So having been thinking about it for a while... it just occurred to me.

I haven't seen a pod descending on Antarctica in ANY of my save files.

I thought maybe there was some sort of quest trigger that I'd never bothered going after before, but after reading this latest update, I kinda had to slap myself in the head: It's gotta be from a mod pack!

Now my question is... was Bereave just a purely cinematic asset in Zoat's mod pack, or has some dedicated gamer ACTUALLY spent the time to do a total conversion mod and that's an actual snip from another save file?

I thought Yellow Rings had an initiation ceremony where you were given an empty ring, placed somewhere shitty, and had to fill it yourself?
They have to illuminate it. I'm choosing to interpret that as 'be surrounded by their fears, basically defenseless and still be able to activate the ring. Otherwise, every successful initiation would end with them needing a new fear lodge.

.... what?

... oh, well. At least she isn't pony-shaped, so I can mostly ignore the corssover that I loathe. (I have no interest in the show itself, I just really hate the way it gets into bloody everything.)

Have we ever seen that Paul mentioned before? Because Blue Lantern Paul would be the one on Earth -12 and I'm pretty sure he doesn't have the time to settle down.

I imagine that the staff appeared after a day or so.

Appeared? As in "BROB willed it so" appeared?
Because that would make him the first Paul to just get stuff thrown at him out of nowhere and I'm sure it would make every other Paul kind of jealous and Blue Lantern Paul downright mad.
Anti-Green Paul would probably just laugh manically at their complains about how their benevolent super-tools didn't also come with infinite free energy as a free bonus.

Two comments on this chapter.

First, good sweet Source I hope this isn't permanent. Or even lasting past the end of the arc.

Second, while I think this might be setting up the conceit of "bad fanfiction self-insert tropes" for deconstruction, at the moment the setup itself is really annoying. Still gonna read, because you need the setup for the deconstruction to be really effective, but I'm going to be anticipating updates rather less than normal until the climax begins.

Wait, how the the hell does a lantern ring speak pony? We know it can interpret animal sounds and body language for basic terms but there is no tail wag or snort for any of the scientific terms used.

...Okay, I'm not a brony and probably never will be (I mean no offense, it's just not for me), but I'm almost certain the ponies are sapient. That's like being upset it can understand Thomas the Tank Engine. Or Simba. Or any other thing that's not usually sapient that just...is.

For reference's sake, Thomas the Tank Engine is a sapient tank engine from a British television and book series, and Simba is a sapient lion from the Lion King, a Disney movie released in the late 20th century.

What exactly are these loop stories I've heard about. I've seen them mentioned in a few threads now and I've seen a few of them on the front page of the fiction forum, but I have no fucking clue what the premise is.

Something happened. The supercomputer that runs reality is broken. While it repairs itself over the next few aeons every fictional universe in existence and all possible variants are in a time loop from the beginning of their published material to the end. One person in each universe is the Anchor and remembers every single time they go through one of these loops. Other people become aware over time based on their relationship-proximity to the Anchor. People get stir-crazy after a while.

Whoops. Still, what's up with Paul_12 then? Has there been any mention of him beyond being engaged to a cheetah-person?

Is there anything specific to MLP regarding this kind of stories? Or was that community just (one of) the first to popularize it? Also, any chance you could link some of your favorite Loop stories (preferably from different franchises) so we get an idea?

I wonder why he doesn't just steal Sinestro's lantern. I'm sure it's possible, especially with the help of some greenies.
