[X] You spend your time playing with Ardat, and your wards. Just, you refuse to be ridden around this time.

A couple of reasons. First, Verge and Sparks are beginning to drift apart in terms of their views and values, and right now Sparks feels hurt that Verge would ever think Sparks could betray him. Honestly, I think the chastise thing probably ended in failure; Sparks cared far more about how Verge trusted him a bit less than expected than what Verge was actually saying. I doubt his opinions changed at all.

That said, things are quite rocky right now, so diving right back in is a bad call.

Furthermore, while I do want to train Strength at the gym since it's a double session, that's not going to win. That and I like watching Verge suffer through dealing with eccentric people who annoy and confound him.

But yeah, Sparks is slowly becoming a very different person from Verge as time goes on and evolution has only hastened that. I don't think there's any stopping this, nor do I think it should be stopped; Sparks has dependency issues already, so Verge shouldn't be trying to shape and control his personality; that would make them much worse. It's messy and emotionally complicated but hey, that's life. All we can do is try to maintain our friendship through that.

Interesting that the Bearmon was disappointed that they were arriving in town. I guess he enjoyed having a scrap of authority for a bit. The amount of focus given to him makes me think he might become somewhat important later on.

[X] You spend the time hanging out with Beat, Sparks & Drop. It's time for you to talk to your friend again, and maybe find out about how the latter two mon met.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot about updating THE ENDEBTENING. It is the 21st, after all.

This week, Verge owes Auger 8,250 bits. Next week, Verge will owe Auger 9,075 bits.

@drexal15
Could we have a vote to hang out with Frigimon and help her for today ?

After all she just lost a good friend and still has to take care of the many rookies
Er, I dunno if Verge would really be much use there. She's quite old and Verge is in some ways still a kid, and is dealing with baggage of his own. He's probably not up to the task of delicate emotional labor of that caliber.

So probably vote have gone back and forth on the most...

But last few interactions with Spark have been kind of negative and want to have a good one.

After that whole realisation thing with Sparks, we should take the time to properly talk to him.

Current tally, it's pretty close at the moment.

Sadly that's out of the question.

Or he realized how manipulating others is a bad thing. Because his reaction was very on the lines of being horrified at his own thoughts.
I don't think so(and I hope not, because I want him to actually develop as his own character instead of this weird stasis he's been in for so long). He genuinely didn't care about what Verge was saying until Verge asked whether Sparks would ever see Verge like that. He was hurt by Verge's accusation that he could ever see Verge as a tool, that's all.

Ummm... being "hurt" doesn't lead to a realization that makes someone physically ill. Sparks actually puked when he realized the thrust of what Verge was saying. That's the reaction of someone that's loathing a decision they made once they realize the greater implications.

When you're as obsessively dependent on a person as Sparks is it can. The "realization" was clearly that Verge trusted him less, or . at least that's what he thought. If he just felt bad for... I dunno, wanting to do a bad thing I guess, he wouldn't be avoiding Verge like this.

And like I said, I'd be pissed if it was him immediately backpedalling from his new stance, because that would basically mean totally erasing new character development because it's not development that we like, and I'd like the guy to finally become more than a needy sidekick for once.

So yeah, I hope he doubles down on this new manipulative ruthlessness, doesn't loathe himself for it, and him and Verge have some conflict over it. That would lead to actual dramatic stakes in their dynamics and make it more fleshed out and three-dimensional.

Don't we kind of have enough enemies as it is without having inter-party conflict already? Sparks is no David Xanatos, and I think part of his newfound surety is because he's now a CHampion and thus thinks he's more "mature" than Verge. Which is very clearly less a matter of life stage and more a matter of age as Gramps showed, as well as Verge has been demonstrating as he gets older.

I don't think Sparks is going to suddenly immediately reform, and yes there's going to be friction. But the way you're phrasing things makes it sound like you want actual conflict in the party, which is something we simply cannot afford if we want to succeed in rescuing the rest of our family. We must be united in thought and purpose, not playing against one another.

Damn. 22 votes this time! That's awesome!

I'll do a votecount now, and since it's relatively I'll be waiting 4 more hours until I shut the vote.

Maturation is a bit more complicated than one might think.

Sparks going to Wizardmon actually did make him more mature, more confident and even more intelligent. Going to a new digivolution changes a characters mental state somewhat, sometimes a lot. Of course some mon will remain kind of *Childlike* regardless as their core personality tends to remain the same.

However age itself does also cause maturation, it's just not in a big leap like evolution.

I'd just like to point out that we'll be with Beat and Sparks all the time. There will be lots of chances to talk to them. With the spiders, not so much.

You know he's no gramps but Verge it seems like has been a rookie for a pretty long time by digimon standards.

I mean does Sparks even remember a time when Verge wasn't a rookie?
