"Though, I will confess to a degree of interest in the… Ah, you call it 'Divine Awakening'? I have no interest in gods, but I cut myself free of the distractions of the flesh to better focus my intellectual energies. If you have some way to amplify that further, I would be most interested."

Not too surprising a request, though I had expected him to be a little more sceptical. "If you like. However, I should warn that it may interfere with your implants and I can't guarantee what the outcome would be for a mechanoid like yourself. I can't.. Awaken your travel machine. If it were New God technology…"
"Would there be similar difficulties in using the technique on other members of our association?"

I shrug. "I don't know how it would interact with Savage's regeneration or the effects of the Lazarus Pit. Could do nothing, could improve them, could kill the user. Luthor is almost certainly com-." Okay, that's a bit annoying. "Compatible, but I'm not sure he'd be interested."
It's about time someone brought up the possible ramifications of Grayven's Awakening process, and the uncertainty of how it might interact with cybernetic implants (Brain) or the effects of the Lazarus Pit (Ray Al'Ghoul).

The closest comparison I can think of is how in the live-action "Hulk" movie, Emil Blonsky wanted an infusion of Banner's blood but Dr. Stern warned him there's no telling how it'd react to the flawed super-soldier serum already in his body.

Idealistically, it'd be great if Grayven turned a few Un-Men into Un-Gods but he wouldn't want to sour his relationship with Cranius and UnCorp on something that can easily backfire, and the Genomorphs at Cadmus might not be compatible.

Grayven:  "It's too bad I don't have access to a few disposable metahumans to do a proper case study of the Awakening process in the name of SCIENCE! You know, C-rank cannonfodder that no one cares too much about."
The Brain: "Hmmm…"
[(a few days later at the H.I.V.E. Academy)]
Grayven: "Greetings, disposable metahumans!"
Jinx: :o "I've changed my mind, I don't want to be a New God anymore."
Grayven: "TOO LATE! AIN'T NO BRAKES ON THE GOD TRAIN!"
Jinx: :o :o :o !!!

If there really was something related to MLP it'd be moronic, things out to stay within the DC universe sphere.
You know that Planet Wilson is basically a death world where nearly everyone operate under high level mind control magic for most of their lives, right?
maybe extend it slightly to marvel or Image but, unless you're going for a Deadpool thing, though with ambush bug, a unicorn/pegasus/earth pony paul might uh...throw things into the nope zone.

That's coming from an admitted Brony
You're worried that I might include something weird in my April the first episode?

Pjskaw.

Weird is fine. Lots of things are weird. Dumb and weird is not fine, and I personally think that a MLP appearance in this story without sufficient justification would be dumb and weird.
Eh, let him have his fun. It's not like it'll ruin the story, it'll just be a bit silly for a while.

That assumes he's actually planning MLP

Pony!Paul: "So, you ended up in a universe based on DC?"

OL: "Yes. It was strange at first but I've gotten used to it."

Pony!Paul: "But all the characters were Human instead of Ponies? How bizarre."

OL: "..."

Pony!Paul: "Being turned into a Human must have been horrifying. I...could probably change you back into a Pony if that ring of yours can't do it."

OL: "Whaw?! I was always a Human!"

Pony!Paul: "Denial isn't healthy, you know."

well, on the topic of variant DC worlds for alt-Pauls to have landed in, there's always the Tangent-verse. Admittedly, the Green Lantern there is fairly different in the nature of their powers. Paul'd need a ring/power that he can improvise a recharge method for.

See the issue when you do any kind of fusion where the MC is supposedly taking a rational approach to things is that you get to mix things that when combined are story breaking, heck even now by trying to mix so many usually self contained stories from DC you get some pretty obvious paths to power that have to be ignored for things no to get out of hands, it stretch suspension of disbelief, but it's tolerable (unlike the emotional entities being easy as pie to summon, that shit just makes no sense).

But if you add entire universes that you can make use of then things just get stupid, cause you're always gonna think, "wait can't he just get X from universe Y and or combine it with Z from universe V to do K" and then applies this logic to every scenario cause it's just too easy to abuse and if you don't the narrative doesn't make sense anymore and you know you're dealing with comic book characters rather than rational people.

Have a link for what planet wilson is? Cause I have no clue what "everyone operate under high level mind control magic for most of their lives" implies.

Easily fixed:

Wilson.

And yet you're bringing beings from another universe and letting use their powers? The very explanation for why things from another universe shouldn't work in this one would make it illogical in the first place to be able to access the other universe.

Trying to apply logic to illogical cartoons, how foolish.
Well, presumably they're in some kind of Ambush Bug based universal overlap. That'll go away after the episode of course. :p

...is Zoat a fan of Death Note?

or...Death Zoat, if you will?
I don't think that's mandatory: he doesn't like Teen Titans the animated series, and we're getting that too.

Mind you, the "hilarity" of Paul with a Death Note is the rules for them are eminently lawyerable given the "determine the time and manner of death clause". At the low low price of a person dying with each use, right? (Shudder)

Edit: The main issue with that is what repeatedly doing stuff with that would do to Mr. "Want the ends, want the means" mental state.
