[X] Ardat. So much as you don't like being around the feminine digimon, she seems to know magic. Maybe if you asked her, she could help you study your next spell?
On a more serious note, healers (even weaker ones) would logically be even more valuable to an army than they would be at some village.
Any Commander worth his salt will treasure someone who lets his forces recover from combat/fatigue faster and without using up valuable resources like healing items.
Bonus points for us being tanky unlike most mages.

I like the post, but to note something. Verge while tanky for a rookie isn't currently all that tough in the grand scheme of things. On battlefields where champions are common he's mainly just a mildly large target.
Plus his healing is really not that potent either, even when boosted by the wand.

Aye. Verge will need a lot more of both esteoric stats if he wants to be a halfway decent healer.

[X] Beat, he's been glaring at you again, and now that Frigimon is gone you're pretty sure he's going to try challenge you to another spar tonight. See if you can talk to him.

-[X] Make sure that she hears you first, and use the weak healing spell when Sparks feels tired to help him recover his stamina. Also Beat if you believed that he is tired but Sparks have priority.

Then there were the sensations of your body, being felt for the first time.
…
"Hrm, Verge? Mm. Waiting until they hatch."
You hear something from… Somewhere? Where could it be?
Movement flows through yourself as you get closer to the sound. But as you move you bump into something, a wall.
A feeling of confusion is felt, but you still hear the voices.
"By The Ten Legendary Warriors, let it be known that you've made me proud."
You want to know what it is, what it could possible mean. This strange new curiosity intrigues you to still chase it.
*Bump*
*Bump*
*Bump*
*Crack*
As the wall breaks light shines upon you, you see a figure in front of you, a bipedal creature with dark purple fur. He looks at you with a somewhat frightened expression.
You look at the large thing that towers over your form, but you don't feel scared, rather you feel something else, that there's something you can do...
Dominance.
You growl at him viciously, glaring into the creature's eyes. But then you notice something else, another one behind the one you are current glaring. This one is on all fours, with mostly red looking fur and blueish-purple stripes layered all over him. But most defining of all about this one is the scar the lays on its forehead.
You glare at this one too.
=== Choose One:
[] Continue to growl at the both of them, stand your ground.
[] Attack the scarred one.
[] Turn towards the purple creature and attack him.
The voice seems to have been near to us and when we hatched the Drimogemon was the closest. Though that still doesn't explain why he had such a scared expression.
[X] Beat, he's been glaring at you again, and now that Frigimon is gone you're pretty sure he's going to try challenge you to another spar tonight. See if you can talk to him.

Your squadron shuffles along the dirt road leading north-east at jogging speed. Which just happens to be speedy enough for the slowest member of your party (Sparks) to keep up, if only barely. Despite both being rookies, it's not that hard for you and Beat to keep up the pace. though that's mostly because the three champions are basically plodding forward at what is essentially a brisk walk for them.
What was once a rocky area around the town proves to have been smoothed out for ease of travel. By your guess the flat path was created to help ease land-based transportation.
It leads everyone out through the large clearing, and into the nearby woods beyond. Thankfully the road stays fairly wide easily able to contain everyone walking side by side, this means that no one has to march near the trees. Here and there you spot the occasional rookie peering at you from the foliage, but no mon dares to bother the group.
Ardat spends the entire first leg of the journey prowling around your position in the middle of the group; her sharp grin never fading as she circles you in a predatory manner. You're forced to keep a constant eye on Witchmon edging away whenever she comes close and trying to put other members of the party (Sparks not included) between yourself and her.
Unfortunately, trying to create distance ends up backfiring spectacularly.
Instead of keeping you away the action only leads to a chase where you're forced round and round the group to keep, in a constant vigilant struggle to keep out of the humanoid mon's reach.
You're very uncomfortable with the entire *game* that's developed, but after a couple minutes you realize something mildly disturbing. Ardat is a Witchmon, one of the magic digimon Sorcerymon told you about last month. If you want to make progress in your studies, then she's probably the only digimon here than can help you. The fact makes you let out a nervous swallow.
I… I have to overcome my fear and unease. It's like Flamemon said. I have to if I'm going to carry his legacy.
So with that you slow down, and let the playful witch finally catch up.
Ardat lets out a small chuckle at your apparent surrender, and begins running one red claw down the fur on your back. You try not to shiver from the sensation, but fail
"Mmm, your fur is really soft" she coos, bending down to rub her face into the thick purple hair. "Not even the pillows at the mansion can compare to it! When I'm the leading lady of the digital world I'll need some for my throne!"
Needless to say you're more than a little disconcerted by her words, but you manage to convince your instincts that freezing right now is not the best idea.
Sparks glares over at wommon, his fiery head flaring up in anger. However you meet his gaze with your single eye, and then shake your head. The one armed rookie hesitates for a second, glowers at her, but doesn't say or do anything beyond that.
You take a deep breath, steel yourself then finally speak up.
"Ardat. You know High Programming correct?"
"Of course!" She proudly proclaims, though her voice is muffled "I am the greatest master of wind Sorcery in all the world! No other digimon stand close to my-" she continues on and you do your very best to tune the boasting out. Twenty-seconds later she takes a gasping breath for air, and you seize your chance to interior her annoying tirade.
"I'm studying a spell. Can you help?"
Ardat seems to flinch back at your words, but as you turn your head to look, the champion isn't scared but hearing a pleasantly surprised grin.
"You have magic too?! Sure I'll-" Cough* "-It's not that I'm bored or anything! I'm just helping you because Scratch said it's right thing to do! Be grateful Drimogemon, I will deign to assist you in this matter! Now where's your book?"
You nod at her hesitantly, then rear up. Despite the fact that you tower over over the champion, it doesn't give you any sort of confidence. If it came to a fight she'd crush you utterly even if you were able to suckerpunch the champion.
With slightly shaking paws, you unclasp the satchels covering and draw out Sorcerymon's white book.
Ardats eyes go wide upon seeing the spell repository, and suddenly her free arm blurs. She snatches it from his paw, and flips it open to the first few pages.
"A holy tome! Holy Lord! Only Sorcerymon use these!" She looks over at you still smiling and knowing nod. "Truly you must be a worthy individual of great purpose like myself!"
...okay?
"It's the second spell" you say, ignoring her strange words.
"Ah yes!" she rapidly bobs her head up and down, which does...interesting things to the rest of her body. "Hmm. It translates out to Holy Light Strike. It's supposed to create and direct a blast of pure holy energy. Nothing compared to my fantastic wind magic of course, but useful against the despicable forces of the Gloaming!"
Is she going to help me? Or just keep talking?
"Now, Inform me about what step you're at!"
You do, and for the next few hours of travel Ardat lectures you on the subject of High Programming the best way for you to figure out the spell. You make some progress...you think. Often times it's hard to understand what the flowery dialogue she's expressing is supposed to actually mean. Still, by the end you it's worth it.
You've gotten somewhat used to the feminine mon, so her presence isn't quite as jarring as before. Despite that you still don't like her. Ardat is too similar to Repulsa. You see flashes of the LadyDevimon on her almost every facet. From her grin, to her body, you just can't enjoy being with her because of the similarities.
Halfway through the day, your party breaks for lunch, stopping in the middle of the large dirt road for a short rest. Pidmon finally takes his large backpack off and sets it down before rolling his shoulders in relief. From there he bends down, opens the top and fishes out a number of loaves of Travel bread. The angelic champion wants no time in handing the supplies out to everyone, only starting to chow down himself after everyone else has a loaf.
Lunch also marks the end of your session with Ardat, as the Witchmon seems to have gotten bored of helping you with the spell. She hands you the tome back after finishing her meal then thanks you for the good time. Whatever that's supposed to mean.
Truth be told, you're more than a little thankful that Ardat decided to leave when she did. All the information was giving you a headache, and was distracting you from your memorization attempts.
Ardat moves over speaks with Pidmon for a bit, and it quickly turns into a sort of shouting match as both mon fully immerse themselves in enthusiasts. Overall, their two bombastic personalities seeming to mesh well and both end up grinning at each other by the time things are done,
By now, Beat and Sparks are finding it very hard to keep up with the group. You try to help Sparks directly by carrying him, but get glared at by Scratch for that. Something tells you going through with it would be a bad idea.
Instead you chant Sorcerymon's first healing spell under your breath, helping the Candlemon regain a bit of his energy.
The afternoon passes unceremoniously and is somewhat boring since all you do is march. Holding a conversation with Sparks is difficult since your friend has to spend his time gasping for air. His drive to keep up is a bit surprising, so you do your best to stay by his side and encourage him.
Beat had a slightly easier time of things, initially but unlike Sparks he doesn't have magic rejuvenating him. Because of that the Wormmon ends up grudgingly taking the rear of the formation. You contemplate trying to heal him too, but his heated glare stops you from trying.
Once evening strikes Sergeant Scratch stops the fast March and orders everyone to start making camp.
Together with Sparks you're a bit confused by what he's saying, but the small champion directs you over to Pidmon whom has once again set down his bag. Next, you're treated to the sight of the taller mon pulling our entire folded tents from the backpack.
It turns out that his bag is similar to your own in that it can hold more than it physically should, but you sadly don't get a good look inside as to compare the exact dimensions.
After the five three large have all been set up, and the bedrolls layed out inside, Gladimon retrieves a series of weights from the bag, and lays them out on the ground near the edge of the road. From there he barks for everyone but Ardat to come over and stand at attention.
The Gladimon announces that all four of you are going to start training in the evenings. With the only exception being Ardat, because her spells are far too destructive to be used by the road.
Even as he says this, Ardat drops her broom, and says a few words which then have it hovering in the air. In the next moment, she throws her leg over the handle, and flies away from the group, cackling madly all the while.
You have a feeling whatever she's going to be training won't be very safe, and are thus glad to be as far away as possible from where she's training.
Sergeant Scratch produces a small book of his own seemingly from nowhere and begins listing off various exercises for Sparks and Beat to do with the assembled weights. He utterly ignores you in this, and when done, turns over to Pidmon and draws his twin sabres.
"You will be sparring with me" he orders in monotone, pointing one blade toward the much taller champion.
Pidmon steps back from the declaration in surprise.
"But, Sergeant Scratch. Do we truly have to fight? The two of us are both comrades under the lord! The only ones who deserve my wrath are those under the accursed Gloaming's shadow!"
"That is why we must" Scratch replies without missing a beat. Pidmon swallows nervously, but upon seeing that the older champion isn't budging, reaches back and pulls out his metal rod..
===Verge Training Plans For The Next week: (Choose One)
[] Plan Tank: Focus on Strength, Fortitude and just sparring in general
[] Plan Up To Par: Focus on increasing the lowest stats, and bringing them up towards his highest one.
[] Plan Balance: Focus on increasing all stats equally.
[] Plan Long Defense: Focus on increasing Endurance and Fortitude
[] Plan Magic Fighter : Focus on studying the second spell, along with using your healing in combat.
[] Plan Write In. (Choose stats and skills to focus on)
=== Choose One: (Who to talk to tomorrow)
[] Sergeant Scratch. You don't think he likes you, it's scary but...try to ask him why that is.
[] Pidmon, the angel digimon is friendly enough and quite talkative maybe you could learn more about the Blessed Host and immediate area from him?
[] Beat, only seems to want to spar with you for reason. Or rather from what you were able to tell from last night's spar he's focused on defeating you. Try to ask him why.
=== Stat/Skill Increases: Special, Spirit. High Programming 1.5 and 1 spell progress made.
Holy Light Strike A weak holy magic spell (4/12 learned)

Authors Note: Verge is going to be getting stronger over the coming week. As will Sparks. Instead of a dozen votes on training each night I figure a general plan will be better

[x] During the march, train your Str and End by adding weight to your back and walking on all fours. Add more weight when needed to keep the marches hard trying things.
[x] During the camp time, rest and recover for a short bit, before going back to training your str and start pushing yourself with digging and dragging weights.

As it seems like a good idea to shore up our rather massive weakness in Special and Spirit first before we move to do much else, since we do seem to be placing a large amount of interest in magic.
[X] Plan: POWER UP
I have been convinced. Give me those sweet stat gains.
[X] Sergeant Scratch. You don't think he likes you, it's scary but...try to ask him why that is.
Yeah we need to establish a rapport with our CO.
So in the discord chat drex let us something interesting. You know that the whole cat n mouse game with Ardat?
She thought Verge initiated it on purpose.
Which threw me for a sec until I realized something. She already liked him for his warm fur and thought his eyepatch was cool... and then (from her perspective) he initiates the cat n mouse game, then demonstrate both interest and skill in her favorite thing and throws her an unintended compliment by asking for her help.
And Verge does all this while looking tall dark and edgy on our quest for revenge. While dealing with an extreme Chuuni.
*facepalm*
We done wooed the Witchmon.

@drexal15
Say, how difficult is it to Upgrade our potential
Like would it be possible to upgrade Agility if we were to spend a whole week on training it?

I'd like to come up with a really good write-in plan, but right now I can't think of anything. normally I'm really good at write-ins, but for some reason nothing's popping up inspiration-wise!
This is gonna be bugging me for a while I bet...Probably need to get some sleep, bet that'll clear up the creativity and reasoning blockage.
God damnit but I want that Upgrade, since our low Agility is what gave us trouble more then once
I suppose that means we have to spend Two weeks in Agility
