How? What rock was he living under to not hear the Chinese crowing about it?

It's also entirely plausible that they can still feel that Klarion's power is still active, and have assumed that the Klarion that the Chinese executed was a fake.

Huh, maybe this means we'll catch up with John and see how many high level supernatural threats he's been ganking in the meantime?

This reminds of how Atrocitus came to Earth in hope of killing Black Hand before he became the herald of the Black Lanterns but instead of trying to explain the situation he straight got into a fight with the local heroes and green lanterns, granted given his history with the latter's Guardians it can be slightly excused.

So Paul is dealing with a pile up of conflicts derived from miscommunication and an inability to solve these problems without collateral damage, granted compared to the early situation with Konvikt this had less death despite having more dead bodies.

Also Paul should look into more powerful methods of resisting magic since his spell eaters seem to barely do the trick these days, or whatever forces he's dealing with seem to subvert them, since the Grundymen did stop moving after being shot with mage-slayers. Maybe some avarice based magic or add even more magical tattoos onto his body for good measure.

Also maybe reducing the waiting period for when to give Jade powers or an orange power ring since since she's technically the weakest link among the three of them, or have a set of power armor designed for just her in his subspace pocket.

"Our auguries showed the taint of the monster Klarion upon you. But if you survived my shot, his touch must only have been slight. I pray you, as a God-fearing man, tell me where the monster makes his home that my end him before any others come to grief by him!"
Didn't he talk about how gods are basically jumped up elementals? I know that Renegraven called down the wrath of a god so that he could mock it, but i'm not sure how much Paul mocked the gods.

ok so, we saw them use 2 rather effective tricks poorly. 1, high-end magic disruption resistant zombies, 2, a magical weapon that pinned Paul in place and breached his defenses. That gun is fucking juicy, and I suspect paul is going to be focused on taking this guys group for all of its magical secrets because that is some high-end shit this knucklehead is throwing around, and I doubt he made it himself. Gear that good that can be used by what appears to be a near layman is super interesting.

oh one more thing,

my tattoos hurt for the first time since they healed.

this sounds an awful lot like it overcame a scry ward that can and has defeated midlevel Gods. Once again, that fucking gun is amazing.

Um... Why did Paul fight those things from ground level? Altitude would not only keep him safe, it would also mean they get squashed flat by strikes instead of knocked back.

Technically, they're in the US. They're Episcopalian.
Episcopalians are Anglican. Also, no.

Thank you, corrected.
He's assuming one spell her brain.

I know that Paul tends to just use construct armor and power armor, but is it feasable to essentially turn an entire breastplate into a very interconnected spell eater, essentially making the spelleaters so small that and interconnected it becomes like chainmail.

Huh. So were the zombies going for lethal against Jade and Alan? And would OL have survived the shot without all of his defenses and his ring?

I'm going to be honest, out of everything I was expecting Amish Chaos-Lord Hunter was not one of them.

Perhaps he's actually looking for Constantine? Just because he becomes super strong doesn't mean his existence won't cause random people to suffer.

So just because Danner plus Divine Blessing stack (not to mention his gods could of recalibrated said blessing), doesn't mean Zatanna avoids accidentally inverting the Danner effects. Even invoking Reset Button wouldn't ensure there is no consequences, because well... Comics, ya know?

Yes, I do know comics. Which is how I know that in DC there is no distinction between a "divine blessing" and any other magic.

Magic is magic, where the magic comes from isn't relevant.

Do you know what stops Billy Batson from tapping into the power of the shazam transformation to cast any spell he wants?

Nothing but the wizard's annoyance. When the wizard dies and Billy becomes his successor he goes from flying brick to spellcaster.

Likewise, when stripped of his powers, Black Adam regained his powers from a spell cast by Faust, using Isis's body as his power source.

So magic is magic, and when they transform they are humming with magic.

Hence my comment that Adom's magic being theurgical shouldn't matter.

If the Danner formula gobbles up all available magic then the shazam transformation shouldn't be an exception.

Considering that the submissionary is probably part of a task-force sent from witch-world to deal with a former lord of Chaos, it stands to reason that their most skilled practitioners of maleficium and the Craft-martial would be tasked with the punishment and disposal of Klarion Bleak, and thus also be supplied with the best "toys" to aid them in their duty.

Yes, but I assume the gun's effects are purely made to attack klarion's/chaos magic and have less effect on other targets.
