Seriously, I really really don't want to buy it. To me, the "Buy it" vote is epitome of the boring perfect SV Mary Sue quest protag. Not saying that's what Verge is, but he'd be acting that way if he bought it. Think: if you weren't controlling Verge, do you honestly think he would buy that disk?

Well, yeah? He's still kind of a coward at heart and just had one of his friends almost die on him after getting horribly wounded. It's more out of character for him not to buy it.

To be honest, if we're going maximum powergamer, we wouldn't buy the disk, then leave Flamemon to his own devices while we take out the only potential healer on the battlefield to maximise his risk of dying. If he does, that would push us into the Dorulumon route and thus give us the best numbers.

[X] Sparks is battling against that enemy that looks like Sorcerymon. He doesn't look that tough, so maybe you could hurt him?
-[X] If Wizardmon starts trying to cast a spell, randomly shout "1" or "0" to throw him off.

Just a bit of a thought. But if we can develop a sort of "troll casting" to slip by some inexperienced caster's, it'd be hilarious. And if by some random bout we actually cast a Healing spell (on ourselves, or even an uninjured Wizardmon), it may ironically prove another distraction.

Sadly, as much as I'd like to help Flamemon, Sparks might be in a pearlous position. Same with almost everyone else. And thing is, if we just go digging and berserking, they'd plan around us before you know it.

He's willing to sell you his only recovery disk at a 25 percent discount, bringing the cost down to a mere seven thousand, five hundred bits.
12350 - 7500 = 4850

It not like it's gonna leave us broke or anything. We'll be able to recover that amount fairly quick.

These two champions have been threatening the village for far too long! Let's at least give it our all to both keep our people safe and kick their asses!

Gotta remember to take off another 1050 (150*7) from the equation since buying everyone breakfast seems to be winning.

That'll drop Verge down to 3800 by the festival.

I'm down, tho lunamon prob needs some training desperately. Shes prob the weakest in the village atm..

And still confused at why she still sounds so...young.. even tho shes been a rookie longer then candlemon . If I'm being perfectly honest the onni chan anime little sister trope annoys the hell out of me ...

I hope to god our next ward doesnt start calling us aniki or other Japanese phrases

Welcome to the thread m8, I think I'll like having you around.

Glad to be here. I checked out of Infamy at some point during the second thread so I'm happy there's a better alternative.

Though if I may say something in terms of Maximum Power! While Dorulumon is the strongest champion form form for Verge, another line actually offers more long term power.

Hmm.

My initial thought was Gladimon -> Knightmon -> Alphamon, who's absolutely ridiculous. If it isn't him, then that takes the various Royal Knights out of the equation.

Digmon could maybe get to one of the Ten, which is pretty solid. Gryzmon doesn't seem to get anything special. Dorulumon looks like kind of a dead end now that I look at it.

This is mostly just equivocating though, I took another look at our current intended path and I found Monochromon -> Garudamon -> Daemon, who would also fit with our whole "wrath" deal. Looks like we need to somehow get Flamemon killed in action against the Blessed Host if we want to get the biggest numbers.

The best thing about questing is that our character gets all of the benefits of plotting cold blooded murder but none of the moral culpability. Really, Verge should be grateful we care about him enough to time the death of his best friend for optimal power.

We call him Bread. Let's name our new ward Bread!
When Bread becomes a rookie, please let's spar with him either every day or every other day, then use the post-spar injuries to train our healing

I didn't comment on this earlier but holy shit that name is so fuckin' strong. The idea of a badass virus digimon being called Bread-kun is just too much to resist.

She's just really immature I think. And yeah, she needs to start training at some point, because she's apparently as talented as Flamemon. It's just that Verge is naive and thinks it's actually possible to have a totally peaceful life in the digital world, so he sees no reason to push her to get strong and learn to fight.

Also anyone else catch the 7 deadly sins thing..

Gnaw-envy?
Fu-pride
Auger-greed.
Verge- wrath
Chomper- gluttony
Sloth-??
Lust-???

I guess flame mom and lunamon, possibly candlemon might be part of virtues?

Lunamon would definitely be Sloth if we're classifying it like that, and while Gnaw fits both Wrath and Envy we'll slot him into Envy since Verge is a thing. Digimon are asexual beings so the modern definition of lust won't work, but even if you use the archaic definition of "obsession with worldly sensations and experiences" I'm not sure if anyone in the village would fit that well.

And now that I think about it, Flamemon maps to Pride pretty well too; he's quite arrogant, it's just that he's good enough to back up his boasting.

I'm sorry to be causing you pain. As for why she sounds so young? A lot of it has to do with Lunamon's personality itself, but also that she's never really had to mature or fight. Little Luna spent her time playing tag and watching anime while Verge was out fighting Goblimon. Her only other interactions really were with Fu (who uh, isn't very mature herself) and Verge. While the PC himself has somewhat matured he's really too passive to bring the kind of structure required to raise Lunamon.

Normally this is where Gramps would step in, but he's been very busy.

Edit: And no need to worry about the Jyarimon there.

While I won't comment too much as not to give things away, the path to utmost power for Verge is an unexpected one, but something that is at this point pretty much guaranteed not to happen. Still, there are a couple paths that could potentially lead to him being in the heavy weight class so to speak.
I didn't comment on this earlier but holy shit that name is so fuckin' strong. The idea of a badass virus digimon being called Bread-kun is just too much to resist.
Kek, yeah that is a pretty funny potential name. We'll have to see what happens when it comes to that particular vote.
Kek

I like the seven deadly sins talk, but I didn't exactly have them all in mind when making each character. There's bound to be a little overlap here and there.

Edit: Buy it/ Don't Buy it are at 8/7 currently. I'll wait a few hours before closing the vote.

I've been gone a while, so I'm going to have to spend some time catching up

This next update is the largest one yet at 4500 words. Just waiting for my Beta to work on it. Then I'll post.

Just an advice

If you are gonna offer a healing item in the voting options don't end the chapter hinting at a huge battle. People are gonna vote for it anyways

It could lead into some neat interactions. Like I dunno Verge turbo focusing on learning healing magic and cue someone from the village dragging him out of his books

Seeing the many potential enemies, two of which are freaking champions, nearly makes you cower in fear. You immediately reject trying to help Flamemon fight the Woodmon; he's simply too strong and scary for you to even attempt to battle. If you tried, the big tree-like figure would probably just squash you with his gigantic arms. Even if you didn't die instantly, you would just get in the way and make things harder for your friend. The next option is more tempting, as you've battled Goblimon before and those unknown plant-type digimon still look to just be rookies. However after a few seconds of frantic thinking, you turn away from them as well focusing your attention towards the Sorcerymon look alike blasting Sparks Mechanorimon.

Your friend is fighting that champion by himself, and unlike Flamemon you don't have confidence in his utmost ability to be victorious.

H-he doesn't look that tough, so maybe... Maybe I could hurt him?

Going by Sorcerymon's previous words, you guess that his opponent is a Wizardmon, as you're pretty sure the *witch* in witchmon is supposed to mean it's a feminine digimon of some sort. You're not sure why you have this hunch for some reason it just kind of popped into your head. Quickly shaking your head to disperse the sudden bout of confusion, you push those worries back and try to examine the ongoing fight. In the time your indecision Spark has brought his vehicle forwards, crashing through the right edge of the camp in his bid to chase down the enemy, but as of so far hasn't actually been able to close the distance.

In return, the Wizardmon unleashes another blast of electric-based magic aimed right for the heavily damaged damaged cockpit, but the Candlemon is quick to block it, raising one of his ride's large arms to let it harmlessly fizzle out against the thick and tough metal armor. Sparks manages to protecting his exposed position in the cockpit quite well, but as the seconds go by it becomes clear that he's being put on the defensive by this glaring vulnerability, having to defend against a rapid and continuous series of spells instead of attacking. The Wizardmon uses this to his advantage quite ruthlessly.

Even as you watch, he starts targeting the exposed wiring on the Mechanorimon's right arm, raising his staff to launch a blast of fire and torching the sensitive parts located there. This proves to be quite effective and within moments of his attack the limb is responding much more sluggishly to your friend's commands.

For his part Sparks tries to keep chasing him, forcing his mech into a continued run. The massive, lumbering metal digimon stomps forward at surprising speeds, crashing through the camp with ease as it casually shreds tents and crushes campfires under its massive feet. But without being able to see properly due to the continued attacks, Sparks just can't catch the enemy. In fact, he can't even come closer. The Wizardmon is very agile if not as fast as the mech itself in sheer movement speed, and constantly stays on the move, keeping just outside of the metal mon's reach.

You faintly hear several shouts coming from the left side of the camp including "Lighting Knife" and "Seed Blast", but do your best to tune the other sounds of combat out as you think of what to do. A frontal attack, i.e. just charging at the Wizardmon would be suicidal, you know that much. And honestly considering how much your body is (quite literally) shaking from fear... Well, that isn't really an option anyways. A couple more painfully slow seconds go by as you try to think up a way to contribute, only to be met with complete and utter failure. Your head flops down in shame, giving you an eye-full of the ground. The dirt, root-free ground that the camp rests on.

I-I can help!

The frown of your face reverses to a determined smile as you rev up your drills. After taking one last look at the battle to try and predict where the Wizardmon will go in its kiting of Sparks, you lunge forward and start digging. With skilled honed from weeks of digging and strength brought on by necessity, you push forward tear through the dirt. While the vibrations from Sparks mech give you a very rough idea of his position where he might be heading, actually estimating where the Wizardmon will be is more difficult than when you'd tried to do it with the Goblimon. For one there's a lot more distance to actually cover, but more than that, he's moving through a cluttered camp, which could set him off of his initial course.

Still, you do your very best to remember his pace, think of how the champion-level digimon was moving, and then set on a direct course for his potential destination according to the given time. Digging is still slower than normal movement, but you've become quite a bit faster since the start of things a few weeks ago.

If I'm correct about this, then since he was moving on a clear diagonally curved path towards the center. Considering his speed... I believe he will be... Over there!

You break free from the confines of the ground just as the Wizardmon leaps overhead. He lands just a few feet away by one of the tents and raises his staff again, firing another burst of flame right over your nose.

D-darn it! I miscalculated!

The next moment you duck back down, retreating back through the tunnel to avoid being stomped flat by a gigantic metal foot. You manage to avoid being squished, if only barely as the armored appendage reaches within centimeters of your face, but then a moment later the massive foot lifts off again, leaving you free of danger. Despite the fear of nearly being crushed or perhaps even deleted sends your way, a small surge of perhaps rudely misdirected anger at Sparks' lack of care which follows manages to keep you from freezing up once more. Growling angrily, you get back to tunneling with renewed fervor.

A couple moments later sees you popping up out of the ground several feet away in an attempt to get a good look at the foe's movement pattern once, and you're just in time to see the Wizardmon cast yet another fire spell, sending a long stream of condensed flame out to strike the machine's vulnerable and unarmored joint. This one finally manages to cut through the already heavily weakened material, causing the limb to drop down with a mighty crash.

"Hey! No fair!" Sparks roars through his vehicles speakers.

The Wizardmon's only response to his words is an uproarious burst of laughter, before he continues his rapid casting without a single shred of delay or hesitation.

"By The Ten Warriors! I will still defeat you!.." The Candlemon pauses for a second in a way that almost reminds you of Gnaw, clearly attempting to think of a good way to finish his declaration. In the end he goes with one of Flamemon's lines: "You dastardly Villain!" With that, Sparks charges forward once again, his Mechanorimon's only remaining arm lifted up to strike.

Wizardmon easily avoids the charge with a deft leap to the side, then raises his staff once again, this time aimed directly for Sparks though the damaged dome. He starts quickly chanting another spell, clearly aiming to end the fight here and now by deleting your friend now that half of his defense is gone. Horrified, you watch as arcane energy begins pooling around the instrument. Sparks tries to compensate by bringing his vehicle's remaining arm up to defend, but it can't reach quite far enough enough; there's still enough space for an attack to get through.

No!

Nearly panicking, you take a deep breath desperately try to one thing in the world that might be able to save his life.

"One! Zero! Zero! One!"

The Wizardmons ridiculously fast chant sputters to a stop as he accidentally says the wrong digit. The lighting he was creating fizzles out, leaving his weapon to hang uselessly in the air. Whirling about, the champion level digimon levels a hate-filled glare in your direction. But then a moment later after realizing who had spoken suddenly laughs in a slightly unhinged manner. You pause momentarily in fear as the Wizardmon starts rushing forwards, his arm cocked back for a punch.

"This won't go like last time!" He screams angrily, quickly closing the distance between. Fear explodes out from your core at the sight of his charge. The idea of getting into open melee combat with a champion, even a physically weak one like this, is downright unthinkable. You nearly try to turn tail and sink back below the surface. But before you can a flash of grey tears it way free from your mind.

"That pitiful fear of yours. It only holds you back. To succeed you have to destroy it."

No!

"Raaaagh!"

A wrath-filled roar rips its way out from your throat, and without fully realizing what you're doing the sudden surge angry energy propels you forward to meet the threat. Not back to get away from it like your instincts were previously screaming. You don't really get it; all you know is that you really, really want to rip this Wizardmon aasunder. Even through the red haze you can still see how the Wizardmon is planning to act, how he's committed himself to this one punch. Your mind knows where the larger digimon is aiming, and how despite the speed advantage, moving a certain way will cause him to miss. On pure, rabid instinct you pounce forward, suddenly not caring about the potential deadly consequences that may come of him striking you.

"Drill Spin!"

Your head moves the opposite direction he was expecting, and his fist glances downwards across your cheek, tearing away fur ripping free a small portion of flesh from your face. Even at such a weird angle rather than a direct impact, it hurts like heck. Almost like when that mon from your dream ripped away at your fur. Meanwhile, your counterattack is thrown off the sheer force of his blow, even if its only a glancing one. Instead of spearing him through the belly like you originally intended, your length, rapidly revolving nose instead pierces right into the Wizardmon's left thigh. The response is both strong and immediate.

"Gaah! You little-" A sharp pains lashes out across your face as the Wizardmon strikes with his empty hand. Stars ripple across your vision and your nose is ripped free, causing the magic user to scream and curse as he tries to recover without letting his guard down. The blow knocks you off of your feet and high into the air, though you're too out of it to tell how high. You hit the ground with a dull thud several seconds later.

Ow-owie.

It hurts. It hurts a lot. You can feel the gaps in your mouth where several teeth were knocked free, and opening your eyes allows you to see that your mouth is leaking data, even if it's only a minuscule amount. Wizardmon stands nearby, leaning almost entirely on his right leg but still more than capable of fighting. His staff lowers down to point at you, a ball of electricity alighting along the tip. The rage you'd once felt is gone, knocked back by his overwhelming attack. You're quite literally too out of it to get mad.

"You're an annoying rookie…" he grumbles, though only for a brief moment. "Gweheheh, but no time-out for you." He chuckles, the words somehow sounding familiar. You try to open you mouth to say something, to plead for your life, but all that comes out is a pained whimper. "Thunder B-Erk!"

*Crash*

Before the Wizardmon can finish uttering his attack, a giant metal hand slams into him at high speed. The disembodied limb carries him across the camp and pins him to a crate near the very center of camp.

"Got your back Verge!" Sparks shouts through his Mechanorimon even as it rushes past you. The Wizardmon struggles to push the massive metal hand away from his body, but after a few seconds and a mighty *crack* wrenches the metal fingers stuck into the wood behind him free.

Ah. Sparks. Urg… er. Thanks.

Upon seeing the giant machine digimon charging towards him, the magical digimon wastes no time in trying to escape, bending his legs for a jump...Only to falter as his badly wounded left leg gives out.

"Daemonshi-!"

*Whack*

A massive armored foot hits the Wizardmon straight on and punts him out of the camp. His screaming form flies over the nearby treetops and swiftly vanishes out of sight.

"Ahaaa! Victory!" Sparks cackles in glee, thrusting his mech's remaining arm into the air.

You stumble back up to your hind legs and then immediately regret that decision as your wobbly balance nearly makes you fall over. With a soft moan, you drop down back to all fours for the sake of balance and try to shake off the damage. It's rather difficult; the inside of your head feels a bit… runny.

Is that bad? Yeah, it's probably p-p-pretty bad.

Several seconds later after you head clears up slightly, aflush of victory flows through you, but is quickly pushed aside as concern for the others overshadows it. Turning around, you search for the other members of the party.

The first thing you spot on the other side of the camp is that most of the enemy rookies are have been defeated, either burnt by lightning or nursing nasty bruises. The surrounding area itself is in ruins, torn up and slagged in places, with the light scattering of grass having long since been burnt away. Your core throbs upon seeing the downed form of Auger amongst a pile of blackened Goblimon, but a few moments you give a sigh of relief once its clear as he lets out a snore. He doesn't seem to be in any actual danger considering the dozen or foes that could harm him have already been dealt with.

Gramps and Fu are still very much in fighting condition and in danger. While neither one of them looks particularly injured, they're being attacked by few of the remaining enemy rookies. The village caretaker and your friend dart across the ground at high speeds, launching attacks up towards the winged virus digimon while trying to avoid strange projectiles. Because of their flight, these enemies are proving quite difficult to actually hit. Seeing that there's nothing you can really do to help with that, and knowing that Gramps can handle things you search for the very last member of the group.

What alerts you to Flamemon's presence is a loud crash which sounds over at the opposite edge of the camp as Woodmon breaks a tree almost as thick as him in half with one one swing of his massive arm. Flamemon blurs out of the way, leaping aside to bounce off yet another tree before tossing a ball of fire directly at the plant-type digimons face. As the seconds drag on, your mind begins to clear further and you notice something exhilarating about the situation.

Namely that the enemy champion is actually losing the battle, being forced to actually retreat back under the power of your best friend's attack. His large bark-covered body is pockmarked with what looks like dozens of heavy burns, and one of his four legs has simply been entirely burnt off entirely, hampering his mobility. Flamemon meanwhile looks like he's taken a few glancing blows from something as he's bruised and covered in minor cuts, but between the two he is clearly better off.

Beside you Sparks moves his Mechanorimon forward a step, then seems to think better of it and keeps his looted vehicle in place.

As the fight continues on, you can barely even keep track of Flamemon's speed, mostly tracking him by the sparks and heat haze he leaves in his wake.. He easily dodges the Woodmon's hefty (but still very speedy) blows and counters without any sort of trouble whatsoever. Eventually the champion tries something new, waiting until your best friend darts directly in front of him. Tanking the resulting blast head-on, he raises both huge limbs above his head and then with a thunderous roar brings them down.

"Woody Smash"

The attack covers a truly massive area and for an instant you stop breathing upon realizing that there's no way for Flamemon to fully get out of the way. Going to the back or sides would only result in him getting hit anyways. Only, Flamemon doesn't try to do any of that. Rather the grinning rookie leaps forward, coming up inside his opponents reach.

"Noble Heart!"

His fiery tackle lands right between the Woodmons eyes, breaking off shards of weakened wood and cracking the few parts that remained free of damage. For a brief moment you think that this will end the fight, but suddenly the Woodmon surges forwards and his smaller sets of arms snake out, wrapping around your friend's waist and pulling him tight against his lower body. Your best friends foe opens its mouth, in a clear attempt to bite him at point blank range and rip him apart. This proves to be a dreadful mistake on his part.

A blazing explosion of erupts around the tall rookie, cloaking his entire body and surroundings in fire. The Woodmon screams in pain as your best friend's inferno rolls over him, vaporizing his craggy *lips* and burning the smaller arms to ash. Flamemon drops to the ground and stands there for but a moment before throwing himself forward one last time his arms seeming to vanish entirely out of sight.

"Corona Knuckle!"

Dozens, of fiery punches lash out all over the champion's body, each one unleashing a mighty crack and splinters of data that are immediately roasted into nothingness. The force actually pushes your best friend's foe back across the dirt, shoving the large digimon up against a tree. When it's over Flamemon is shaking and gasping for breath and half of the Woodmon's body is a nearly unrecognizable mass of fist-shaped holes and charred wood. You don't know whether it's stubbornness or a last gasp of strength, but the champion attempts one last attack, opening its mouth and releasing a torrent of leaves towards your best friend.

Flamemon doesn't so much as flinch as his fiery aura simply burns the entire volley to ash before it can even reach him. He pulls back an arm, summoning up another ball of fire... Then lets it fade away, dispersing as the Woodmon collapses to the left, landing at the edge of his camp with a mighty crash.

You stare at the humanoid rookie in unabashed awe, the thought to hide your amazement never even comes close. Even after having witnessed it you can barely believe what just happened. Flamemon hadn't just come out victorious from a battle against a champion, he'd done so seemingly without much trouble at all! Your best friend spins around his fiery aura winking out and flashes a victory pose giving a thumbs up to all those watching. You take a look around as well and spot the very last of the airborne enemies being shot down by a flurry of small lightning bolts.

Gramps roughly shakes himself as the fighting ends then gazes over towards Flamemon. Beside you, him you spot Fu's unconscious from, it seems like that she hadn't come out of the battle unscathed either.

"Ha! Ha! My stalwart comrades we have claimed victory this da-"

Then the *fallen* Woodmon's gigantic arm swings out, crashing into his side. For one painful moment you see his face twisted up into dumbfounded surprise, then there's a large snap as his right arm buckles under the sudden impact and he's sent tumbling into the camp. Your best friend hits one of the larger champion sized tents, setting it alight.

"Flamemon!" You scramble forward after him, sprinting with all your might towards his position, already thinking about using the healing disc you'd procured from Sorcerymon. Out of the corner of your eye, you spot the Woodmon struggling back to his three remaining legs.

Not that he stays there long, as a red blur slams into the only limb supporting his left side and causes him to topple over once again. Gramps doesn't stop there however, quickly leaping atop the fallen champion and lashing out with his tails. The nine electrically charged weapons carve through the brittle and scorched material, carving deep furrows into the champion and tearing through both of his blue eyes. Streams of data erupt into the air as the blinded Woomon lets out a high-pitched screech of agony.

He tries to take a flailing swipe at the villages caretaker, but Gramps hops high up into the air easily avoiding the heavy limb.

"It was a mistake to bring danger to my village!" The now very angry Elecmon roars, his tails erupting with power. "Sparkling Thunder!"

The bolt rips straight through the champions lower body then bursts out the other side, blackening the ground beneath him. Gramps lands a few feet away, muttering something even as his body surges with power. The red rookie begins to glow with the sheer energy he's channeling.

In the pause you make it to the tent discovering a wheezing, very bruised Flamemon cradling his broken limb, but still capable of moving. You give a sigh of relief, then turn back towards the fight.

Blinded, burnt and near the point of deletion, the virus-attribute digimon lets out a final wheeze.

"Wait-I *Cough*-have conta- GAAAAAAAAH!!" Another bolt thunders into his wooden frame, as Gramps ignores his words entirely.

"Verge! Look away!" Gramps commands, you follow the order without question turning you head away. A part of you knows what's going to happen.

"Gramps, don't!"

"Graaaa-!" The Woodmon screams one last time as his fate is irrefutably sealed.

*Crack*

Thunder, much like from what you'd hear from a storm booms across the battlefield, when you dare to look back a few moments, the Woodmon has been blasted in twain. Even as you watch with wide eyes, his body starts fading away. A part of you feels sick, but you manage to banish that nervousness with a swallow. Flashes of memory rise to the surface, of how Gnaw deleted that Hawkmon weeks ago.

Gramps... He-he killed him but. It. It had to be done. ...right?

"You didn't have to do that!" Flamemon screams out beside you "He was beaten! Not a threat!" He tries to run towards Gramps, only to cry out and collapse to his knees when he jostles his broken arm.

Gramps lets out an exasperated sigh.

"Spirits below, you absolute fool! Did you forget what he just did to you!?" The Elecmon rises up to his hind legs and gestures towards your best friend's broken arm. "The Woodmon would have remembers this. He was a threat to the village so long as he lived!"

The sound of Flamemon grinding his teeth is audible. You concernedly look up at the tall rookie, who's slowly getting back up to his feet and shaking in anger. After a few seconds he takes a deep breath, steps forward and with a low voice asks.

"Are you going to try and delete the others?" You blink at is words, as does Gramps.

Flamemon you.. D-don't try and fight Gramps!

"By The Ten, no." The scarred rookie replies, "They weren't behind this. Without him," Gramps points a paw over towards the rapidly fading champion. "They're no threat." he pauses for a second and then turns towards the direction in which Sparks had kicked the Wizardmon. "And I don't think that one survived either."

Flamemon slowly loosens his one closed fist and sighs in relief, though he's still clearly upset. The very next moment he collapses back down and just sits on the ground, not moving at all. You rush forward to try and help, but pause upon seeing that he's only sitting down.

"Hrm, you're mad now, but you'll understand why I did this one day." Gramps mutters before shaking his head and turning towards you.

"Verge!" Gramps barks. "Grab Auger!"

"Y-yes sir!" You shakily reply, sprinting over towards where the Armadillomon had fallen. Lifting him up on your back this time isn't actually all that difficult, since he's not only is he smaller now, but you've gotten much stronger since then. While still a bit strenuous, it doesn't slow you down to a crawl anymore.

Sparks moves his mech to join Flamemon at the center of camp, though is strangely silent. Normally he'd be cheering in victory, but you think the conflict between Flamemon and Gramps has killed that notion for him.

Meanwhile, Gramps himself heads over towards the crates and begins checking them one by one. After a couple minutes he makes a startling announcement.

"Hmph. All empty..."

Empty? B-but where could all that crystal have gone?

You can't think of an answer, even after several minutes of thinking, and that scares you more than anything else.

Shortly thereafter and with Auger safely in the group, Gramps goes about doing his normal threatening, With the fight over, and no further threats present, you think of you healing disc still lodged in your grey bag. You'd spent a great deal of bits on it in case it was necessary for this fight. But, things hadn't really escalated to anyone being hurt to the point of deletion. Well, no one other than the Woodmon. Thinking of his demise makes you shudder, so you quickly thrust it aside and go back to pondering about Flamemon and the healing disc. It's a difficult decision.

Flamemon's arm is broken maybe... no, definitely. Maybe this could heal it? He's not in danger of dying, but it might take some time to heal. This could help him get back to full strength. But on the other paw I bought this for an e-emergency. Maybe-perhaps I should save it?

==== Choice: Do you offer Flamemon the healing disc? (Choose One)

[] Offer it, you'll heal Flamemon's arm.

[] Don't offer it. Save it for a greater emergency.

During the march back towards that village most everyone is miserable. Fu and Auger are sad over their defeats, though Gramps assures them they did fine. Flamemon is silent over failing to stop the Woodmon's deletion and Sparks is melancholic over the fighting between your best friend and Gramps. The only mon who seems at all happy is Gramps himself. He has deemed the major threat to be fully over and is looking forward to the festival.

Personally, your thoughts broach the subject of deletion. You know that the caretakers actions were probably the smarter thing to do, but upon seeing how worked up Flamemon got about it you can't help but wonder if it was actually the right thing to do. It's not an answer that comes easily.

As time passes, your mind moves onto something else, your promise to protect Lunamon. You hadn't thought much about it before, but you do like her. Her actions and words are strange but somehow endearing. It wasn't something near immediately like Flamemon and she's not your friend like Sparks or Auger but you don't want to see her hurt. In truth you'd be sadder without having her around. She's your… the word she used was *sister*, right? Sure, that sounds somehow good.

You're actually still a bit hesitant about using that term, as in truth you don't know what it means besides being close in a way that isn't quite like friends. However, it feels like something just as important, if not more so.. The word *family* pops into your mind after a moment, and while you have no clue what it means, it brings an intense feeling of sadness.

Shaking your head to clear away the strange feelings, you try thinking of the new addition. Jyarimon, your new ward and the little guy Lunamon has taken to calling her little brother now. You do kind of like the fresh digimon, and while his antics would be threatening and rude if he was bigger, they're really just comedic when coming from someone that small. But you haven't actually known him that long. Thinking deeply on the matter, you can't help but wonders if you'll ever feel the same about him as you do about Lunamon. If he keeps acting so violent when he's older like Sorcerymon said then maybe something bad might happen. It might be a bad idea to get too attached.

Should... Should I try to dedicate myself more towards them? If they're my siblings then that means they're important, or maybe will be. Not like Flamemon, but maybe I could try for something similar?

He'll heal the arm naturally. And healing now would probably lead to rash actions

[X] Don't offer it. Save it for a greater emergency.

He'll heal up fine with no danger nearby, if danger does come we can use it then.
