This is Queen Bee. She probably sees Teth Adom as an obstacle to gaining dominion over his country, too. And the old regime would be indebted to her if she saved their asses, or something, by politically discrediting or smearing Teth Adom.
Dunno, I think it's possible that Queen Bee is clever enough to secretly trigger this latest fight in Kahndaq. This would be an excuse to work with Adom and end the conflict, thus ingratiating herself with Adom. With her rule-via-superpower style, Queen Bee might have decided that Adom would be the obvious eventual victor, and it would be in her best interest to gain his favor while he's still in a weaker position.

You know, I can't help but hope this is an entirely different group, hoping to fuck things up for Not!Egypt.

Or better yet, supporters of the old regime who attacked without permission or support of the higher-ups.

Just to shake things up.

A bowel disruptor might actually make a rather useful riot suppression device. I mean what sane rioter would continue to well, riot if they suddenly found there bowels voided. Sure police stations would have to stock up on air fresheners and extra pairs of pants as well as underwear, though it might not be a sacrifice they are willing to make.

Now that I think about it, I've unfortunately had the displeasure of meeting someone who lost control of there bowels and continued to go about like nothing happened only covering it up with after shave. Yes it was as disgusting as it sounds....

@Mr Zoat did you see my earlier question about Wolfs' size and the sentence structure?

Does Cobra-Venom pass down through blood like the Danner Formula or no which is why she is not as large as in canon?

Yes. I even answered it.
You may wish to reread Beta Male and Revolution. In this timeline, the Wolf pack never had Venom Buster used on them. The Wolf that became Wolf in canon died in Louisiana with the rest of the pack. WTR Wolf is a Danner Enhancile only.
I would also point out that this Wolf probably didn't exist in canon, and if she did then she grew up in India after Alpha Male.

Aw I see now.

Kinda disappointing Kon won't be having his Dire Wolf sized Wolf he could possibly ride (if only for fun) but no big deal.

Can Paul and the team even get involved in this situation?

Isn't the Justice League told or at least highly encouraged not to get involved in country affairs like this since to most of the world the "actual government" is simply trying to take down "rebels?"
They aren't actually in the JL.

And OL at least is generally of the "do what I want and figure out a handwave for why it was OK later" persuasion, anyway. And he's definitely going to want to help.

Not saying he won't but wouldn't be surprised if this had problems later.
Even canon Kon would rather have been able to fly.
I know but how many people would love to have a Dire Wolf sized Wolf?

Anyway like I said no big deal and naturally butterflies happen.

Speculation. Teth Adom is going to be Very Angry. OL isn't going to want Adom to go all berserker, but he's not a classic Killing Is Always wrong hero either, so I expect him to be more likely to try to talk Adom into being selective about who gets splattered than just telling him "no killing". He may try to convince Adom that it would be better to hold trials and formal executions rather than just tearing the guilty parties apart, since what really freaks people out isn't the killing so much as that it's a superpowered guy doing it.

Since the problem with defeating the dictator is the hostages I suspect either an attempt at a clever way of rescuing them, or of snagging the dictator and forcing him to release them.

M'gann has to conserve her mass when she shapeshifts. As such, she couldn't become a Wolf big enough for Kon to easily ride on.
