Will Paul spearhead a raid on Apokolips to save the New Genesis Gods? And if so, will he raid Darkseid's trophy room to get green lantern rings? If Darkseid also has the green lanterns they contained, he could get one for Alan! And if Renegade's picking up a yellow ring, I can see Paul picking up a green ring in contrast.

Zoat did say the second ring would be a lot of trouble for Paul. I can't imagine the Guardians among others being happy with him having one.

I'm surprised OL is so willing to consider a Justice League assault on Apocalypse. I mean, he's mostly dismissing her ideas, but he's not ranting at all.
Why?He was willing to take a swing at the First of the Fallen, despite knowing there was a better than even chance of him coming back.
Then there's his ongoing feuds with two Lords of Order/Chaos.
Dude has always been willing to go up against fuckscary people.

Thing here is that it's more likely to be a sneak mission than an assault.
And I suspect if OL goes to Apokolips, he'll be looking for more of Darkseid's trophies than just the Forever People.
There's a GL in custody there for centuries, after all.

You know, I'm pretty sure that information from Barda on the Omega Effect means Grayven's information he got on how to kill Darkseid from Superman 50 (the "put your hands over his eyes" approach) will probably be less than useful on Darkseid 16. It would be pretty hilarious if it DID work though. :p
Given it's stated to be powered by his "cruel and vile domination", exerting your will over him in some fashion might stop him from using it, and slapping your hands over his eyes works just as well as clapping him in manacles or tattooing "property of OL" on his scalp.
That or it has a slight radius when it hits, so if he hits the palms over his eyes he'll hit himself as well.

Remember Paul's oath to Gaia. He can't leave the solar system without a) giving Alan his lantern back, b) waiting several more months for time to run out, or c) being a dick and leaving anyway, taking advantage of the fact that Gaia no longer has a way to enforce the oath.

I know which option Paul won't pick!

Does that sound even remotely sensible to you?

"Can I block the manifested will of the God of Tyranny using the refined remains of two of the strongest demonic beings known to exist?"

"My friends include an amazon princess lie-detector, a man who dresses like a bat whose most prolific villain is a clown, a lesbian couple who wants to sleep with me, and the literal manifestation of Avarice in the universe"

"I'm from a universe where you're all comic book characters."

"There is a large boson collider that can generate black holes capable of destroying countries."

"This world's nanobots."

Do I need to continue?

Aside from Paul being immune to the oath due to the anti-scrying inscriptions on his soul and being on good terms with Gaia besides, he can give the lantern back to Alan, and then kindly ask for it back. This loophole has been noted before, he's just chosen not to exploit it because there's been no great need to.

It's exactly what Renegade just did, in fact, it's just that Renegade didn't steal/ask for the lantern back.

With somebody as powerful as Darkseid, the safe bet is usually "it won't work". And you'll get just one chance. If there was no other option it would be worth trying I suppose, but I wouldn't make any plans that rely on it working.

If nothing else he can direct the beams, and you can't stop two beams from different directions with just one Sword.

How would you feel if the Statue of Liberty were suddenly bright copper instead of green, though? The aging of the artwork is, in a sense, part of the art.

EDIT: And a lot of ancient statues were originally rather garishly painted.

OH MY EYES!

Also it would be a traffic hazard, shinning and clean bronze reflects the sun.
As a guy who works in the circuit board industry and sees fresh copper 6 days a week, I can tell you that fresh copper is pink

Unless you're a Jedi, of course.
If I were writing Jedi, the only way they would be able to block two beams with one sword would be if the beams were going to pass close to each other anyway and -assuming that the beams were coming from different directions- they had already moved out of the way anyway. 'Jedi, sword, everything get parried' is stupid wank, even if it is canon.

I mean, I don't usually groan until later when something dumb happens in a film, but Obi-Wan versus Grievous was soo stupid.

Hm. Can Gaia even notice him willingly giving the lantern back? A ritual could be done, and there probably wouldn't be any problems with doing so, but otherwise he's invisible to both breaking the oath and fulfilling it by deed.

Let's be fair, Luke used The Force to make a pair of proton torpedoes make a 90 degree turn into an exhaust port to blow up the Death Star. I think Obi-Wan can easily use the same concept to make the shots coming at him to fly towards his lightsaber instead

Alan could just go loudly declare that he has the Lantern and Paul's Oath is fulfilled, after flying to Themyscira if necessary.

Question: Is Grayven planning on taking over Apokolips and kick out his 'father'? if so, will this happen?
Grayven's Darkseid related plan go something along the lines of a) Avoid, b) AVOID HARDER, c) negotiate d) the Sword, I guess?

As author, I think the way I plan to have the situation resolve itself is suitable.

. . .is it possible to weaponize the dimension shifter OL ganked plans for from Power Ring Blue? 'Cause if so, I've got another theory on how to handle Darkseid, and it involves finding a nice, dead dimension with nothing to dominate.
