

With regards to the other boons I'm on the side of risking it to have hope that Shen Hu can handle himself alright without us asking for him to be spared. If nothing else getting a blessing could mean having the strength later on to not be forced into these kinds of situations, though that's honestly a stretch.

[x] Ask for something else, despite the risk
-[x] Ask that Shen Hu and any mortals be spared the hunt

I know it might seem worthless and risky but the other choices don't feel right. Even if it's a dream, the feeling and memories will stay for Ling Qi ; and I'm not sure what slaughtering mortal will do personality wise.
If we really want to take risks then we shall take risks to do the right thing.
I don't think that choosing to take the boon without saying anything will resolve the dream. If we want to change and influence the dream we have to stand up and protect.

Tally ho!

Yeah, and it takes a bunch of keywords to try to narrow it down to what we want. Then the arts we get have a random smattering of the keywords we vote in. Our odds of getting something that fits what we need in offense and is aligned to our elements from going to the archive isn't great.
We didn't exactly come away with an 'oh wow this is perfect' perception art.

ENM?

Ugh, I am so salty how this little adventure is turning out.
The worst part is that I completely expected things to turn out this way but was hoping it wouldn't.

If Fang gives us an offensive moon/wood summon art with group buffs I'll be super happy. And that's totally possible!

I'm just kinda leery about gambling on that.

Honestly, given that we've got an ambiguous reward vote combined with a morality vote it's kinda surprising things aren't worse.

ENM isn't perception though. I'm sure we'd come away with something interesting if we tried to search for a mid-range offensive Music art, but I'm not sure that something interesting would itself be a mid-range offensive Music art. I think I'm also pickier about elements than some people, though.

It is a fine night to hunt.

I'm the opposite. I'm really excited at how this is turning out. Seeing the tale from the 'civilized' side would have been far less interesting in my opinion, and now we get to be at the heart of this event. We're seeing history up close, and while it's certainly a huge risk to be in the splash zone like we are, this is also incredibly fascinating to watch.

This is almost certainly post-Unification (Or at least very close to it)
Could conceivably be close, but it's certainly pre-unification.

"Before emperor and empires, many Weilu strayed from the true path...The King of the Forests tolerated this, for he loved his sons...when he passed, it was the Elder Brother, who walked the true path, who was crowned. When he politely requested that the foolish ones tear down their ugly blights, and return to the true way… they refused, how mad of them."
