Hell, maybe it'll be something unexpected, like Verge's first time loading data, or Auger's first time killing someone, or Gnaw's first time admitting that someone else is better than him.
Or the first time an Agumon has ever unceremoniously died instead of being super important
Nah, #1 is probably a huge OH NO because if Verge digivolves now it'll be into Numemon unless something weird happens just before that greatly raises his stats.
Step by step the strangely colored Goblimon comes forward, his malice-filled gaze freezing you in place. The urge to scream then start running away or digging fills your body in an almost overpowering fashion. It's only by the very barest of margins that you manage to hold on and stop yourself from fleeing.
No Verge! We-I can't leave the other behind. H-he'd delete them and then.... Then he might c-catch me anyways.
Your gaze wanders back towards the dinosaur digimon still laying on the ground. He's completely and utterly, defenseless against what's coming. The next mon you see is Auger who's standing in place his body shivering in fright.
E-even Auger's scared?! C-can I, can we even....No! There's three of us we-we can do it. We can win. ... I hope.
"Your time is up I will-"
"Blue Fire!"
Gnaw immolates the talking rookie mid-sentence, blasting him before he can finish talking. For a moment relief floods your heart as he vanishes from sight, however it's swiftly replaced by dread as the flame fades, revealing only a few light burns and a very angry snarl.
"Hmph, you talk too much" Your companion growls before breaking into a four-legged sprint.
"Imbecile!" The dark-skinned Goblimon barks, his right arm snapping straight out towards one the many fallen clubs on the ground. It flies through the air, slamming straight into his open hand just in time to meet Gnaw's charge. Your friends horn is knocked aside, however the virus digimon doesn't let that deter him instead viciously lashing out with his claws. Keeping track of the wicked exchange proves impossible, but it quickly becomes clear Gnaw has the advantage as scratches begin to appear here and there over his opponents body.
The BlackGabumons furious swipes slowly begin to push your foe back, but the enemy digimon is not so easily defeated. With a well time sidestep he manages to avoid a swipe from Gnaw, then he pivots, taking his club in two hands and smashing it straight into your friends gut.
"Shamma Hammer"
His blow sends Gnaw rolling back across the ground even going over the body of one unfortunate normal Goblimon. Then on one rotation your friend thrusts his left paw into the ground, the claws tearing through earth and slowing him down. Even as Gnaw regains control the enemy rookie is attacking, summoning up a dozen small balls of fire.
"Shamma Strike"
The virus-type rookie is forced to dodge away as his opponent bats ball after ball of fire in his direction, keeping him from getting close. You watch the stalemate continue for several seconds before something sharp pokes you in the back left leg. Looking down, you find rescued mon growling angrily before looking over st the fight.
Tha-that's right. Gnaw is, he's fighting out there! I-I can't just leave him!
"Co-come on Auger!" Your high pitched voice screams. "We gotta help!"
"Uh....yeah! Rolling Stone!"
Your digging bro launches forward at top speed, rolling across the ground and straight towards the hostile digimon. Having heard users warcry, said mon turns in place, stopping his ranged assault on Gnaw to try and meet Augers attack. Just as before club strikes against shell with a mighty crack-but this time he's the one who's thrown back.
Before he can can recover you scamper forwards, leap up to your feet and transition into a Mach Jab containing every ounce of power in your possession. It hits with a dull *whump* forcing the strange Goblimon back a single step, but that's all your efforts have to show for it. The shorter digimons return glare leaves you frozen in place.
"Fine. I'll take you out first. Shamma-" A black blur slams into him mid-sentence cutting him off for a second time. "You again!" Both digimon come to their feet a moment later and continue their rapid exchange of blows, but this time with a third presence in the mix.
"Scratch Beat!" Auger shouts raking his claws against the opponents defenceless back. Shallow scratches trail down from his claws, but any actual damage is wholly minimal. You hang back from the fight unsure of how to contribute.
M-my attacks they-I didn't do anything what. What should I do?
"Stop being stupid! Use your claws Verge!" Gnaw screams over at you from the fight. However this ultimately proves to be a mistake on his part as it gives the green skinned rookie the opportunity to level his club at the BlackGabumons chest at point blank range.
"Mad Twist!"
A series of purple rings strike him dead on, blasting your friend away from the fight and tearing a single whimper out of his mouth as he's sent flying between the nearby trees. Completely ignoring Augers attacks, he strides forward and raises his empty hand into the air. Fire swirls to life above him and he reaches back ready to throw it at your wounded companion before he can recover.
No!
"Screw Claw!"
Your rapidly spinning drills are thrust forwards, the tips sinking deeply into the shorter digimons upraised arm. He shouts in pain as you drag the limb down making the fire vanish just as quickly as it was summoned. Digging though his flesh proves difficult as it proves to be nearly as tough as solid stone and your position doesn't exactly let you leverage your full power. Though you're not able to dwell on that for long as the opponents weapon blurs towards you.
*Thwack*
Starts cloud your vision and when you come to on the ground, its to the terrifying sight of the enemy mon raising his club for a second blow. Unfortunately (for him) a curled up Armadillomon smashes straight into his side. Without the time to properly brace, he's sent flying away.
"Uh. You okay?" Auger mumbles shaking his head to try and wipe away the dizziness. Woozily you nod back then try to push yourself back up onto all four limbs.
"Skipping Boulder!"
Wha-what?
*Crash*
A very large rock smashes against your heavily armored friend head breaking apart in the process. Several of the chunks bombard you, but most of it simply rebound off of your thick fur. When you open your eyes again, Auger is laying motionlessly on the ground his tongue lolling out and eyes blank. Thankfully a few seconds of time sees him recovering from the stun as he groggily gets back up.
He-he's fine.
Spinning around with all haste you spot the Goblimon variant once again duking it out with Gnaw, though this time its different. Your high-tempered friend is sluggish barely avoiding the opponents club and what's worse, his chest bears a gaping hole, leaking out a constant stream of data.
Gnaw! I-I have to help him!
Once again you initiate a charge, the drill on your nose spinning with all the force you can muster. Just before you arrive Gnaw is forced to leap back in order to avoid a horizontal swing, which is exactly what the dark green digimon wanted. With lightning speed he reaches down, grabs a small white object from his belt then throws it at the airborne rookie. The small piece of bone beans your friend across the forehead and the impact sends him spinning down to collapse on the ground.
"Drill Spin!"
In the next moment you nose plunges forward aimed directly for the foes side, but at the very last moment you hesitate to take the final step as the screams of a deceased digimon echo throughout your mind. The enemy digimons club moves down just in time to block the tip of your drill which swiftly begins boring through the material. Letting go of his weapon, the damaged mon lets loose a hungry grin and brings back a fist, obviously ready to smack you in the face-
Then Auger smashes into him for a third time.
"Aaargh! I have had enough of you!"
Having managed to gain range once again, the dark skinned mon raises both of his hands into the air summoning a massive ball of fire. Being more than a little afraid of the attack you dart away, which is the only thing that saves you when a moment later it explodes directly overtop Augers form. When the smoke clears a few moments later your hardy companion is heavily burnt, his skin scorched into crispy black texture with several spots around his carapace not faring much better.
"Ouch"
And with that he collapses, completely defeated
"It's over. I have won" The strange Goblimon laughs deeply, but it has a slightly pained undertone. "The rest of you, come out!"
Another dozen green rookies emerge from deeper within the forest and quickly trod over, moving to stand near their leader.
"It's time to fulfill My promise Drimogemon" his hands rise up into the air yet again summoning up a final ball of fire. Despite everything you freeze in place
No. I don't....I don't want to go.
He gets ready to throw it-
"Blue Fire!"
Only to be interrupted by Gnaw yet again. The BlackGabumon weakly limps into sight his orange eyes burning with fiery determination.
"You still talk too much" He coughs.
"Fine, I'll just finish you off first!"
"Come on!" Your friend howls. "I'll Rip you apart!"
The ball of fire is thrown.
Your friend burns.
"Gnaw!"
No!
"BlackGabumon Digivolve To!"

||
"Black Garurumon!"
He-he's alive! He digivovled! We-we're going to make it.
"I-Impossible!" The Shamanmons smug face warps into an expression of pure horror as a freshly champion steps free from his attack. Without wasting even a second of time he turns around and begins to flee, sprinting passed the regular Goblimon who are still stunned by the sudden evolution
"Bwahaha! I can rip you all apart now!" Gnaw barks, his voice decidedly deeper than it had been mere seconds ago. With another burst of cruel laughter he leaps up and crashes down on the nearest enemy rookie sundering it in two with a single swipe of his new claws. This prompts a mass route from the other eleven enemies, who begin to flee en masse from the murderous champion. Not that it does them much good.
The BlackGarurumon is simply too fast, even as you watch he runs after another lunges forward and bites down.
"Freeze Fang!"
With bits of frozen data cascading out from his mouth, the champion continues hunting them down one by one caring not for their terrified screams or pleas for mercy.
No.
"Wait! I change-argh"
Make it stop.
"Please, Boss made me-urk"
Please.
When its finally over a pile of bile is on the ground in front of you, but for one you've managed to stay strong. Standing guard over the badly wounded Armadillomon in case something else comes. That dinosaur digimon you'd rescued before simply isn't there anymore though you do see a few scuff marks that suggest he might have crawled away. You wait for Gnaw to come back, hoping that he help you carry Auger to Sorcerymon.
The other rookie, your friend is not doing so well. Where you nudge him, bits and pieces of body begins to slowly crumble off. He musters up just enough strength to raise his head to you and ask a question.
"Ugh.... Did-did we win"
"Y-yeah we did"
"Uhu, good" with that his eyes shut and the Armadillomon stops responding to any of your queries, slipping off into a deep slumber.

Authors Note:
Yeah big update, I think this was maybe a decent one! I hope you guys like the action, and that I handled the climactic moment well. Sadly was not able to get this one Beta'd.
Bugger, here is hoping his hearing got vastly improved too then.
[x] Plan: Wolf Howl
[x] Cry out to Gnaw hoping to call him back and help you get Augar back to the village for aid.
-[x] If he does come back, ask him to help us get Augar back to Sorcerymon post haste for the healing he seems to badly need.
-[x] Also see if you can find and get aid for that Agumon too, since he shouldn't have gotten far in his state and it wouldn't do for him to disappear from his wounds if you can help.
[x] If Gnaw doesn't come back shortly though, place Augar on your back and take him to either Gramps or Sorcerymon depending on who is closer.
-[x] Also, be sure to draw a simple and short picture of a arrow pointing at a hut in the dirt for Gnaw. This way he can hopefully figured out you went home.
Hopefully this way we can get help for our buddy fast, either through the aid of our new stronger friend or by our own efforts.
Loading would be able to heal wounds somewhat yes, but Verge doesn't have the mental readiness to kill the defenceless wounded Goblimon. It would also require the mon doing the loading to be conscious. Something Auger is not.

Letting go of his weapon, the wounded yet persistent mon breaks out into a smug, sadistic grin and cocks his arm way back, obviously ready to smack you in the face-
Then Auger smashes into him for a third time.
"Aaargh! I have had enough of you!"
Having managed to gain range once again, the dark green skinned mon raises both of his hands into the air and summons a massive ball of fire. Driven by little more than an instinctual panic, you dash out of the way of the attack, which is the only thing that saves you when a moment later it violently explodes directly on top of Auger. When the smoke clears a few moments later your hardy companion is badly burned, his skin scorched into crispy black texture with several spots around his carapace not faring much better.

"It's time to fulfill My promise, Drimogemon..." his hands rise up into the air yet again summoning up a large fireball. Despite everything, you still freeze in place, having no idea at all what to do in this doomed situation.
No, please... I don't....I don't want to go.
He gets ready to throw it-
"Blue Fire!"
Only to be interrupted by Gnaw yet again, as the small Rookie shoots a blast of his own which strikes the greenskin's back, scorching him a bit but still not truly overpowering his immense toughness. The BlackGabumon weakly limps back into sight, his orange eyes burning with a spiteful, savage determination.
"You still talk way too much!" He rasps.
"Fine, I'll just finish you off first!"
"Come on!" Your friend howls backl. "I'll Rip you apart!"
The ball of fire is thrown.
Your friend burns.

"Black Garurumon!"
The fire around Gnaw's body is blown away by the sudden force of his transformation as his light-body rapidly warps and expands before gaining solid mass once more.

"I-Impossible!" The Shamanmons smug face warps into an expression of pure horror as the freshly-turned champion steps free from his attack. "Y-yeah we… we did..." you reply, having trouble processing everything that's happened.
"Uhu, good..." with that, Auger's eyes shut and the Armadillomon stops responding to any of your queries, slipping off into a deep slumber.
-[x] Also, be sure to leave a simple and short note in the dirt for Gnaw telling him where you are going and why you. So he can hopefully catch up with your soon, as the faster you can help Auger the better.
[X] Sorcerymon can heal others right? You have to go and get him!
Guys, pay attention to the update. Auger is in such critical condition that just touching him is making his wounds worse. He absolutely cannot be transported right now. Plus, Verge is going to be quite slow and very vulnerable while carrying Auger. I think it's safer to go get Sorcerymon, who as a Champion will be able to get to Auger faster than Gramps and can heal him on the spot.
