I really haven't thought it through in that much detail. Let's say... No. They only become friends between series one and two, and that was set during series one.

I hope that when he loses it he has some alternative ready. Like I dunno, making a power battery out an emply cosmic cube or clarktech stuff. Or something like that. Marvel uses a lot more bullshit super science than DC does. Or at least we see it more due to all the science heroes.

In the cinematic universe I think the cosmic cube is an infinity stone.

I don't know why but I can picture her blending with the predator, and in a moment of pique accidentally cloning/replicating paul, all his thoughts, and his flesh, and a blank soul quickly suffused with the violet light( his rings would not have been replicated but the tattoes to give him an arcane presence would have). That will be incredibly awkward but is not unreasonable for a comics verse.
 
So, why a stage magician? In a world awakening to the knowledge of Arcane, she could and should aspire for more. Popularize magic, bring the knowledge of arcane lore to the masses!
 
All said, however, I do appreciate even if they disagree on Nabu, Zatara being diplomatic about the parts he does appreciate.

He's never going to be that polite to OL again for at least a while due to the violet light thing and getting Constantine involved, but that's more understandable.

Well i hope that's more familial or sibling love (like between Kon and Paul) instead of romantical love.
Enough time for Zatanna to change the type of affection has passed.

If she still has her crush, then i foresee drama. Best case: A bit of crying and shouting until she accepts the situation.
Worst case: she dives too deep into the Star Saphire and becomes a second Carol Ferris (or however the precious human holder of the saphire was named)

Quite right, it's the Space Gem equivalent. The only other Infinity Stone that has a connection to a pre-existing Marvel MacGuffin is the Time Gem equivalent which is also the MCU's Eye of Agamotto. Thus, in the MCU, the Eye is less "that which reveals" and more "TiiiiiiiIIIIiiiime is on my side, yes it is!"

For what it's worthy I'm still interested in those random bits and bobs we saw of the Marvel Universe variants. EMH was always a favorite of mine, and the idea of MCU Paul and SWORD entertains me rather thoroughly, for all that we've seen about... nothing of that besides that Paul and Skye/Daisy on Damocles Base commenting on Earth's propensity for parochialism.
