[X] You spend your time playing with Ardat, and your wards. Just, you refuse to be ridden around this time.
A couple of reasons. First, Verge and Sparks are beginning to drift apart in terms of their views and values, and right now Sparks feels hurt that Verge would ever think Sparks could betray him. Honestly, I think the chastise thing probably ended in failure; Sparks cared far more about how Verge trusted him a bit less than expected than what Verge was actually saying. I doubt his opinions changed at all.
That said, things are quite rocky right now, so diving right back in is a bad call.
Furthermore, while I do want to train Strength at the gym since it's a double session, that's not going to win. That and I like watching Verge suffer through dealing with eccentric people who annoy and confound him.
But yeah, Sparks is slowly becoming a very different person from Verge as time goes on and evolution has only hastened that. I don't think there's any stopping this, nor do I think it should be stopped; Sparks has dependency issues already, so Verge shouldn't be trying to shape and control his personality; that would make them much worse. It's messy and emotionally complicated but hey, that's life. All we can do is try to maintain our friendship through that.
Interesting that the Bearmon was disappointed that they were arriving in town. I guess he enjoyed having a scrap of authority for a bit. The amount of focus given to him makes me think he might become somewhat important later on.
