I see we're getting to the meat of this wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff.

So, because of things like magic, gods, and physical embodiment of concepts, time here works like the silly Sound of Thunder movie, with time waves affecting one thing at a time until the future updates completely?

...Well, time sure here is wonky. I prefer the Trunk's method myself.
From the sound of things the Legion protected themselves from the temporal alterations by isolating themselves in a bubble of space/time slightly outside the normal universe.

One thing I noticed:

Something else is happening, and our historical record makes no mention of you. But without having used a chroniton destabiliser, it shouldn't be possible for you to change history. You should simply be part of the original flow of events unless acted on by an external entity."
I have a strong suspicion that either OL, whatever is responsible for his appearance or both qualify as an "external entity". Which could make things awkward all round if he's the one accidentally responsible for erasing their future.

We know what brought him here. Hinon sent out a power ring to find someone in the Bleed and bring them back, and it found Paul. That doesn't explain why the time line is screwed up. Personally, I blame Truggs.

No particular reason, I just want him to suffer.

It was just a jump to the left.

And how did he end up in the Bleed in the first place? And what about the alternate Pauls? I doubt Hinon made the "slave animal" ring.
The alternate Pauls are a good question, but it's still interesting to note (even now, with Grayven-16 actually in play) that Darkseid greeted the Renegade by telling "Grayven" that the last time he saw his son was when he "threw [himself] into the Bleed"...

That doesn't explain all the other Paul's in the other parallel universes with different timelines.

I'd be surprised if their 'crisis' isn't entirely Paul based, due to his outsider nature. They are struggling to keep a bubble of time going through super-science, when they should by temporal effect be gone. It is a ridiculous struggle. But worse they tried to save their dinosaur selves by catching random pebbles (and succeeded in catching the Asteroid itself!).
Really the easiest solution is simply to find the key points that lead to this timeline and reconnect them... or destabilise their efforts and let them fade away as time decrees. From what we've seen so far nothing of value will be lost... Truggs being erased is just a bonus.

I always thought it was because the different parallel universe Hinons were experimenting with different colored ring types. Anti-green ring Paul getting the Weaponer version of Hinon.

Well my theory is contingent on the fact that "Earth Prime people don't have souls/magic/etc" is actually a complete load of horse apples according to DC canon.

In point of fact, people from Earth Prime can have extra superpowers- author powers. Precrisis with Cary Bates killing the Justice Society of America. Post Crisis with Morrison being a member of the Suicide Squad. Post Flashpoint with the memesmiths of Earth 33 making Ultra Comics, the living comic book.

So my theory is that Zoat used his author powers to make tulpa copies of himself and send them throughout the multiverse to write stories about them.

The whole "no magic in Earth Prime bit/not having souls," well, wouldn't want the rubes to know they were just creations meant to entertain people, they probably wouldn't appreciate that.

I wonder what would happen if he called for the big Orange Snake in this timeline. If his changes have yet to propagate down the time waves, (or these idiots are trying to jump the time waves, which is a terrible long term plan), she should still be in the Fountain, no?
